Held Down on Bed

Last night when I was sleeping, I thought I was having a dream, but now I'm not so sure, it felt so real. It was like I was above myself. I was laying on my bed and I was being held down by my wrists and ankles, something very heavy was on me top of me. I tried to move and I tried to yell but I couldn't. Then, just as I woke up, it was gone and I felt very strange and could hardly breath. I stayed awake for hours thinking what was it. Can anyone please help me and try and explain it to me. Also my cat always sleeps on my bed, but he wouldn't come in the room and slept in the lounge room.

A root man? Sorry, ROOT MAN. I am unfamiliar with the term. Could you elaborate further on what that means? Contextually I wonder if it relates to necromancy? Few have the power to resurrect a thread so long dead.

Is there significance to the time 3:16 am? Just it seems very specific. Just wondering

When I was 24 I had a similar experience. We had just moved into a new home. It was on a small lot in a development at the end of a long, windy road. The road was a large farm but at the end our landlord had about ten modular homes on some land she owned. Not much traffic came back that way, mostly just neighbors. I noticed on a few different occasions that my bedroom had shadows that just could not be explained. There was a heavy feeling in the room and there would be almost a black mist hovering in one corner by the ceiling. I would stare at it forever and it would kind of float around. There did not seem to be any lights on that side of the house to cast the shadow and the windows were not in the path of the road where headlights might be the cause.

I did not see this every night but when I did, it was always the same. Eventually I dismissed it and would simply stay on the phone with my boyfriend until I was nearly asleep. I tried not to look for it and even moved my bed at an angle that I would not have to look in that corner unless I turned that way on purpose.

One night I fell asleep at the wrong end of my bed. I was nearly asleep when I got the heavy feeling in the room. I opened my eyes and was staring right into that corner. The shadow was there but vanished abruptly. Then I heard in my ear "that's right, I'm here." My chest pounded. I looked to the corner and saw nothing. Then I looked up and the mist was right above me. It was huge but transluscent and swirly. I closed my eyes tight hoping it would somehow stop this from happening. When I went to open my eyes I could not. Then I realized I also could not lift my arms, legs, or torso. I pressed up as hard as I could but it was like a weighted blanket was on my from the neck down to my toes. Next I tried to yell for my roomates but it was as if my mouth was sealed shut. I could make sounds but they could not escape my mouth. I tried and tried but I was just frozen to the bed. I was terrified. Then I heard the creepiest laugh directly against my ear... So close that it tickled and sent shivers down my spine. I felt the pressure lift and I could open my eyes. I sprung out the bed and ran out my door into the hall hitting every lightswitch in my path to my roomate's door. I did not sleep that night needless to say.

After that my roomate had an incident in the shower where something caused 3 large scratches down her arm and back. There was no way she could have bent her arm in the pattern to do it to herself. Her mother did some sort of ceremony in the house, mostly some prayers and also she placed garlic in each corner of my room. The activity ceased after this

I can relate to this very much... It all started when I was serving time at Long Bay Jail... I would lay down in my cell and start to drift off... All of a sudden this cool breeze would enter my cell and I would be pinned down... Not able to move, speak or anything... Now if you have ever experienced this you know it scares the shiat out of you... It would only last a minute but it felt like ages... Well this became a nightly occurrence and by the fifth time instead of fear, it became annoying and through gritted teeth I use to swear at it and it would release me... I never saw anything, but by god you could feel it... Well I went to the prison library and did some research and started to read the bible... Well the pinning down continued and every time it happened I prayed to the Arch Angel Michael to help me and it worked... His Blue colored sword would fill my mind and whatever was messing with me got off me quick smart... Now I'm not the most religious person in the world but after that I believe in ghosts and spirits... Also Alicia the mother of my children and my soul mate who I was with for 16 years recently passed away and even though I haven't had a visit I saw her checking on me and the kids through a mirror... I couldn't see her face but I just knew it was her... When she died she stayed in the house and you could just tell cause I'd go into our bedroom and frost would come out of my mouth... Her presence was strong and it spooked the kids... I know she was upset that she died but she was spooking the kids to a point that they didn't want to be there... We have moved now snd I still feel her presence but I wish she'd let me know she was alright... Seeing I believe in spirits it's commonsense that there is a heaven and hell... I have asked her for signs but I have seen nothing... Or maybe I'm not reading them properly... Anyway the whole experience has opened my eyes and I am a believer... I believe Bad spirits feed off fear or weakness in the soul so in my opinion if anything like that happens again do not be scared... I know it's easy to say but be strong and ask for help from the Arch Angel Michael... Believe me it works

