Guys, in the upper right corner of each submission is the date of submission. This story is well over a year old. In addition, if you click the name of the author, it will take you to that person's profile, where you can see that individual's most recent activity on the site. The author of this story hasn't contributed anything in over a year. You can request further information and email contact until you're blue in the face, this particular author is inactive on the site and isn't going to see it.

Guyz... Believe me this is just a STORY and nothing else. I fully agree with 'Maniacmedic'.
It was not hard for author to mention details here or at least reply to email of what the spirit told to him but that was never happened. I was curious about author's response, hence I send couple of emails to him (knowing that I am not going to get reply... Guess what no reply until date). I do see lot of people here are waiting for his response but friends as I mentioned earlier this is just a story and do no expect a response from author.
My direct question to author - If you have any info with you why are you hiding it? But I must appriciate your writing skills as the STORY was naratted well.

[at] Maniacmedic As a "man of science", I believe you must try to keep your mind open. Look into the Hindu scriptures and references. OP has done his homework alright. Whether you may tend to believe it or not is a completely different matter though.

BhatakatiAatma: First of I would like to commend you on your writing skills, but you ruined your story as you progressed. And yes I mention this a "story" because it is precisely that and not a true account. I am from India too and am familiar with your concepts that you stated here. As a man of science I refer to what you said as BS! I mean come on!... Humans are made of fire, space, air, water and earth? Sounds like the cartoon "captain planet" and what next? Sugar and spice? And everything nice? Your comments regarding to what happens to someone after death had me laughing for quite a while. Humans walking around with silver cords attached to their souls! Reading your comments, I am forced to imagine you as one of those mantra reciting old tantriks. You also blew it when you said you would divulge the rest of the information at your email address. Is it too good to post on here? You say it's too detailed, I don't see any limitations on here regarding to publishing accounts. I don't mean to be rude by my statements above but you are misleading a lot of people by leading people to believe you were privy to secrets no one else has.

I hope to never read a piece of fiction such as this and waste my time on the belief system of another, am here for TRUE paranormal accounts.
Regards

BhatakatiAatma - Though this sounds like a very old story that I had heard a few years ago about a girl asking for a lift and being dropped near a certain house and when the boy goes the next day to collect his jacket from her, her parents say that she has benn dead for few years and he finds the jacket neatly folded and kept over her grave. I will still give you the benefit of doubt.

Does this mean we'll be going with a Hemmingway theme now? Oh please tell it's Hemmingway time! Please! Please! Please!
I've been just dying to use this one
Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.

Now that's got to be one of the most ominous lines in all of literature.

BhatakatiAatma,
Regardless of what your personal opinion of me might be, spouting this sort of rhetoric, (see below)

"I simply used words in Sanskrit which does not mean I am pushing religious beliefs, had I used contemporary words in english or french then I am not pushing it according to you... This indicates that you have a prejudiced mind and thought process against any other culture or religion apart from yours."

This does nothing to help your case. Those are more likely to come from someone who has painted themselves into a corner. They don't work here. As evidenced by the fact that they have been ignored by everyone. And though they were tried by another poster earlier, they were ignored then as well.
I am merely pointing this out in case you didn't notice it yourself. We don't think in those terms here. And you would be well advised to keep that in mind in any future posts.

BhatakatiAatma: Thank you for providing that bit of information...But, as I echo Nysa, none of what you've presented has come from Ratna... This quote from your account:
"If anyone is interested in the information Ratna gave me about life after death, I would be willing to share."
Is misleading... Many members were led to believe you had some inside information that has yet to be divulged to any human other than you...

I'm not going to throw the Blankie on your experience, however, I will take my leave of this thread... Unless I need to come back with a fire extinguisher...

Thank you for posting

I wonder what people here understand recruiting...

I am not trying to spread religions beliefs or views. What I have been doing right from the start is sharing information starting right from the basic. If I am saying email, I mean it. As for those interested in scientific journals and books:-

1. Life beyond death - Abhedanand
2. Field Guide to North American Hauntings
3. Beyond the grave
4. The Ghost Hunter's Survival Guide: Protection Techniques for Encounters With The Paranormal
5. Scientific Paranormal Investigation: How to Solve Unexplained Mysteries

Those who are interested, can start with this... There are many more to read through.

