Well, well, Hello Peter! Strange and yet quite expected that while you restrain from responding to so many posts on your own story, you are back to "spread the world of our LORD" in another person's experience.

So here you're back talking about demons and exorcisms again... Anything else you'd like to add while you're at it... In public and not in anyone's e-mail?

Since you consider yourself quite obviously a man who speaks the truth how come you never defended yourself when you were given the chance or defended your LORD when you were challenged... Or maybe you had taken the "silent oath"?

Get some holy water and spray it around you. There is an exorcism prayer to St. Michael here which you need to learn and pray. Http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Rhodes/3543/exorcism.htm Find a good priest to bless some salt and use it liberally around your home.

Do 3 decades of the Holy Rosary daily. Study Catholicism and convert before it's too late. The world simply can't see beyond it's nose and treats these "ghost story" cases with a perverse, infantile curiosity, not knowing what will be waiting for them at death. Remember Christ said in Luke, "But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?"

Additionally, the entity you see may also be a soul in purgatory which needs prayers and fasting to be let loose to see the bliss of the vision of God. Next to Holy Mass, only the Holy Rosary is potent enough to alleviate such souls. God bless you.

A dark shadow does NOT mean "demonic". Why do so many people associate black with evil? It means your very accidental visitor could or would not fully manifest. To fully manifest requires an amazing amount of energy that some spirits cannot accummulate or will not accummulate unless there's a serious reason to do so.

Judging from the reaction of your visitor who I think was a drifter, the spirit didn't want to be seen or perceived. It passed by but stopped to observe your world for just a few moments, pet your cat and maybe "be reminded what it felt like being alive?"

I think your visitor was nostalgic and far from threatening. Your chasing him/her around the house while he/she was trying to hide away only comes to prove that you were not meant to have seen him/her.

Their visit was a "brief pause" in a looong journey. You should feel blessed for being given the chance to catch this unigue "glimpse of the other side".

My sister and I have had several experiences with a shadow person, We call him the Traveler, he just seems to stop by once in a while to check up on us. My daughter's friend has seen one too. Also a patient I met in the ER (where I work) saw one just before he got sick. So far we have never felt threatened or scared, just perplexed as to who or what he is.

Mine peeks around corners, my sister's stands in the hallway looking in the room at her, as far as running out of the room, he hasn't but another "ghost" did that one time when my husband startled him. I guess it reacted just as a live person would act if startled.

Hopefully yours is a concerned guardian or visitor and nothing else.

Some entities choose to hide. This was definitely NOT a demonic presence. Do not be afraid. If it was a one time thing, you may have had a traveling Spirit on its way through the residence. If it is appearing at other locations you happen to be, then write again. First time paranormal experiences can be a bit scary, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Blessings, Ghostseer (Take it from someone who sees Ghosts every day)

I think DeviousAngel made some very good points. I do not think it was a demon either, for the same reason as the cat would have been freaking out, I believe animals can sense if a person or a spirit has an evilness to them. I also agree that if you see this figure again you should attempt to communicate with him or her in some way. A spirit can indeed simply disappear, but they could have been recently deceased and still doing things similarily to the way they had been when they were alive, or they may not know they are no longer alive. Help this person find the light if you can.

I am new to YGS and what you might call a skeptical believer. I try to find other, logical, explanations to stories.
I would definatley agree that this is a scary situation but approached scientificaly, it can be explianed.

First you said the figure was pretty tall, well laying down makes everything taller. You said the tv was on behind it, well if someone stands in front of a light sorce, the front of them does get darker. The fact that it was black is only because of the dark room and the light sorce behind it. Eyes have a tendency to blur when something dark is if front of a light sorce, hence giving it an appearence that you could see through it. Then you said the figure ran out of the room as soon as it noticed you were looking at it. Sounds to me that it may have been one of your brothers friends petting the cat and he was startled by you. He may have ran back to the living room and pretended to be sleeping. The only explanation about seeing it in the kitchen and then run out the door is that your mind was already startled and, because you just woke up, still sleeping alittle. Think about it, why would a ghost run out the door when it could simply disappear?

Again, I am not trying to bang you about your experience, but I am trying to offer some explanation and some peace of mind. You should never be scared to be in your own room. I hope you read this and seriously take some time to think it out and not jump to a paranormal reason.

Your friend,
Theprofessor 😊

Good advice DeviousAngel. We have to remember spirits once had a body like us so we are to treat them like you would any other living person. You wouldn't let another living person dictate your daily life and I think it's important if living with a spirit that there are rules of consideration. Not that it's ever happened but if I had a spirit living with me I would try to send it to the Light. Doesn't seem right to have an inbetween kind of half life / death if you get my drift. But I conclude like living people you, can't force a spirit to move forward you can only encourage it to do so.

Hello redletterday and welcome to YGS! I think you actually had a GOOD experience, as scary as it sounds. It sounds like this spirit is a shadowperson or perhaps a very shy spirit. It doesn't sound in any way like it wants to hurt or scare you. I think it just wants you to notice it for some reason, perhaps just to let you know that you're protected, or because it feels lonely. I definitely say "no" to it being a demon, because a.) I don't believe in demons and b.) if there were such things and that's what "he" was, your cat would have freaked out and taken off. It probably wouldn't have been nice to your kitty either.

Try to be brave! If this happens again, acknolwedge its presence verbally and tell it that it's scaring you a bit, or if you feel that you should, perhaps you can try to communicate with it and see if it wants anything.

I hope this helps!

Warmest blessings,

DA