Happened to me, there's a name for this "ghost" in arabic which slips my mind,
Way to prevent-Sleep on side (not on back or chest)

AND (maybe OR, I am muslim so I wouldn't know)

Be a REAL, religious muslim (includes praying five times a day all year round, not just during ramadan for all you dumb muslims out there)

NOTES: -Alot of things "Muslims" do these days does not reflect Islam, prime example, "suicide bombings", to commit suicide as a muslim is unacceptable in ANY scenario, even if its to save a loved one...
-Research Islam and you will realize a lot of things in life
-We were not born from apes... We all have the same father, Adam
-Don't believe me? Well, Allah knows I tried and I hope you atleast find it in your heart to atleast accept the religion of Islam.

Hey just wanted to share a few things I suck a spelling sorry. But please read a few months ago I was in a dream I guess a dream. It was so real everything to a T the same way my room is and the way I left it before bed in this so called dream. I awake to a red frosty light outside my window I froze in the bed as a person or something came threw the glass and in a flash was on top of me it felt like a ton as it held me down I could not scream or move at all. Then in my mind I prayed and in a flash it was gone. I don't even rem wakeing up but I laid in bed the rest of the night thinking wtf happened. 12-20-1210 same thing no light or could not see anything due to the fact it held my face down and as it was on my back I was trapped, It did something I don't want to talk about I could not scream or yell for help or move I could think tho if I get up I'm going to lose it. I started thinking about the bible and jesus it wanted nothing to do with that and as fast as it came it was gone it was 4:13am when it left I know this because I looked at the clock as fast as I could don't think it was a dream this time.

I had a similar exerience last night and it wasn't the first time. I understand the sleep paralysis theory, but why does it always involve some dark presence and a feeling of impending doom? Why not a giggling Baywatch babe laying on me?
If it is a hallucination while coming out of REM sleep it seems like 50% of the time the hallucination should be positive, however that's not what I'm reading here.
Regardless of whether it was a hallucination or real, here's what I experienced - I was sleeping face down and woke up to the sensation of being forced down in my bed, actually sinking deeper into the mattress. I'm 6'6" tall and 240 lbs and despite using 100% of my strength I couldn't budge an inch, however I could feel the resistance as if I was pushing against something physical rather than simply unable to move or speak. Besides the actual feeling of being pushed deeper into my mattress I also felt the sensation of something moving directly in front of my face. The entire experience probably lasted less than 60 seconds however it seemed much longer.

If it is a succubus visiting me, how do you call in the young, attractive ones that weigh less than 300 lbs?

I have experienced this too...
When I was younger I used to have strange things happen when I was in bed such as feeling like I am being pulled through the bed or pushed down on it...can't talk etc. But I always thought maybe it was dreaming until a couple of years ago.
I am 30 years old now but about 4 years ago I became very spiritually aware and I was laying down watching the christian network channel. All of a sudden I am lying in bed with the light on and I feel someone/thing putting pressure on my body it started from the bottom up. My sheets were lifted above me and I felt a very heavy pressure pressing down on my body. It felt like a man was on top of me trying to have sex but there was no one visable. I felt it. And from the corner of my eye there is an orb of light. It felt like I was going to be rapped by a ghost. I tried to scream and nothing would come out of my mouth I tried to move but I was pinned down. So I said in my mind I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and I said Jesus Jesus Jesus! And just like that it left. My eyes were wide open the whole time. I know it wasn't a dream a dr. Told me it was but, I know it wasn't I was wide awake and freaked out. For the longest time I couldn't sleep on my day bed. I had to get sleeping pills it was scarey.
About 2 years later I was moved out of my moms house and her friend spent the night in my bedroom on the day bed. She had a lot of med conditions however she was young mid 30's. She passed away in that bed unknown causes. Prob. Due to her diabeties.? Yeah right! This is what I think I think the same thing happened to her and she didn't know how to rebuke them in the name of Jesus so she prob got scared to death and died... It creeps me out.
I have also felt a pressure of some one putting thier hand on my leg while I am sitting in bed. You don't see it but you feel it and you know it's real. The best thing to do is just have faith and rebuke the enemies in Jesus name.