From my very basic knowledge of India, it is my OPINION that there is a melting pot of beliefs and cultures, so you could say. There are some who claim to have vast spiritual knowledge and even gain large followings because of it. I hope you are not trying to do this?

I hope my question below won't go unnoticed...

BhatakatiAatma: I think we can avoid any further adverse discussions if you could just provide the names of the journals and studies, and also those involved in the research... If it's published, it will be available for those of us who wish to research this subject on our own...

I need to post this from the "Comments Guidelines":

**Finally, the comments section is not a recruiting tool for your particular group or organization, please don't constantly ask people to contact you for more information instead of helping directly.**

I'm not saying that what you're doing is recruiting, but asking other members to e-mail you for more information is frowned upon on this site...Again, provide the simple information about the studies and the names of those involved, and let US do the research... Thank you.

I don't mean to be nitpicking here, yet I'm extremely curious how one communicates (for hours) at a subconscious level with a spirit? I only ask because you were driving at the time and at least for me, I like to try to give my full attention to the road, surroundings, traffic... Etc. So how does one accomplish communicating subconsciously while doing something distracting such as driving? Maybe you can teach us all something new! Or perhaps that's something people already understand, and I'm just the nube to this concept and my foot will be in my mouth.

I love to travel and have thought India might be an interesting place to visit. People I know who've been there say the traffic is wickedly insane.

Btw, I have no interest in emailing you. To be honest, it comes off "kind of" creepy. If you have knowledge about your experience, why should you be withholding it?

First of all, I am not talking about an imagination but an experience. I am calling a spade as spade, as simple as that. When I am talking about international studies, ofcourse I am talking about scientific studies and no religious beliefs. These studies have been well documented and reported in scientific journals all over the world. As I said earlier, since this is very detailed information, I can not put it all on this site. If you are interested to know about the scientific studies and journals details, shoot me a mail at bhatakati. Aatma at yahoo.com.

Good question Lou and I was thinking the same thing myself... I have walked around my home OBE many times and never once did I notice a silver chord attached from my spirit to my body? And on a couple of occasions these experiences where validated from people of whom I made contact with, which rules out mind projection, imagination etc...I'm not trying to disprove this account, I found your story quite interesting but if you make the claim you have the answers to the afterlife, I think it's fair to be scrutinised by others in such a way... I have my own beliefs about the afterlife, but I do not claim to have the answers... I think it may have been better bhatakati to present your beliefs as more of your own conclusions, as I do find some of the points you made interesting and would encourage you to keep sharing your experiences.

In what way you feel I am recruiting or pushing religious beliefs?
I simply used words in Sanskrit which does not mean I am pushing religious beliefs, had I used contemporary words in english or french then I am not pushing it according to you... This indicates that you have a prejudiced mind and thought process against any other culture or religion apart from yours.

Okay, I did a little research on my own and got the opinions of a few experienced folks on this. The mind projecting an image is a possibility. I am not saying that the story has no truth to it, but this is a possibility.
Bhaktiaatma - It is a possibility that your mind projected an image for you and you deduced the conclusion. There is nothing wrong with it. And all I am saying that this is a possibility. Physics and metaphysics have concepts of distortion of light which cause us to believe that we are looking at an object of matter, when in reality it is the light creating a shadow of sorts. At such times, the mind tends to overpower the other senses and 'creates' an event. This happens to the best of us. In Marathi, we'd say 'Kaavla basayla ani faandi tutayla...' To translate simply, it means two events taking place in such a time frame that they seem to happen together.

To add to that, Harnai is a beach village on the Konkan belt. At beaches, especially at night, there is a significant change in temperatures at a difference of a few feet. Due to this, the pitch and note of sounds traveling across the distance change drastically and seem like words or human sounds. Again, I am not negating your experience, just trying to provide a logical explanation, hoping that it may help.

I know both the concepts because I am a trekker and have traveled the length and breadth of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Sikkim, Uttaranchal and Bengal until date. If I don't find explanations to all the phenomenon that I come across, I would have volumes of ghost experiences.

My suggestion - When you get back from your onsite, get in touch through this site. I'll do my best to either help you analyze, or understand from you the delicate nuances of your experience. Both ways, I will get to learn something new...

Peace!

