Ghost From My Army Days

To tell this story I will have to tell you a few things about where I was based during my 9 years Irish army service. First of all I was based in a military camp in Donegal Ireland. The accommodation was long wooden cabins divided in the middle by a partition and another door at the partition leading to the next dorm. So basically two dorms to each cabin. Now all the military installations in Ireland were built by the English military during British occupation here and handed over when Ireland became a republic.

One night myself and one of my fellow soldiers had just arrived back from a weeks patrol leave and we were sleeping in the back part of the cabin we were the only ones left there as the rest was cleared out due to everyone moving into the new accommodation that had just been finished. After chatting for a while we both went to bed and he fell asleep fairly quickly. I on the other hand was feeling a bit restless so I sat up and lit a cigarette after a few minutes I heard the door open in the first half of the cabin. I heard someone walk in and then silence then I could here the beds being dragged around and thrown about. I woke my mate and just told him to listen and he heard it too then the door flew open violently something walked right through opened the back door and all just went silent. When we both looked into the first dorm every bed had been thrown about the room turned over and some even piled on top of the other. I can tell you we were both scared out of our wits, I was a sergeant at this stage of my army career had been on overseas duty and had a lot of ghostly experiences in my life but never anything as scary as this but for what happened to me in the graveyard in Dublin when I was younger.

Anyone got any ideas on what it might have been...

hi, I think somewhat along the lines of torabla. It may be a deceased soldier. Perhaps he's angry because his belongings were discarded and perhaps he had something dear to him in the barracks. Sounds like he was whipping the beds around looking for something. Only a suggestion, but it didn't reveal itself to you or harm you. I'm sure I would have tucked tail and hiked it off to the new barracks, after my paralysis left me! (I was born in Donegal, Ireland).

That is scary! My dad was in the Air Force so we moved around a lot to different homes and bases. We were always nervous about what sort of home we'd get next!

That, my friend, is scary!...Did you have other experiences in this particular dorm, or was that the only one?...Has the building been demolished, since the new ones were built?...Some one was definately pi**ed off! πŸ˜†...I think I would've gone to the new dorms THAT night!...
Great story...

There is a lot of negative energy in that area. The spirit was a mad spirit some how he was expressing his anger by moving the beds around or as you discribed it throwing the beds around. Maybe it was a soldier who passed away in that cabin and it continues to haunt it. How scary...

Wow that sounds really creepy... The way you described it was as though someone or something was having a tantrum about something. And used your dorm as an exit and stormed out.
For a spirit to throw a mattress must mean it could be some kind of poltergiest?
Have none of the other soldiers seen or heard things while you were there?