I'm not a big believer of ghosts and spirits, but when I was about 21 I had an experience like this. I had been living in this house for 15 years and had bad nightmares in the past, after which I woke up and relised pretty quickly it was just a dream. However, this experience felt way too real and left me questioning if it was a dream. It was about 2am, I was in bed in a half concious state when I felt a wave of cold go through me followed by a heavy force holding me down on my chest and arms, and holding my eyes closed. About 20 seconds after I initially felt the force on my body I said to it in a quiet but angry voice (and normally I don't swear) "F&#k off". About 5 second after I said that a very deep gravely (evil sounding) voice repeated what I said back to me. It sounded like it had it's face right it front of mine when it said it. This experience lasted for about another 10 seconds after that and then the force disappeard. I then jumped for the bedside light and switch it on, but I didn't see anything. This experience left me very shaky and I don't think I will ever forget it. It's been about 11 years since that happened and I have never had anything even close to that happen again. I'm still not totally convinced it was something supernatural, the mind can do some very weird things when it is in a subconcious state. But if this was a dream, this was the most realistic dream I have ever had by far.

i have had an experience like this before. I have heard of sleep paralysis but I have to beg to differ. Thay clam that its scientific but can't explain hallucination or sounds heard. Yeah real scientific lol. Let me tell you what happened to me. I had to be about 13 years old my family and I moved into a new home first time ever having my own room. My room was always the coldest always. I remember my mom assuming I left the window open. Anyway I ws sleeping and all of a sudden I woke up as I'm a very light sleeper I lifted my upper torso up as I held the covers to my chest I saw nothing so I laid back down and laid there staring at the door all of a sudden the door slowly opens up as I'm watching it from being completly closed to gradually opening I'm waiting for my mother or brother to walk in but the door just opens up and no one walks in as I'm still starring at the door saying "tony (brother) its not funny" I can feel something at the end of my bed, I feel it rising so as I look down towards the end of the bed I notice that there is an indent in my bed as if some one was sitting next to me I yell out to my mom and all of a sudden as I'm petrified with fear from this sight my head is slammed into the pillow and I feel weight on my chest as I was being sat on. I try to get up but I couldn't I lifted my arms but the were immedietly forced down and felt locked down at that point I was kicking my legs trying to lift my waist but I wasn't getting anywhere. I can't get up I can move my head from side to side as if I had a hand on my forehead trying to keep me from lifting it up I go to yell but I cant. I see nothing no spirits no shadows no darkness just being force down and unable to scream as if that hand moved to my mouth I remember trying to thrust my body upward but I was just being pushed down yelling and yelling for help but nothing I began to cry and all of a sudden there was no more pressure and that's when I saw a a gust of like a black cloud go through my doorway and felt no more pressure it didn't take but two seconds to get up and rush out of that room screaming into my mothers room I jumped in bed but she told me to shutup I was dreaming to go back to bed. I returned to the room turned on the light grabbed my pillow and ran into my lil brothers room and laid in his bed. As I look back and here stories I start to wiopnder was it an incubus? My kitchen was being remodeled did that bring out spirits? Its very scary and I have looked for reasons but I rewfuse to believe my experience was sleep parylsis I was up for sometime before anything happened and I can't open doors with my mind yes my body can but I was laying down as it slowly happened no disease makes doors open for you. It never happened again but I also changed rooms the very next day.