BhatakatiAatma,

Please explain what happens when someone has an out of body experience when pronounced dead. By your account, once the silver breaks, it cannot be restored. The individual often times travels away from the body and either views their own body as it is lying dead, or travels elsewhere... How is life restored in these instances, in your opinion? I know an individual who was submerged in water for over thirty minutes and was revived after being pronounced dead at the scene, and again at the hospital. The human brain cannot function without oxygen for this length of time, and at a minimum; significant brain damage should occurr. This person is very much alive, today and her experience whilst dead is amazing.

Since what you were told supports what you already believed or at least had already been presented, the logical explanation is that Ratna was a projection from your own mind. However, I realize that a person who experiences such things will come to their own conclusions. Because you have come back to share what was requested without requiring any further info- by the way most people consider it creepy & I understand the site does not allow you to tell people to e-mail you for further info- that leaves room for the possibility you are being sincere & at least believe this happened as you present it. It would help if you were specific about what this spirit told you, presumably she did not simply recite what is available in books (etc)? Most importantly, you say that what you are sharing can be backed up by international studies, it sounds like you are saying scientific studies. If you are aware of such studies please share the title & edition of the journals in which they are reported. Obviously they would be of immense interest to all. Lastly, if what you are sharing is the same as the beliefs of a specific religious or spiritual system please make that clear, prostelyzing is not appreciated, so if the information this spirit has given you is simply an existing belief system the most appropriate thing would be to state that & allow people to research the beliefs on there own rather than presenting it as fact.

What you are doing is callsd recruiting. This is against the rules here. You had to agree to the stated guidelines of the site to be able to become a member. In that agreement you agreed to, it clearly states that pushing your beliefs here is not allowed. Is this kind of behavior part of your religious beliefs?

The information I shared was the simple information for starters I could put out on site.

For those all who are really interested in this subject and minute detailed information and questions you may have, address those questions to me at my mail address and I will be more than happy to inform in details.

There are so many areas on which I had no information at all but came to know from Ratna.

You can address any questions at bhatakati. Aatma at yahoo.com

Thank you for making my point fur me. No, you didn't google these facts, I never said you did. I googled these myself to show that they were nothing new. I also said you were aware of them anyway. And what you claim you learned from this girl were things you were aware of prior to meeting her. So how you claim this is a paranormal experience is beyond me. You learned nothing you didn't know already. Seems a little fishy that's all. It is also preachy. That is not allowed on this site. Double talk your way out of that.

[at] Jav,

First of all, I didn't to google any of this information. This is what I have been informed about and read about in books. If you do not have those books as source of information, its not my problem.
Secondly, I am not trying to spread my culture or anything. The fact that I used Sanskrit words does not mean to spread any cultural beliefs or theories. These facts are researched extensively by paranormal activists all over the world in US, UK and many countries. They all have come up with same information. If you are not aware of it, its not my issue.

Well, that was confusing. I suppose that explanation roughly equates to: "The soul detaches from the body."

An interesting read, nonetheless. This is the longest convo I've seen in regards to a story here, yet. 😐

Don't misunderstand me, I find the subject immensely fascinating. However, bringing it here and claiming it came to you from an encounter with a spirit, and not as something you would have previous knowledge of because of where you are from and the culture thereof, is basically seen as recruiting others to your belief system. Which is highly frowned upon on this site. We do have a sister site that is more tailored to this type of thing. If you go to the top of this page and click on the link that reads 'Spirituality', it will take you there.

I'm sorry to say this, I really am. All you are saying here has been said before. There is nothing new to any of this. You are just repeating what your culture has theorized for many long years. So I fail to see any new revelations in any of this.
You must know that all of what you say here will be heavily scrutinized. And one thing that is unacceptable is the promotion of ones spiritual beliuefs. So far, what you have given here, can easily be googled and your words basically match what comes up from that search.
I fail to see how this is any different than someone posting their religious beliefs... Sorry, but I see nothing convincing enough to show this is from a paranormal encounter.

I had exactly same question to ask to my grand-parents what you had. The reason my grand-parents told me the road being haunted was because of beliefs about a fisherman who was seen in that area for few years after his death at nights.

About the information I got from Ratna about life after death was pretty similar to what I had read and heard between my encounters with her. It had nothing to do about the myths and local beliefs in the area around.

[at] Jav,

First of all, I appreciate that you have an honest comment and stand firm by what you say. Its not easy to do that.

