aw:[ I am sorry it's bothering you then. I forget some people hate these experiences while others look forward to them. Are you trying to get rid of it?

Manafon- It was a very unique sound. As I said in the story, have never heard anything like it before or since. My description of it really didn't do it justice. That's the best way I could describe it. I'll never be able to forget it.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Will be looking for more stories from you.

Hey Wish-Not, I really found your experiences at this house extremely interesting and well conveyed. The sound you heard was particularly intriguing. It's a sound that doesn't make a lot of sense and that seems to be par for the course with a lot of paranormal stuff. In the early 1990s I was living in an old building with a German restaurant downstairs and three apartments upstairs. One night my then girlfriend (now wife) and I were awakened by the bizarre sound of a car squeeling its tires as if it was in our living room. It grew louder and louder and then the whole apartment filled with the thick smell of burning tire rubber!

We were completely stunned by all of this and we looked out the window to see if we could see a car doing this. A fresh snow had just fallen as it was February and ther was no car anywhere in sight, just the three cars of the people who lived in the building covered in snow and silent. Yet the sound persisted for five minutes. The burning tire smell was so bad we had to open all the windows and get out fans to disperse it. One of our apartment neighbors had an unused alarm clock in his closet go off at exactly the same time we were hearing the car tire sound. He didn't hear anything but the alarm which seemed impossible as the tire squeeling sound was so loud.

The sound, like the sound you described didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason but to attract our attention. It did! Also found your story of the stereo turning itself on intriguing. I had to unplug my new stereo at the time every night otherwise at three in the morning (or around that time) it would start a loud rythmic thumping that would rise in volume until it was shattering. The stereo monitor light would pulse in unison with the thumping. Took the stereo in to two places to have it looked over but was told both times that it was in perfect condition. I have a lot of wild stories from that place and I even uncovered a few answers to some through the local historical archive (like the identity of a full bodied apparition I saw one night). I will have to write of some of those later and shut up for now. Anyway, your stories have been truly interesting. Thanks for sharing them.

ifihadyoux-That would be cool and funny. But that's the reason I choose my screen name. This was nothing I wished for or would wish for. They still scrare me from time to time. I believe most don't intend to though.

Just dread coming across one like the one from this story. It was just plan mean. I had another bad one but a different bad. That will be my next story I guess. It was more... Well you'll see.

Thanks for comment. Always appreciated.

I imagined you disappearing in a cloud of smoke saying "wish not". 😆 Thoughts? 😉

spookie1- Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. Thank you for the kind words. It was a very intense encounter that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Politicians included. Lol

I've grown a lot since it happened. However, one never knows how they will react until it happens again. "WISH-NOT"!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Swimsinfire-Thanks for your comment. It was a frightening experience. Even though there was nothing to see in the shower, something was there and it was mad and I really believe at me. Most visits at our current location have been tame compared to that one. Some are even really funny stuff. I'll work on some more stories telling of these tales. Have a great week!

Everyone always asks,"do you know the history of the place" I liked your prequil to the sequil, "I don't know the history of the house, nor am I about to find out!" Hope your future expieriences are peacefull. Awsome story and well writen. Caught myself holding my breath until nothing was in the shower! 😊

elnoraemily- Thanks for the well being wishes. I felt like I was kind of rambling in my writing. Just reliving that night left me wiped out.

Problem free not so much. But nothing to that degree. We currently have a little mischief guest. Sunday it threw a potted banana plant off the deck. But they have been worst.

Appreciate your time and comments. Glad you found YGS helpful as well.

I have been waiting for this story, and I am very happy that it was posted. Your accounts are written extremely well.

I was going to suggest something wrong with the piping, but the fact that it keeps getting louder and louder is different from that sort of problems. Leaving for your own mental well being was an excellent idea- no matter what, if you don't feel comfortable somewhere, leaving that place is always the best.
I would have left after that sort of experience as well.

I'm happy that you found a place to vent your experiences and talk with others who can help.

Best wishes to you and I hope your future remains problem free <3

mimerkki- I just wish I didn't show as much fear as I did. Valkricry mentioned on an other story "just a handful..." that there were possible two different ghost there and the playful one tried to help to some degree. That's something that I have been thinking about. I do know that the last one intended nothing but meanness. And I was ill equipped to deal with it. Hind sight, I would have done Rooks cleansing and got rid of the darn thing.
Thanks for your time to read and comments. All are valued.

I am very happy, that you found your way here in YGS, (and that I found my way here). Thank you for your story. I don't think you could have handled that experience differently then, so it is not even right to blame yourself. The way you told the story gave me the impression, that the spirit in your house was seriously after you (or anyone trying to live in the house). It would not have been a good idea to confront it without help anyway.

lady-glow Thank you for the kind words. The visits now have not been anywhere as intense as then. Mostly just a quick visit and they are gone. I think lol!

I was seriously worried that I had something mean attached to me. However I soon learned and felt that I was fortunate that I did not. Thanks again for your comments.

valkricry- I guess the issues that I live with now from that experience is I didn't handle it very well. I should have stood up to it. But at that point in my life I didn't know. It definitely was not the plumbing.

That experience is what brought me to YGS. I needed answers. And happily I did find a lot of answers here just from reading the comments from other stories. I do appreciate this site. Thanks for the comment!

Ay caramba, que miedo!
Wish-Not: that was intense, I hope whatever it was went down the drain never to come back. 😐
Thanks for sharing this frightening experience with us.

Oh, Wish-Not...I do not blame you for feeling scared witless at all. At first (and I'm sure some will suggest it) I thought perhaps air in the pipes. I have a lot of experience with rogue plumbing and never -ever have I heard of it going down the drain. Then too there is that gosh-awful feeling you had... And seeing the compression of something sitting on your bed! Its obvious that you still have 'issues' with what you experienced, I could feel your fear as I read. I don't blame you for not going back there.
