There's Someone Outside

When I was 14 I lived in Pennsylvania. We lived in a ranch house in a small development, where all of the nieghbors knew each other and were friends. We lived on a hill, so our neighbours weren't very close to us. Our front door opened into our living room. We would hear loud stomps walking up our front porch then stopping at the door all the time. It wasn't every once in a while, it was ALL THE TIME. We would look out the window and open the front door and no one was there. Sometimes there would be tiny knocks on the window and no one was there.

One day I was home alone and sitting on the couch in the living room reading. I heard the stomps and waited for a while to hear if anything would happen next. Then I heard whistling, right next to the window. It didn't really have a tune. I looked out the window and no one was there then it stopped. I called my mom in a panic telling her I had heard someone outside, but she didn't believe me, and hung up. About a half hour later, I heard the stomps then the whistling.

I told some of my neighbours about it and one told me that about 50 years ago, someone was stabbed on our front porch. I think these sounds have something to do with that story. Also, why would it be making all those sounds? Are they trying to get our attention?

Thanks for reading and please give me some answers.

Thats scary! I wouldn't like for that to happen to me. But I've had worse happen, so, I guess you got lucky on that end.

But, whenever that happens, don't answer the door if no one is out there. It's not a good sign. I've been dealing with ghosts my whole life, and I know not to answer the door. Do whatever you like about the situation. Just don't do anything that you wouldn't do infront of your grandmother.

Things like this happen with spirits all the time. They are just afraid to move on. It usually happens when someone is murdered. That is a scary thought. As long as he isn't causing any harm I would say you are fine. I would tell you to do your best to not mess with it. If it does start moving things around that means that its trying to get your attention. If its not in a negative way don't be afraid to ask what it wants. Negative ways as loud banging, breaking things, things they will know will really scare you or harm you. If not negative he might be wanting to ask for your help. Helps them move on sometimes 😆

I agree with Paranormal Spectrum, that it's the leftover residual replaying of someone "coming home from work"! Have you ever tried some standard warding off kinds of things, like lining all along the bottom of the steps and then in front of your door with salt? If it's residual, it will keep happening probably. If it's a conscious entity, supposedly it won't be able to walk through the salt.

That's a spooky story about Pennsylvania, which is just as haunted as Tennessee. I think the confusion about the states is from the fact we're supposed to note where the story actually happened. In any case, thanks for sharing your experiences. And, hey, as long as the guy coming home from work doesn't demand you have a fried chicken and mashed potato dinner ready for him when he gets home, you should be ok! 😆 ROTFLOL

Best wishes!

I also hear weird noises out on my porch & I have no idea what is causing them. I've had the police here & everything but nothing has ever been found. You can read my story on this subject if you would like. 😊

Hello people! Sorry, I have been gone for so long. Um... This story, WOW. You really shouldnt stay home alone, or like lock yourself up in your room and turn on the tv or radio loud, close the binds for the windows, etc, and TRY to ignore the sounds. However, if they get out of hand, don't ignore them. I couldn't imagine being in you're position. How old are the people on this website...? Because I'm kind of young but don't want to say 😕... Anyway good luck, stay safe ♥

It sounds like it might be residual. I don't think you should worry. It doesn't sound like it wants to cause harm. It sounds like he's just coming home from work or something. 😆

Nothing to be afraid of unless it starts to attack or moves thing. Spirit tend to repeat what they do. More like a replay of the past life they have. Like I say to many be strong and what it is won't harm you.

Wow...Kind of mean of your mom to not believe you! 😕 Well, Tennesee is a very haunted state anyway. (I know, because I used to live there, and still have family there as well) and isn't that where the Bell Witch haunting took place? I don't know what to tell you to do about YOUR haunting, other than try to not stay home alone, or maybe play really loud music when you're home alone so you don't hear it as easily. I always felt like maybe the loud music would keep the spirits at bay. (Silly maybe, but hey...it's worth a try!) 😉

Wow, that's kind of spooky that someone was stabbed on your front porch- not something the realtor would bother telling you about!

Perhaps it was still attached to its former life and not ready to leave yet, since their life had ended so traumatically. If that's all it did while you lived in the house, then I'd think that it was just letting you be aware of its presence, so long as it didn't venture anywhere besides your front porch. That would be ultra creepy to hear someone outside when no one was there!