I would be more than willing to share the information I have and will keep updating as and when I get time. I can be little slow and late to reply due to other work commitments, but I will ensure to reply as soon as possible.

How paranormal entities take humane form:-

A human body is made up of pancha tatva as I had already said earlier. A specific combination of these 5 tatvas make a specific type of matter. This matter exists in each human being. A paranormal entity extracts this matter from human bodies and use it to form shape of human body. It take immense concentration on part of the entity to hold on to this and the moment the concentration slips, the matter thins into the air and the paranormal entity disappears. This happens at times making the paranormal entities disappearing suddenly. Also at times the entities can not pull out enough matter to form complete human body but only part of it which makes only certain body parts to appear visible.

What exactly happens at death:-

Before we go into what happens at the time of death, let's understand a connection between human body and soul. There are quite a few terms in Sanskrit, and I will try my best to explain them -

A human body what we have is made up of 'panch-tatva' - 5 subtle constituents of matter:- Akash (Space), Vayu (Air), Jal (Water), Agnee (Fire) and Prithvi (Earth). This is the body that we see to our normal eyes and is called a 'Sthool Sharir.' Apart from this 'Sthool Sharir', we also have a 'Sookshma Sharir' which is not visible to normal eyes and is made up of thin air. It is over our normal body or 'sthool sharir' as if we are wearing a complete body suit over the body. These two are connected to each other by a silver cord which is invisible to humane eyes. As long as this cord connects the two, the person is alive in mortal world. On top of the head, there is a 'bramha-randhra' which is where the 'Sthool sharir' and 'Sookshma Sharir' and attached to each other as long as the silver cord stays in contact.

What happens at time of death:-
At the time of death, the contact between the 'Sthool sharir' and 'Sookshma Sharir' is broken, that is when the silver detaches the two from each other. The moment this contact is broken, the person is dead. The 'sookshma sharir' starts moving out of the human body starting from toes and finally through the 'bramha-randhra' on top of the head. This may take a minute or two. A 'sookshma sharir' or soul as it may be called tries to go back into the body as it has been attached to it for years, but because the silver cord is broken, it can not re-enter the body.

Does the sookshma sharir has a weight?
Yes, it has been measured with scientific means across many countries in paranormal experiments and proved to have weight. Normally its two to three ounces.

WOW! The story is good. But I have to agree with the comments that this seems like a 'story'. I am no expert, and have recently sent an experience to the site.
I must say I have understood quite a bit by reading the comments of the more experienced members of this site.

Thanks for discussing all your theories.

I missed an interesting discussion going to bed early last night.

I have read some accounts that appear to be intelligent hauntings that only occur under certain conditions. I don't, myself, believe there can be rules because that suggests an authority which I don't believe exists. Physical or natural limitations make sense but the huge variety of experiences would make them difficult to tease out, though I know many educated guesses have been made. How about these possibilities. One, the spirit chooses to return to a significant place only on the anniversary of an event or other time / condition that the spirit finds meaningful. This assumes there is more to the afterlife than hanging around where one used to live & the possibility that it's possible to move between this world & any other a spirit might inhabit. Or two, the spirit believes there are limitations on when it can appear. It seems a real possibility that the afterlife appears to a spirit to be what it expects it to be, at least for a time, because ghostly interactions in different cultures seem t

mystique20,
That's a fair question. I think I'd like to know that one too. Heck, so much of this is gathering and comparing notes, see what matches up most often and guessing, that it's hard to answer some stuff. But I've always just taken it for granted that they could show up when they please, unless you give them the boot of course. But it is something to think about. I've always wondered about other little odd rules you hear people mention, like if they are grounded to one area, why is that? Is it a rule or what?

Ok 1 more question: Can intelligent Hauntings also be dependent on events for occurring or manifesting? I'm not saying all intelligent haunting; I'm just asking if its possible that some of them can only happen when other criteria are met. Sort of a cross between residual and intelligent. If this question does not make sense, I will try re framing it later.

Sorry for asking all my questions here... Maybe I should take it to my own story page!

Thanks for the answers...
[at] Jav, I'm not saying the entire experience as stated must have happened... I just said that some portions of it could have happened and most of the other seems like "additions" made to the original story. & if I had any answers from beyond... "I would share them... Atleast here with you guys:P
