I think he thought it may have been a intruder. Thats why he fired the gun. Most people don't jump to the conclusion that every bump in the night is a ghost... Unlike a lot of people on this site haha

How can you think that a gun will protect you from the paranormal? I think all that's going to do for you is just make them want to follow you and cause you more grief. Personally I believe they just want to be noticed and helped, how would you feel if you passed on but your soul was trapped between life here and the afterlife? You wouldn't want to be shot at that's for sure. I just think that you should put your toys away and come to terms that your bullets are not going to save you from something that is already dead.

I think ranger probably gets the idea by now about guns not being effective against supernatural entities, right ranger?

Ranger, if you want some ideas on offensive and defensive platforms you can deploy against supernatural threats, look in my profile. I have generic ways that anyone can fight off entities that they may accidentally invite into their lives (usually via a Ouija board), you may get some ideas there. Guns only work against threats that originate in our material plane of existence (things that have a physical body to hit), not on things that are in the astral or ethereal plane.

Besides, you'll put your eye out!

Like the comment I already stated to you in your other story, you are extremely superstitious and this second story submission is only more proof of that fact. Put the guns away dude, you're going to hurt someone.

Flying Nuns were popular back in the day as well, Luca. Sorry, I could not resist the temptation of that comment. Sally Fields was delightful.

What in the world?
For someone who seems pretty knowledgeable in the IDEA of ghosts, mythological monsters and the like, I find it hard to understand why it is that you choose firearms as a means to defend your home.
Firearms.
Think about that.
You would fend off a being from another realm who may very well simply be a mist...
With a Bullet?
😕 Yep. I am confused.
Thank you.

Oh I see, you are the same person with 2 stories bragging about your arsenal of weapons.

I've never heard of a person who literally SHOOTS or aims guns and knives at ghosts.

Just for the record, and I know I've already mentioned this, but I can promise you, 100% that your physical weapons will not harm or deter spirits/ghosts/aswags. The only thing you can possibly accomplish by shooting aimlessly into the air is either:

A) you hurt a person
B) you hurt an animal
C) you damage someone's home/vehicle

Why not try lighting some white candles or continue sprinkling salt? Say a prayer. Call a medium. Wear crystals. Call on a god/savior (Jesus perhaps?). Holy water. Gosh, what everyone else here has recommended at one point or anything would be of more use to you.

Use something other than things meant to penetrate flesh, as ghosts have no flesh.

This was interesting to read. I really like the part about the head of hair bobbing past the 7th story window. I read similar to this in a Japanese ghost story. I'd like to use this occurance in my paranormal fiction.
I aslo liked the part about that person in front of the gate. Very chilling. It sounds to me that this house has some very interesting things going on. 😊

Well, having a gun in your hand certainly makes you feel braver; he probably needed to hear something else besides his terrified heartbeat.

Hey Ranger, what do you mean by "my girlfriend saw a human head (hair) "? Human head-hair? Like a wig or something?

Dude, flying nuns are quite popular these days, I wonder why...

What is with the guns today?

Why do so many people actually believe that their guns will scare away ghosts?

They are already dead!

And it impresses absolutely no one.

I have guns too, but you don't see me brandishing them or going around firing them into the air every time something spooky scares me, and then bragging about it like that's anything to be proud of.

Yes, the bullets do eventually have to fall to the ground. They are fast and heavy and could kill someone or damage their property.

I appreciate you sharing the story, but enough with the shooting of guns at or near ghosts. I can only imagine someone would do this as a teenager, but at some point you must understand that only bad can come of it.

What is with shooting the gun up in the air? Do you not understand that bullets have to come back down to earth, and chances are very strong it will hit something living. Do you actually believe a supernatural being that is intent on frightening you... Will be afraid of a gun?
You cannot hurt or kill something which is not alive in the first place!.
You fight spiritual/supernatural beings with spiritual weapons... You bring in the experts. Don't give in to fear... This is what they want...Blessings, Ghostseer 😐
