Hi Fergie
Dit is 'n baie ou huis ja!
The bathroom still walks out into the kitchen.
In the old days the toilet was outside in a little 'shack', but it was later build onto the stoep.
The stoep was later closed and is now part of the house, but it also just next to the kitchen!
My fiance's father and his fater, etc. Was born in the house and many of them died there as well. We must sleep in that room if we go to visit, and I get te strangest dreams there! And had weird experiences there over the years too.

Hi Nysa, an interesting observation. I never gave it a thought, the feeding bit. Yes, I suppose it is very possible that previous residents fed their own pets, or even strays, from the kitchen. The dog definitely looked like a stray, it was very thin and matted.
I am also glad that my first 'sightings' were not scary. If they were, I would most probably still be heading for the hills hehe... 🤔 Thanks for your in-put.

Hi anneke8, Jy is so reg, nie net in die nag nie! Most of my later 'sightings' were all in the day. Now that I 'know' what is happening, I am not nervouse about these things. In the beginning, I was alarmed, but never 'poep bang' (scared).
Yes, it is strange that I saw both a dog and a cat. It was only the once, that I saw these animals. I heard scratching in the old coal stove, but that was possibly rats.
I would love to see the 120 year old house, it sounds very interesting.
😊 😊

If I were going to live in a haunted house ghost pets would be my first choice. It is interesting that you were in the kitchen both times you saw something. I wonder if previous residents were in the habit of feeding scraps to cats & dogs of the area from the kitchen?

Defnitief nie net in die nag nie! My fiance's father lives in a house that is 120 years old in Goodwood in Cape Town. His great grandfather build the house in the 1800's. And let me tell you, every old house has its entities.
I also saw cats that vanished in thin air, of I could feel them on my bed when I sleep. But I am a cat lover, and I am sure it is some of my cats who died that came to visit me sometimes. As for the stories about cats suffocating babies, I also heard about this, but my cats loved my baby, and slept with her inside her cot. Strange that you saw a dog AND a cat though.
