Hi yomomma, so often I wish we had a crystal ball to see into the future. Naturally, you did what any good mother would do, by putting the dog down after he harmed your daughter. I may be completely off track here, but could it be that the dog was actually trying to guard your child, not attack her.

I know, I wasn't there - I don't know the whole story; could it have been that the dog sensed something evil hovering over daughter and tried to defend her? Your comment that there was so much paranormal activity in the house after the dog was gone, suggests this to me.
