Friendly Blue Orb

This is one of my first physical experiences with the paranormal that can't really be explained. When I was 15, my sister and I shared a room at one corner of the house. We decided to open our windows to enjoy the summer weather and listen to the frogs that were down by the river. Looking out the window we saw a blue light down by the gravel road. We simply thought that someone was walking down there because teens went to the river to drink all of the time so we thought nothing of it.

We laid down to sleep and Amanda dozed right off. I was laying there almost daydreaming when I decided to get up and look out the window again. I dearly love summer nights in the country.:) As I looked out I saw the blue ball of light again. It started moving up the road then crossed over the fence then moved through the trees. It was moving lazily but not fast enough for someone that was walking with a light. Then it dawned on me that it was moving over a tree and was a perfect orb.

I had never seen anything like it before but it was beautiful. It lazily kept drifting up through the field towards the house. By now, I could see it clearly and at least 10 ft around it quite clearly because it was so bright. It just kept coming closer to the house and I could see that it was roughly the size of a grapefruit. It was then that it reached my window just hovering there. I didn't freak out or feel scared at all. I cannot express how beautiful it looked. The light was so bright yet you could look right into it without squinting.

I was so caught up with it and curious that I didn't even think to wake up Amanda. At this point, it started coming through the screen. Admittedly, I didn't exactly know what was going to happen and at that point wanted a comfort anchor. So I jumped into bed and pulled the covers up but the orb was still there. It came fully into the room and floated over my bed, just hanging there. I had a staring contest with it almost. There was a bit of an anxious feeling but nothing bad. More like when you meet a new person and hope they like you. Lol

I really don't know how long this went on but eventually I reached out to touch it and then it back away and zoomed off through the window. It was then I heard footsteps in the hall. Mom had gotten up to use the restroom and saw the light in my room and thought us girls were up gabbing and had come to have us turn it off. She just gave us a chiding without asking questions and left. So, has anyone else had anything like this happen? It was a really cool experience honestly and it didn't scare me at all. Also, I was glad that Mom had seen the light from the hallway because I knew I wasn't just dreaming.

your first physical experiences with the paranormal is so... Beautiful? I never had anything happen to me... Or maybe it did just that I don't feel it as a paranormal. I am a person that wants to experience something paranormal but I am also afraid just that I don't show it (I stress about it) and about the blue orb thingy? If you ever find out what is it... Can you share it with me/us? Cause I really want to know what it is:) and I wish to see it one day:) and while reading your story I imagined it... Its beautiful, it makes me want to really see it since in my imagination it is beautiful already:) ... Thank you for sharing your story:D ❤

I have seen a peachy-orange orb in my room before. It doesn't feel evil... Instead it feels...conforting. I have no idea what to do though it still creeps me out about this whole ghost business! 😭 I hope It either makes contact or goes away.

Oh wow! That is awesome and I much enjoyed reading that. I completely understand the feeling you described in your account and the desire to see one again. Hopefully we will both have answers some day. 😊

SaraBeth,
You have to check out the experience that sylunedarkchylde had with the orb. One thing that is interesting to me is the distance between the two of you. You in Missouri and she in the Philippines. But what amazes me most is the reaction you both had to the orb.
This is just too cool.

Jav 😁

Hey! It's so awesome that Jav pointed me to this direction--I think what you and I saw was the same! Somehow it feels really, really different--not something that's scary, but more like playful, and it looked magically beautiful, right? Here, read through my story on it:

Cool story! I once saw an orange orb when I was a kid. I wasn't quite curious enough to stick around when it moved closer to me. See my Orange Glow story for details.

I've just found this similar (ish) story from a couple of years back, thought you might be interested: http://www.yourghoststories.com/real-ghost-story.php?story=7459. Your story is really beautiful. I wonder what it was.

SaraBeth,
How cool was that? Just reading through your experience gave me a sense of calm and serenity.
I'm with Devious, I wouldn't mind having the same type of experience myself.
I love the mystery of it. Somehow, it seems almost wrong to attempt to identify it's origin or destination. I believe some encounters are meant for one person, and one moment. This one ranks in that category, in my humble opinion anyway.
Thank you SaraBeth, for sharing the wonder. 😊

Thank you for sharing your story with us.
Very intriguing encounter.
I could just hear the frogs when I was reading it. That was cool.
I have no idea what your experience is.
But your story reminded me of when my mother saw, in the middle of the day, an orb playing in the clouds in Sitka Alaska. She said it would zip from one cloud to another.

SB,
Before I even got to your last sentence, I said it for you... He has a lot in store for him.

I would agree with this. Experiences usually don't bother me. Out of place voices and things moving a bit are no big deal. But when they are coupled with a feeling of unwelcome or even malice, things aren't so comfy. My boyfriend wants to experience a ghost at some point in his life. I told him to stick with me and he would never have to worry about that.

SaraBeth,
Growing up in a family that teaches you that this is real and normal, would definitely allow you to be more receptive. With regards to individual experiences, it seems to me like each one opens the door of sensitivity just a little bit more... And the more that you accept it, the more it happens.

Do you mean that, once you are made aware of it, you start seeing the world differently? Because if so, yes. Both sides of my family are very "sensitive" to the paranormal. I wonder if that isn't a part of it. I mean, I grew up with Grandma's house that I mentioned before and then my Granny had a friendly ghost that flushed the toilets and played with her makeup all of the time. So I wasn't shut off to it. But there is something different between growing up with stories and mild happenings, and then something very direct happening to you. Or maybe you are just more accepting as a kid and therefore it is "normal"?

Erg, I think I type too fast on this computer and the result is atrocious spelling and grammar. I have had many experiences with the unexplainable, but about half have been positive. This I would say, was a good experience. You couldn't have seen it without gasping from the beauty and the energy you felt. I am glad that my personal experiences (those when I was alone) started on this good note. It keeps me from freaking out just because something isn't possible to "debunk"

Quite an experience, SB... Have you ever wondered whether one experience leads to the next?

Sometimes it seems like activity is random almost to the point of: "Well, that figures I would see that"

Then their are other times when they escalate and you start to wonder whether or not what you are experiencing is... Changing your perception.

Or is that just me?:)

Just a thought here, but maybe what you saw was either an elemental spirit or a spirit in the process of crossing over? I agree with Lou, most of the time blue represents a feeling of peace and relaxation, and sometimes sadness, but hardly ever any kind of hostility.

It was like a perfect round ball. Definitely in 3D with swirling light on the inside. Like those fancy bowling balls almost. Only about the size of a large grapefruit. It just hovered in the air over me for the longest time (I believe, I kind of lost sense of time) and I was less than an three inches away from touching it when it zoomed away so fast. It didn't unnerve me because it just had the feeling of a curious kitten almost. Whatever it was, it didn't want to harm me in any way.

Sara Beth,

This would likely be hard to determine when looking at a light in the darkness, but did it have dimension, did it look 3D or was it flat?
In my limited experience, blue was always good and not malevolent in anyway. I assume this was the only time you ever saw it? It always interests/amazes me... The reaction of a spirit when it realizes it has found someone who can see it... I have seen only a couple orbs with the naked eye, and several caught on film. Of the ones seen, both acted intelligently as yours did... And they do move away from contact.

That is a very interesting experience... Blue light to me sounds a bit like electrical energy, so I wonder if the orb you saw was some sort of concentrated mass of electrical energy? Spirits manifest in all sorts of interesting ways so I think it could be a plausible explanation. Either way, very fascinating encounter and one I would not mind having myself. I appreciate the fact that not every paranormal experience is creepy or horrifying!
