No problem. And I didn't think it sounded snarky lol. It just sounded like an acknowledgement of other paths, which made me happy.

BadJuuJuu, Thanks for answering my question. I was afraid it sounded a bit snarky... 😕 ❤

Jennybear, that's a very valid question. I'll answer from a polytheistic point of view. I call on the deities I believe in, plain and simple. If someone tells me to try to cast stuff out "in Jesus' name," I just roll my eyes and ask my own gods for strength. It's why I tell people to follow their belief system instead of telling folks to pray to Jesus or the Abrahamic god. If their belief system involves Jesus, OK. If it involves Zeus, OK. We all believe in something. Whether its a particular deity, a pantheon of deities, or our own inner strength, we call on what we believe in.
And if people get snarky that it's Jesus or nothing, we just down vote 'em.

To all the people saying to tell the spirit to leave in "Jesus's name". What if the person doesn't believe in jesus? Or worship a different god?

That was a scary account. I think you should get some professional spiritual help-someone very strong. I wish you all the best, and please keep us updated.

I'm sorry you are going through this and am writing a response as a parent who is sad to hear this story.

Please command it to leave in Jesus' name. Please do this forcefully in every room in the house. And please pray and ask God to protect you. I'm not saying this in a churchy 'join this or that church or denomination' way. I'm saying this in a 'spiritually protect yourself by calling on God for help' kind of way. The way this is done is by trusting in God's power, not yours. Kind of like calling on a big brother to take on a neighborhood bully - you may not be able to do it yourself.

JustMeAgain31 - my thoughts are similar to BJJ's in that maybe he doesn't realize he's scaring your son. When I read your story, my initial thought was maybe the man was mentally handicapped 😕 I know that doesn't make it any better, but it might explain why he's laughs like he does and is doing the things he is doing.

Whatever is there crossed a line by harassing your child. Generally, I'm one of those oddballs who is content enough to live with ghosts, provided the follow the house rules. My rules are simple. Cause no harm, hurt no one, scare no one, and you can stay as long as you like. Cause fear or harm, you must leave immediately. Maybe this guy doesn't realize he's scaring your son.
What I would do, lay down the rules. Explain that he is not allowed to scare or harm, that his current behavior is unacceptable. If he does not get with the program, cleanse the apartment in accordance with your belief system. Or go straight to a cleansing. He really did cross the line by messing with your son.

Tell your landlord about it, maybe he's had other complaints. Ask him if he can tell you what happened to the last people who lived there. Research the land and see if anything significant happened there. Maybe take a family trip down to the library to buy some research time. Or, just ask to move to a different apartment and see if it continues. Best of Luck!
