The Cookie Ghost

This story comes from South Orange County in Southern California. I was employed by a company for about two years ago and while speaking to a fellow worker, I was implored to share her story. I have taken the liberty to translate her information to provide a better understanding on her experiences.

This Orange County location was initially built to support a local military base with logistical support but was later sold due to budget cuts. The son of the building's architect, who was only two years of age at the time, had mysteriously disappeared on the grounds shortly after construction. Overwhelmed with the incident, the boy's father, Mr. Turner, would roam the building during closing looking for his son, Sam. Rumors claim that he was so affected by the loss that he ended up loosing his practice and soon after passed in his sleep.

It now houses a local cookie company parallel to an expressway. The two people I spoke with had been employed with the current company and attest to have heard the name of the little boy being whispered through the halls of the second floor. Although no sightings have been ever witnessed, there have been several odd occurrences in which doors slam, lights flicker, and a person whimpering is heard from a stair well nearby. A former employee who goes by the name of Meche claims that she left the job due to tremendous feelings of depression since starting the job. "I would feel uneasy working the second floor after closing hours, I hated it." Meche, being a religious individual, believes that it was Mr. Turner who had returned after death to look for his boy, Sam.

This is her personal opinion on what went on during her brief employment with the company.

Who would let a 2 year old kid out of their sight at a construction site that was just completed? They never recovered a body. Isn't it possible the child was abducted? Sorry but this story doesn't ring true to me. If the man drew up the plans for this building he had to know every nook and cranny. He would have known every space a child that size could be hiding or accidently fallen into. The facts just don't add up.

A similar thing happened to my father before I was born, with beer in a pub.
I went back there once and saw a boy in old fasioned clothes giving a similarly dressed man a bottle of beer. 😕

I wonder where the boy could have disappeared to? How big is the place and I wonder if he could have gotten kidnapped or something? The poor dad. How sad this truly is. What year was it?

Hello DizzyGallespi, and I love your name by the way! Your story was written very well to be your first and thanks for sharing it with us. This story is very sad to me being that the father Mr. Turner, died because he missed his son so much, probably from heartache. The feelings of depression your friend had are from his presence. The doors slamming could be him searching for his son in all of the rooms. The lights flickering is his presence being known to anyone who is there upon arrival. The whimpering is also from him crying in disbelief that this happened and the whispering is the father too calling his sons name. I believe that this property is haunted especially the 2nd level by the sound of it. How did he disappear? If you can find out the history of what happened on that property it would be great to find this information out.

It is very sad that the father's spirit is still wandering because he is not at rest. If you can find anything out about the boy, it would help him feel at peace. Someone could let him know this to help him with his transition. Just by telling Mr. Turner that you will help him find out anything that happened to his son might help him to go into the light and be at peace. Thank you for sharing this story.

Maybe you can update here with another story about this disappearance and what happened on your findings. Take care. P.S. Sorry this is long.
😊

That is really sad. I hope that Mr. Turner finally reunited with his son. I just hope what he found of his son wasn't too bad. This is so sad. ❤ Jasmin
