I always enjoy "evil doll" stories, perhaps because I used to have so many dolls and bears and a vivid imagination to boot (never had any paranormal experiences with my toys, however.)

Some thoughts.

First, you were a pre-teen when this happened, at or near the age when this kind of stuff notoriously happens, driven usually by excessive, pent-up adolescent energy. In other words, it could have been you causing the doll's movement and not a haunted doll.

Second, I also am puzzled as to why you gave the doll to your daughter after those experiences. However, if the doll's movements were caused by your preteen mental energy, then no harm was done as you were long since an adult at that time.

Strange indeed Anneke! I have heard, & read, too many unusual stories about dolls, not to believe this. But, you still gave Dada to your little girl? Did it still have the 'evil' grin, when you found it again?
If I were in your shoes, I would have 'lost' that doll a long time ago! That sounds a bit too creepy for me. 😨
