Monkey friend present and accounted for 510mot. I felt this story was blankie worthy from the beginning too but decided to see how it played out. Then she started with her All Caps attack on our mod-granny. That's when I had to put out the call. Never monkey with another monkies monkey... Right? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜†

Taz, I need a t-shirt too. One with pockets big enough to hold my turbo action flux incapacitator with protective goggles. 😊

Man! I am so happy to have been invoved with this fiasco! The Loonies and at least one of my Monkey-friends was in on it. Zzsgranny came at it with both barrells. I got called and tossed what has to be the greatest B.S. Blankie of my short (but fun!) blankie throwing career. And all the posters I hold in the highest regard were here! This is something I think we will all remember for some time. And I feel like I am part of the community more now than ever. SWEET!

The part that made me not believe was that the hotel manager brought you aside into his office. Uh my parents wouldn't let that happen to me especially in a strange country. That is way over the line. Plus that sounds a little too far fetched. Unless this is a ghost hotel the manager wouldn't want to advertise that they were haunted. Plus why would the hotel manager make sure who was in what room and at what time. I mean the peoeple anyway. I've never had a manager pick out what room I was staying in even when I complained about something. THey always had to look it up. But yes. A hotel manager would never just bring back a girl into his office. Big no no

Who do people think they need to make things up? If they don't have any experiances to post that's fine comments are good enough but to write a bit of fiction just to get comments then get angry over there own mistakes being shown to them please do us who want to enjoy real experiances/storys a favor and find a fiction site for your storys.
I would not normaly say anything if caught out by a tall tale but I felt the need to on this 😒

SuicideOrchid: I have had disbelieving commentors on some of my stories, and yes, I welcome skepticism...I'm not "dissing" Blacktears/SophXx, I gave her an opportunity to explain that there is not enough evidence to support the manager's story, and it is possible that he had his timelines, etc wrong... But all I got back was a "dis"respectful comment asking me what my problem is?...

I'm not one for kissing someone's butt just because their little feelings may be hurt... This is a site for mature people with real experiences, and if the facts don't add up, the B.S. Blankie gets thrown... If some want to post stories that can be disproven by a little bit of research, then they need to understand that those of us who have had REAL experiences will call them out...

Anyone interested in why the original author of this story was Blacktears, but guest SophXx is the one answering the questions and comments?

And now Blacktears is commenting about how this story that he/she wrote is unbelievable.

Bit of a slip... You need to make sure you are in the right account when you are talking to yourself.

zzsgranny - wow, I totally agree with you. How could I have not thought of that before! A teddy bear, 150 years ago!? And you mentioning her disease when it was actually poison that killed her!? That's just crazy. SophXx, before you write a false story, you may want to check your facts or someone that has a brain like zzsgranny, Pjod, BadJuuJuu and me will eventually figure out that this is total crap.

SophXx,
This is a forum for people who believe in what many deem unbelievable. Since we are low in numbers, we tend to scrutinize so that we can determine the truth. Maybe if you answered some of the questions posted here or legitimately argued over the inconsistencies you've posted, some would give you the benefit of the doubt.
But at this point, those of us who aren't trolling for teenage girls, need a little more substance and a lot less attitude.

I'm really sorry SophXx but I really don't believe in this, I mean why would they just keep the bear in the room, no offensive but I would just throw it away. If this upsets you then I won't say anything else, but I really do think this is a lie.

One more point I think worth mentioning is the term "weekend" is a contemporary term, not in usage 150 years ago, as at that time, people had to fend for themselves, and only took the Sabbath day off: Christian: Sunday, Jewish: Saturday, Moslem: Friday...

SophXx: Maybe I can explain why a few points of your account have fallen to closer scrutiny:

Anyone who has children will tell you that there is no way they'd allow their 12 year old child to go anywhere with a strange person (no matter what that person's profession)...

The earliest representation of a "teddy bear" was mass produced by a German company named Steiff... They began production of said bear in 1907, 100 years, not 150, prior to your "encounter"...Most of these bears have not survived the ravages of time, let alone the hugs of their owners... Most stuffed animals made before that time were homemade, and even less likely to survive... If, on the off chance, it was left behind by them, it probably would be displayed in a case, either in the hotel or at a museum, given it's amazing condition for it's age...

I don't think any parent would leave behind their child's most prized possession...

"the little girl died from a disease that she caught during her stay and in her arms was the teddy bear"

The family of 6 was there for the weekend, two maybe three days... Poisoning isn't a "disease" that you "catch"...And if she was poisoned, that would have been a detail to NOT leave out...

So, are you sure you have the details correct?...Maybe the kind manager had his story wrong?...I'm sorry if your feelings are hurt by this, but according to your story, you're 16, and should be mature enough to handle the criticism...

Seeing how this site is for the sharing of true ghost stories, telling non-believers to keep it to themselves is naive. All ghost stories defy common sense and so by posting you can expect most of us to temporarily suspend disbelief but it is the authors job to convince us to make the suspension permanent. Its clear that you have fallen short of that goal for some of us. Our posts are every bit as legitimate as those of the people who you have convinced.

I'm sorry, but I also do not believe this. Having worked in a hotel, let me just say that bear would have found it's way to the dumpster quick, fast, and in a hurry. No hotel is going to keep something like that around.
A hotel manager is not likely to advertise the fact that someone died in the hotel. That's the sort of thing hotel management likes to keep quiet. Knowing that someone died in one of the rooms, however long ago it may have been, would put some guests on edge. Unless it was a famous historical figure, or the hotel is deliberately advertising itself as haunted, management isn't going to talk about deaths in the hotel.
You say in the story this child died from a disease, then in comments that she died of poison. Now I'm confused. Which was it?

zzsgranny

1. No, my parents stayed in the lobby, he said that he wanted to speak to me in private. Yes I was feeling very awkward but I just went with it.

2. No, she did not die from a communicable disease, the manager said she died from some kind of poison, she got weaker everyday and in the end she got so weak that she could not walk, speak or eat but she still kept her bear close to her.

3. Yes the bear was the original one that the little girl had, I would say that it was very old and bits of it were falling apart. The family did not take it home with them because they said that the little girl would have liked to stay with her bear, always.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask me anymore, Take care

SophXx: Just a couple of questions:

1. Were your parents with you when you went into the manager's office?...

2. Did the girl die from a communicable disease?

3. Was the bear the original, or a duplicate, and was it left behind by the girl and her family?

Yes, that was a sweet STORY. I find it hard to believe as it sounded like something you would write in a SATs paper (Your subject is a ghost story. You have 25 minutes Hand paper in at my desk). A mananger that can barely speak English randomly sits you down and tells you a story about the history of a young girl and her teddy bear. Hello!? Oh yeah, and it seems FAIRLY unlikely to have a conversation with a girl of the past. "You hugged the bear close to your heart" Seems like something you say, not do.
