It happened 4 years ago. My daughter just turned 2. We moved into an apartment. As soon we moved in my daughter just refused to even play in her room. The only time she would even go in there is if I went with her. So she had to stay in my room.

We were the only 2 that lived there. I would leave the bathroom door open when I showered to hear her. The hall ran from the kitchen to the bathroom. When I showered I could see a shadow of a person in the hall. I would go check the kitchen and living room. As you guessed nothing there. My daughter would be sound asleep.

The TV turned itself off and on. No one would even be home.

My now boyfriend moved in with me. He woke me one night. Scared out of his mind. He says that he woke up to SOMETHING holding him down. No matter how hard he fought he couldn't move. (He is a strong guy) The 2 bedrooms faced each other with another hall in between. One night, both rooms' doors were open. I was sound asleep. I woke up and sit straight up. I was scared, but didn't know why. I turn look out the window. I turned to the door and a black figure came out of the other bedroom and into the living room. It just looked like a shadow with a black with hood on it. I had such a fear and like evil feeling.

We moved out as soon as we got our things together.

Great story. I think you had some really bad stuff going on there. I know it's especially hard experiencing things with a small child in the house.

Hi and thank you for sharring this story with us. I realy enjoyed reading it. I believe that even the best ghost hunters do fear spirits. I think it is because we never know what to expect. I was there a year. Then I seen the shadow. It took me not even a week to get out. I had to move in with my grandma. I will go check out the history. And talk to the now tenants. Write when I find out these things.

Hello gringabad. This was a creepy story to me. Seeing that black shadow with the hood also walking from the bedroom to the living room WOW! That's scary to me. But I do think that your little baby had a pretty good idea of the room right from the start. They say children have a good sense as do animals of good/bad spirit/ghosts. Thanks for your story... What you have described seeing, gringabad, sounds like a Shadow ghost.
What you describe your significant other experiencing sounds like Sleep paralysis.
I would suggest to you that these two occurrences were unrelated, and that they simply happened at around the same times. That is not uncommon.
I suggest looking up both topics to see if they coincide with what happened in your apartment. Just keep in mind, as you are researching, that it IS possible that these were unrelated.

Sounds like it was an evil spirit to me. The fact it gave you that evil feeling, your Daughters reactions, your boyfriend being held down and being unable to move and lastly the black figure. I think you was wise to move out of the house I would have done the same. The spirit sounded like it didn't really want you there and would probably have done more than it did to have got you to move.

No one could ever blame you for wanting out of that place ASAP-most people would have done the same considering you had a child to protect as well. I think your baby daughter's reaction to that room was a pretty good indicator of what the figure's intentions were.

I don't suppose you ever spoke to any of the present tenants to see if they had also experienced anything? I sure would have been curious.

Oh man, I would have done the same thing you did. Get my stuff and get out specially an appartment when you can go out and find another. Now, a house unless you are renting it it's a little harder to just up and leave.

Hi gringabad, thanks for the story, why does it seem like everything happens in houses and apartments,, I mean you very seldom hear of a school, or pool, or anything like that, I just recently posted a story about the aparment me and my mom lived in. Which I thank the people on this site for letting me publish another story to share with ya'll, Again thanks for sharing, ya'll were lucky to get out of there. 😊 ❤

You know, out of the hundreds of stories I've read on this site, I think this is one of the very few where the person has just "gotten the hell outta there" before things got worse. Good for you!. That would be my response if I experienced what you did. Rather than sitting on my tush and wondering and whining what's going on around me, sometimes the best thing to do is just leave.

There was surely something in that house! Good that you moved out of it! It must have been really terrifying to see those shadows. I know I would have been! And the part where you said that your boyfriend was held down to bed, that sounds like sleep paralysis. Very interesting story and looking forward to reading more!