I have read about this and never experienced this until recently. I have experienced the Incubis at many levels. I have had 8 holding me down at once as one will then take me sexually. I am a christian and no amount of prayer can save you, trust me. I asked around and people have said that salt around ones bed will protect you. I haven't needed to use this only once when my son came to visit and he felt that he was being made to do something he would have normally did when he wasn't in that house. Once we used salt in his room he was ok. Last night I fell asleep and as I was sleeping I felt an incredible amount of power holding me down. I couldn't move my entire body and I am a large woman. I couldn't do anything, I tried to call out the 1st time it happened but nothing came out. I also didn't hear any noises. I only hear one sound if any later when I was trying to call out and that was a vibrating noise, like the one you hear from a cell phone when it's on Vibrate. When I awoke quickly as I heard it. I still felt something holding me and with my legs spread open. I still couldn't move and my mouth had wetness all over it. As if something was in my mouth but I never felt it. Maybe that is why I couldn't speak. As I layed there I felt somethings on me but they never sexually touched me. I felt them release me and then I arose and went to the bathroom. On my face you could see the imprint of a hand on my cheek with finger marks. I also had cuts on my neck but later they would disappear. Strange! I didn't want to go back to sleep for fear I would end up in that dark room again. My daughter was sleeping next to me but she was totally untouched. Strange also. She told me though that she did feel someone touching her hair but that was all. Later when I did get back to sleep I was back in that same room but this time I managed to speak. I heard myself speaking but not waking. I said Help! Help me! Someone help me! Then I heard the cell phone going off again and woke up. The same thing with my mouth happened I had wet all over it. But I managed to speak that was a break through for me. I never felt them having sex with me during the time they held me, but who knows I couldn't feel a thing just being held without anyone helping to let me go. I have had repetitive dreams sort of like this before where they speak to me and I hear them say things to me. But I haven't had these since I was a kid. Now they are affecting me all over again. You are certainly not alone. Never feel like you are. I am so scared to go to bed tonight!

I had something similar happen to me like 4 or 5 years ago and I just thought I was insane, but now reading this stuff I feel a little better about myself. Its only happened once and this was at my old house I lived in, but other weird and really creepy stuff had happened before this, but this was the last thing before my family moved. Now my story is very similar for the most part but here it is. I was sleeping one night and everything seemed normal, but all of the sudden I felt this force right on my chest and it felt like someone was physically holding me down to my bed, and now that I think about it, I believe that is saw a shadow of a figure, not exactly on me but in my room. This is where its a little different, I felt like I got this surge of energy and I was able to spring up in my bed and I started throwing punches! I've never been in a fight before but I was swinging hopeing to hit whatever was there. I then sat still and then I asked, what do you want with me. I sat there for a little longer and then I said I want you to leave. I then got this cold sensation and very scary feeling and I covered myself up with my blankets, and I sat there at least 10min. And then I looked out of my blankets and then I had a peacefull and calming feeling, but this has stuck with me forever. Granted I'm only 21 but this scared the SH*T out of me! Please comment me back if you have something like this that has happened to you:)

