Thnaks for the clarification, guys. I find it interesting that I got responsed from three posters I KNOW are always telling not just MOSTLY-truths, but total truths.

Hi Ohiowatha. The way I decide if I believe a story is first does it send up red flags. Does it sound like a scene from a movie, their reaction to the haunting- you don't see an apparation then shrug it off and go to sleep. If I am skeptical -I check their profile and previous comments to see which stories attract their attention. I do pay attention to my "gut feelings" too.
With this story I judged to be true because of her comments on other pages. The stories she commented on were similar to her own. That told me she was hunting for either answers or the courage to tell her own story.

Ohiowatha, I do not want reveal all my secrets but yes, it does involve looking at chicken entrails while going in a trance 😉 kidding. It's many factors at the same time, the way a poster describe their feelings, if the experience seems written in a "storyish" manner (finishing with "the end" is never a god sign), the poster's history on this site, the quality of the language, the expectation for the comments, etc. Of course, being chased by bloody zombies is usually a dead give away 😜 It's pretty subjective but after reading 2000 stories and more, you start to get an intuition with these things.

Well, Ohio, I can not answer for any one save myself, but I did not really think this story was all that UN-believable.
We have stories on here about ghosts having intercourse with humans. We also have stories about Underworld beings taking over forests. We have stories about children who talk to the Unseen. And stories about porcelain clowns who seemed to come to life.
The reason I brought those ones to light, and not some of the others, is that all of those types of stories have been portrayed (in some form) in the movies of our time. That in itself, should make some of us sit up a bit taller and pay attention to the words that are assigned to the name.
To be completely honest, I do not generally look at the name of the poster until I have read the story. Unless it is a story that I have personally been asked to check out. THEN I may go through and check out the names to see if the story made it in.
Some stories just do not feel right. There have been many times that I simply have too many unanswered questions and I will post them, wait for the answers, and then I will reread to see if it changes the story for me. Most of the time, it is the posters attitude in answering the questions that makes the decision for me. Often, if no answers are given, I must admit, I do jump to conclusions and say this must be fabricated. However, there are times that I continue to look in on the story (as in this case) just to see.
I realize that you may have written this comment in the rhetorical sense, and no answer was expected, but I thought it was a good point. I often wonder what makes the story more believable, the comments persons make BEFORE submitting the first story? Could it be the profile page of said persons? Or could it simply be the feel of the story? I do not know. I DO know that I take all into account as I am here for knowledge, and not merely for the fun of story telling.
Thanks!

Hey, Guys, I just have one question in relation to Martin's comment:

What makes this story any more or less believable than any of the others that crop up on here? To me, it is right in line with most of the type of stories on here. I'm just not sure why this one almost didn't make it through the filter when so many other even more unbelievable ones, not only make it through, but are met with resounding affirmation by very credible posters.

Honestly, if I know the poster's history, I believe them outright. Conversely, if I have been skeptical about a poster's story in the past, I'm less likely to believe them in the future. And usually, if I don't know the poster at all, there's a greater than 50% chance that I'll have some skeptical questions for the poster.

So, to me anyway, this story ranks there with most of the others--don't know this person, but am not immediately stricken with a sense of validity.

What I'm getting at as well is, do some of you have sensitive feelings about a poster? That is, do you think your 6th sense kicks-in and tells you one way or the other?

Just curious about how one goes about deciding whether or not a story passes muster and makes it on the board.

Thanks very, very much for your imput.

I guess I need to re read through the comments, because I do not think anyone gave the advice to "fight WITH" this unknown, but I DO think we were suggesting to fight AGAINST it's power, and not to just LET it attack any longer.
With Knowledge is Power, and in arming yourself with the correct "tools of the trade" you will be able to fight off the "dark forces" if that is what you truly desire.
You have been given some outstanding advice here. You have come to this site for a reason. You have to rise up in strength, and not cower in a corner and let it take over.
Think of it as an abusive mate. You DO have several choices. You could hide the bruises. You could try to act as if you are accident prone and walked into the door knob and it wrapped itself around your neck. You could make excuses for not being able to hang out in other rooms for an extended amount of time as you do not want to be in the presence of this thing.
Or- You can take control of your surroundings with the help of friends and your Higher Power. Banned together, even though we may be strangers just hanging out and discussing things on the Internet, your friends here can help to EMPOWER YOU to take action.
With the right knowledge, and with the arsenal available to you (with the help of others or alone) YOU can take this OUT of your home. YOU can cleanse the house and give it back the peace it deserves. YOU CAN FORCE THIS BEING OUT.
Take back your control.

I am sorry, I just stopped in to see if any of the questions had been answered and thought to tell you these things. I have read through some of the comments you have made to other stories and I think you need to know that you CAN do this.
YOU really, really can.
Thanks again.

Next time you sense his presence, banish him in the name of Jesus Christ. No spirit can withstand that Name if the banisher puts true faith in it.

Be blessed!

okay, you say why is it able to hurt 'us'. Who is us? Who else is it able to hurt? How long has then been occuring?