This happened to me too, as I was going to go with my mum to some mall, it held me down, not allowing me to do anything. First I was tired 'n stuff, and didn't want to go out of bed, but then I decided to get up. But I was pinned down, I couldn't do anything. Nor scream or yell, I was being held down, having my voice choked, the thing is, now I am not sure, this might be my imagination, but I could've sworn I heard an evil laughter, laughing at me, mocking me, whilst I was leaving my mum alone. The thing is, when she asked me "Are you sure you don't want to come?" I only answered with a troubled mumble, that almost sounded like I cried, but she ofcourse thought it was me who was tired. Note that I also saw some wierd shadowy things in my eyes, that looked like some black maggots. But after when I woke up, I wasn't, nor was I sad, but I was rather enraged, I sprung out of bed, yelling and cursing, due to that I let my mum go alone. (Because I had to buy something important at the mall;p.) after that, I googled for it, thinking it was a dream, I entered a website with dreamlogs, but I didn't find any of it, nor pinned down, or evil laughter. Then I found this website, which says something about it being a ghost, so I directly flew up in my room, kept yelling. "Get out of my room, I do not allow you here, get the f*ck out!" Rather scared, but afterwards I calmed myself, and ordered it to leave and never come back, and it got me rather paranoid because it made me yell on my cellphone (Since I saw the display picture on my cellphone ALWAYS change face expressions, from somewhat surprised, to glad. But I always thought it was the picture that was somewhat welldrawn, making it seem as if it had different face expressions.) One other thing was, when I read this, my skin started shivering, I got colder and colder, somehow more scared, and frightened, but after I ran up and yelled like a headless chicken, it somewhat got warmer, and the shiverings in my body carefully started to go away. And when I yelled yet again, it all vanished. Just one odd thing is that, after all this yelling, I looked at my window, That has a persienna (if it now is spelled like that) and it had a white tear shaped drop on it. It all sounds as if I am going crazy, or making it up, but I really didn't find another place to put it in, except here.

yes I have also felt this weird dream about three or four times now, and it is frightning every time. This is what happened to me though, It starts of in somewhat like a dream but it feels soo real, in these dreams I always wake up in my room and I'm barely able to move my head, eyes, and can barely whisper, when all of a sudden I feel something Big and Heavy getting on top of me starting from me legs then it moves its way to my neck and I can't see it I can only barely look at my chest and barely my feet and at the corner of my eye I can see like this black blurr or shadow looking at me and I can't move and it makes me desperate so I start to scream until I'm actually screaming out of my dream and have someone actually come into my room and wake me up then I couldn't go back to sleep because I was soo freaked out, but yeah I have been trying to find out why this happens but I always hear that it's a demon or that someone's spirit is trying to do something and its trying to get you to help it but yeah I'm not sure what it is though wish I'd Knew

hey
This has happened to me too.
Please read my story because there might be a logical explanation for what happened, but I don't really believe in it.
It scared the sh*t outta me and I am almost positive there was someone lying on top of me and pressing their thumb on my throat, I couldn't scream or talk, I could only let out a whisper. I am pretty skeptic when it comes to demons and all that jazz, but now its happened to myself... Errr let's just put it this way, I'm pretty f*ckn freaked out! I know what I felt and it felt bad, I felt the presence of something evil. In my mind appeared a visual sketch of a dark blur, a shadow. I did not see it, I had my eyes open the entire time, I did not see anything, but I THOUGHT of it. It's just an image that appeared in my head, and it's not stuff I usually think of. Please read my story and tell me what you think:)

This happened to me tonight, and has happened before. It's now 6:55 am and I've been up since 4:30 am. I woke up and sensed a presence, or saw it I'm not really sure, right at the edge of my bed. All of a sudden it was ice cold and I wasn't able to move or speak. I was trying to yell and couldn't, so I tried another approach. I calmed myself down in my mind while letting whatever it was hold me down, then once I felt I was calm enough I focused all of my energy into yelling "YO!" but I managed to squeak out a quiet yo. After that, it left. I heard my dad talk of an experience like this once and my mother and sister and I have been known to show signs of psychic ability. Just thought I'd tell you peeps about this.

last night I was pinned down by a ghostly see threw blurry figure that was on top of me but this time I tried to fight it which is not possible and screaming, moving is not an option. Sometimes I will never open my eyes as I am way to scared to do so but when I did that's what I saw. After a few seconds or so it came right in my face when I had a look, i could smell its breath which made it even more scary so at that point I tried to scream or mumble the words WHAT DO YOU WANT, LEAVE ME ALONE. I can't remember how long it was on top of me but my last option was to pray yet I don't no any prayers so a just oneup and that's when it left. I am sure it left threw my body aswell. I am hoping to record my sleep every night to catch this ghostly figure.

something same happened to me and I was quite shakened... One night I was half asleep when I felt something heavy sitting on top of me and pressing my chest... I couldn't move, scream or open my eyes... I felt like I was being pulled out... I somehow managed to open my eyes and immediately it was gone... I was sweating and nearly wanted to cry... When I saw the time it was 11 at night... After this nearly every night the same thing will happen to me and when I open my eyes it will be around 11... I later when to the temple and had a black string tied around my hands to protect the evil from me and the thing stopped disturbing me... A months later I had an arm injury and had to take off my string so that I can put bandage around my hand... Later that night again tat thing came to disturb me... But this time around I could see it... It was a black figure sitting on top of me... Suddenlt it screamed I'm my ears and vanished... Frm that day onwards it started agin and whenever I wanted to go to the temple to tie tat string back... I coudnt, cause somethings always happens... I don't know what to do... I told my parents and they asked me to put the holy powder in my forehead everynight before I go to sleep... But it rarely helps...

Animals seem to have the ability to see or sense supernatural beings such as ghosts and demons. They can also predict storms, earthquakes, and even deaths. If your cat starts acting very strange, you should take note of it. I think someone or something was really there and pinning you down. For all anyone knows, it could have been an Incubus, which is a male demon who rapes sleeping women.

Hi crazgirl,
I think that mustang is spot on. While it can be very frightening there is a logical reason for it. It use to happen to me quite frequently and each time it happened it scared the wax out of me. As you get older it happens less and less. Thanks for sharing your story.

Be Safe and God Bless

This is what happened to me last night.
I was sleeping on a double layer Air-Bed in my bedroom. Suddenly I felt somebody scratching the air bed on the sides and like somebody trying to get on top of my air bed. Since it was made of "AIR", the difference could easily be felt(Imagine you are lying on your bed and if your friend comes and sits on the air bed, you would definitely feel some movement, wouldn't you ?)
Suddenly I felt somebody pinning me down holding my thighs. I felt an enormous weight on my thighs, like another person sitting on it. I tried to move... I couldn't...no part of my body could move and the weight on my thighs kept increasing. I tried to turn my head, lift my leg... But in Vain.
Then suddenly it was gone. I woke up from my bed and turned the lights on. Everything was normal. I knew such things have happened before. So I didn't make a big fuss out of it.
Thought will share this info.
Another interesting thing about this whole thing is that whenever this happened to me in the past, my EYES have always been closed. I am in my senses, but somewhat our eyes are always closed during such incidents. Wonder Why.

I have had three similar dreams over 5 years. It’s like I am groggy and just waking up and all of a sudden it feels as if someone or something has me pinned down by the wrists, I feel weight on my chest as if some one is on top of me. I panic with fear and try to yell but can’t I can only whisper or more like it whimper and cry. I completely sense that someone it there but see nothing. The thought of rape enters my mind. I am not sure how long this actually happens. But when I can finally move I am scared and it is so real you check the locks on the door and look around the house. It was just so real I thought could someone drugged me with something like GHB…

That's only ASTRAL PROJECTION. When we go to sleep our spirits leave our bodies and mingle with one another. It's super rare for someone to be conscious of it, but it's possible. Other symptoms are hearing loud humming or buzzing noises and feeling like you're being pulled up, kind of.

This is a very common thing for Jinn (ghosts, spirits, whatever you want to call them) to do. They like to sit on things for warmth at night. Like hot coals, or on a bed for body heat. That or they're making mischief. They will often pretend to be a dead relative just to stir up trouble.
Some scholars say that if you show an interest in Jinn, they will show an interest in you! So always resist them, and if you're religious, say a little prayer or recite the last two passages of the Quran. Jinn/Ghosts worship God as well, and saying His name will keep them at bay.
But what you described happens to me a lot too! There are more Jinn than humans in the world, and I think "bed-hopping" (I just named it that :D) is a popular sport for them!

there is a scientific explination of HOW the process happens but not WHY. Nobody knows why it occurs and it seems likely to me that these things can induce this process.

Also, don't listen to jack edwards, somthing is seriously wrong with what he is saying in several of these things.