First of all, pray, pray, pray! If indeed this account is accuratte, and there are others, I am certain what ever is in your home does not mean to do 'well' by your family.

Hang a cross in every room in your house, especially the bed rooms. Pray out loud. Even when and if you can not hear 'it', see 'it' or know that it is there, you need to tell it out loud that it is to leave in the name of the Lord. You may also seek spiritual counsel from whatever sector you believe.

There are some wonderful instructions on a smudge ceremony on this site by SHane.

Keep us posted.
God Bless!

First: Some people said You should fight with it, it may be not smartest thing and even may get You killed. Dont see anyone have idea what it actually is You are dealing with so be cautious.

You have some choices:

1) Leave that building for good.
2) Fight with it.
3) Let someone else fight with it (may be best idea, as it may not related to certain house and may follow you, also You may not have strength to stand against it.

I can try to protect You, I know I can stand against some creatures but as You are very far away, not sure can I sustain myself so far.

Still if next attack happens, first be calm and don't move if You don't need do, just calmly say (no difference does You say it loud or just think of those words): Terra thes xtro du intecrale, terra thes xtro du omenal. If it works, well You get ride of him, if not, You should try to find someone closer to You with knowledge of destroyng things like it.

If You use what I recommended, let Me know did it work (well I think I will know if it worked but still ;) ).

I have read your previous stories and to bee honest with you, find religion as you see it and gather supernatural strength in a, "Higher Power"! I certainly would not continue to live in such a horrible existence. Take some of the advice on here.I'll keep my eyes out for more of your stories/feedback.

Nightgoddess,
I thought I would add something to my last post: I have a theory that I am working through for you, but in order for my search to continue, I would have to have some of (or all of, preferably) those questions answered.
In my belief system, we have various entities that perform certain actions. There are specific reasons and circumstances that MUST occur for these entities to "rise up to conquer" and in order to STOP these entities, the person effected MUST have all the details of the activities.
I truly am NOT trying to be vague or to mislead you into thinking that my questions were written in disbelief. I am honestly trying to HELP. I believe that is why you took the time to check to see if the submission page was open, and I believe that is why you took the time to write all of this down. I DO NOT think that you are purposely trying to be evasive by not answering, but I wonder why it is that you have not joined in the discussion?
I would like to try to help you, as you specifically asked. If you could just please help out a bit more...
FRAWIN has a great point here. You DO need to stop being passive. It is time to become as aggressive AGAINST these attacks as humanly possible and to use the tools needed to defeat THEM. Do not let them defeat you, or pull you down.
There is so much more for you out there than what would be "hidden" if these entities were to win.
Thank you.

Nightgoddess, you are an easy target, you don't fight back, you refuse to defend your space. Are you mad yet? I hope so, I hope you get mad enough to make a stand. Start by defending yourself and your story in this section. Get mad enough to arm yourself with the knowledge to defend yourself against your attacker. Knowledge is power-take the power and take back your space. It belongs to you -not it. There is good and knowledgeable people on this site that will help you-you just have to ask for it. The choice is yours - be the victim or be the victor.

Hi guys, I just wanted to say that I normally wouldn't have published this story but when I checked the author's profile page, there were already some comments about her bad experiences with a ghost and it added to the credibility as this story didn't just popped from nowhere, or from an anonymous poster. I agree it's difficult to believe, but not unheard of. I encourage Nightgoddess to talk about it more in the comments are. We won't bite 😉

Not saying this didn't happen as related but it does sound a bit far fetched. I am also not calling anyone a liar. If something like this happened to me I would have been out of that place in a heartbeat. I don't know if every bad spirit was once human. They say there is a world of demons that have never been human and hate humans because of it. All sorts of theories out there but I guess its also possible to have a break with reality although I am not saying this is the case for this person. Crazy people don't usually question their sanity and I know I would have been questioning mine had this happened to me.

Hello Nightgoddess,
You have me pondering a few ideas here.
This happens in more rooms than just the bathroom?
How long have you been in this home? How long have you been experiencing these attacks?
Have you tried telling it to leave? (If I have a bit of a panic attack- not saying that is what happened to you, just using an example- sometimes I can be overheard saying something like " Just stop, leave me alone")
Does anyone else live in this home? Has anyone else ever felt like things?
Thank you.

the same things have happened to me, to be honest I just ignored it because I'm not religous or spiritual and it just seemed to get bored. If nothing you try wks read the comments on my stories and try some of the suggestions posted by others, I hope it works out 😁

Bit strange that you have let this continue to happen, I would have moved out, had that not been possible I would have sought any kind of help to get rid of him.
This being has no reason to attack you I assume, its very rare that people who have passed come back as evil spirits out to target people in a physical way. Even if they are evil they would tend to make your life hell by scaring you not attacking you. What you are explaining is way beyond poltergeist even.

This sounds little farfetched for me. Sounds like you just took it straight from a movie. Good written piece of fiction though. Very entertaining. Very unbelievable though.
