Fine. We fall back into the argument 'You can never prove it did not happen, therefore it probably did" However, no one has ever proven, EVER proven that anything has ever moved without being able to explain it.
The minute someone has proof that things can move on their own (or because of "ghosts") a couple of things will happen. One it will be all over the news. Two, that person will become rich.

Same thing with aliens. With all these abductions that apparently happen you would think someone would have an alien on tape or something by now. However there always seems to be the convenence (with ghosts at least) that video cameras do not seem to work well enough to record these events.

WolfReal,

I beg to differ... So I shall. (In a moment)

Being a skeptic is wonderful. It allows one to truly look at any and all possibilities and rule out anything and everything natural. Once that is done one is left with FACTS and FACTS tell the true tale.

Now as far as Spirits and things not being able to move things... Why do you think it can't happen? I have personally seen something move without any VISIBLE means to make it move. I know there is some thing 'beyond the veil'. Something that can, and does interact with the living because I have experienced it and that is the biggest FACT one can have, ones own experience. Yours was strange to be sure, but even from your own statements it could have been 'natural causes' from your own actions that caused what you experienced. That does not mean every experience posted here is a tale of FICTION. To be fair there are some that can be explained as natural events/effects but there are others (many others) that fall into the Paranormal Realm.

Again being a Skeptic is GOOD. Being an argumentative, unreceptive... The only opinion that counts is mine so I will not even listen to others... There is no other viewpoint and IT JUST CAN NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE IT IS NOT REAL. Is not good.

We come here to share our stories, to try and learn from our shared experiences NOT BE TOLD HOW WRONG WE ARE BECAUSE, "There are no "ghosts" that can move physical objects. End of story." Please come here with an objective and open mind, not a rock solid BRICK between your ears. Climb down off your high horse and LEARN with us.

Respectfully,

Rook

(My apologies to the Moderators but I had to say something.)

The only reason you see this thing as a ghost is because your mind shuts down. It goes into a feed back loop of imagination. Your mind is playing tricks on you.
I could go into you attic and do all the things I told you to do and do you know what would happen? Not a thing.
I told you to do what I told you to do because by doing it, you would break the lock your mind puts on you.
There are no "ghosts" that can move physical objects. End of story.

At the risk of seeming trite, my advice is (1) stay out of the attic or (2) tell grandma she can make some cash by selling the doll on e-Bay -- but make sure that she discloses its noctural activities. There are people out there who LOVE these things! Why? I have no idea. They're little chaos-creators, in my opinion.

[at] rookdygin, I beg to differ everything wolfreal has done and not just on this story but others to, is attack. We are all here to try and help each other, as well as learn from each other, not attack and insult.

[at] Rook, I respect your comment.

WolfReal HAS had some good comments, however this one (to me) is not.
My guess is that SINCE he's a skeptic, he doesn't believe that this is a ghost.
But I know what I saw that night wasn't one of my dreams, and poking an angry spirit with a stick isn't going to make the spirit any happier.

If I had followed his advice, it would have just made things worse, and I don't appreciate that.

Sakura/Surya,

Not everything he has said has been bad. By reading his posts there are times when his thoughts are clear, well thought out and just plain make sense. Then there are the ones that seem, snappish, irritated and almost like another person is at the keyboard. (I can take a guess as to why just based on WolfReal's comments in various stories but it's not my place.)

Being skeptical is a great thing when one is seeking answers but remember, after everything natural/normal is ruled out then whatever is left must be the truth. (do we always know how or why, heck no, but I believe that 'line' can be crossed or at least blurred so that we see, hear or feel things.)

We are all here to share our experiences so that we may learn from them. (Ok, not all the stories may be fact. I hope so, but we have to face the fact that some of these are works of fiction but we can even learn something from them...) A closed mind is an empty mind and that is a horrible thing.

Respectfully,

Rook

[at] Woflreal, that is probably the worst advice I have ever had, or seen.
You DO NOT provoke these things, you show them respect. Otherwise you can end up with a seriously pissed ghost on your back, or a poltergeist, and I want neither.
I haven't been back to my grandmother's house, as she lives about 2 hours away. And when I'm there, I don't go up to the attic or anything.
Telling the ghost I'm going to smash it, that it's a b!tch?
What the heck?
Are you stupid?
That is so cruel. I wouldn't do that to a normal person, let alone a spirit, even if the spirit scared the crap out of me on purpose. Two wrongs don't make a right...

[at] sweeties: You were right, I asked my Nana. The doll was made with human hair. And my grandmother bought it at an antique flea market. Apparently it was made in the 1890s, for some rich girl, so maybe her spirit is tied to it.
The voice I heard laughing WAS female, so maybe it was the doll after all.

[at] Surya: Ignore WolfReal, as he's just not worth it. He obviously knows nothing about the paranormal, and I'm not sure what he's doing sticking around here, giving bad advice.

Ive heard of people placing ashes of a loved child or loved one inside a build a bear or even a doll. Could placing ashes in a teddy/doll make it haunted I wonder

Well listen. Do you go to this house any more? Look what you need to do is find this doll again. Sit it down in the attic at night or during the day, doesn't matter. Sit it down and have a nice chat with it. Call the doll a little Btch and ask it if it wants some. Tell it you are pissed that it got the better of your mind and if it thinks its gong to try to do it again you will be ready and waiting for it. If it wants to stare at you, you will do it longer until you get tired. When you get tired tell it you are going to smash its head against the wall or floor, your choice. Tell it if it has a problem with that you really don't care. Tell the doll you own it and it will do what you tell it to or it will do nothing at all. If it has a problem with that smash its head against the floor or wall, your choice. In fact I you probably slap the doll before you have your conversation with it, during and after as well.
Do these things then report back. Ill tell you what to do next.

[at] rstahley:

What my Nana said was
"I think you just had a nightmare because the creepy doll was next to your bed."
I think she kind of believed me, but not quite. It was hard to tell at 4 AM lolz.

I am sensitive to the paranormal, though not a psychic. I can't explain it.
I can feel ghosts and their presences (mostly in my house), but can't see them.
Unless they show themselves to me.
Like this one.

Your story really creeped me out. From the moment you said that you were going to sleep in the attic, I was saying, "no, don't do it," and I hate scary dolls. I had a porcelain doll when I was a kid, and I would push her hat over her face.

Anyway, I agree with everyone else that the spirit was using the doll to scare you, and the doll was just a creepy doll, and I think the spirit could sense that you were frightened by the doll. I think it's odd though, that your nana didn't believe you. If she lives there, you would think she would have experienced some things herself, but then again, maybe because you are young, you were able to have that experience, like that movie the messengers.

That was a very scary experience for you I bet! I would have probably start crying because I really hate porcelain dolls. Have you been back to your nana's house again? Has anyone told you about the history of the house yet?

-Keep Strong, Adriana ❤

Guys, thanks for your comments.

[at] hobbyholly, I thought I was still asleep at first, and I rubbed my eyes, but the moonlight illuminated the entire room, and it was like, a big shadow. It felt cold, too. The bed was in the middle of the attic, almost dead center, and the half that the black mass was on was very cold. The other half of the room seemed to be normal temperature. But it was very weird.

And in fact, there were weird things happening on the other three days, like, I heard footsteps coming from the attic, but when I went to check, there was nothing.

And the doll, when I turned on the lights, it was laying on the pillow next to mine, face turned towards the place where I'd been huddling under the covers, saying the Lord's prayer. That's why I was so freaked, it was like it was staring at me, waiting. Ugh.

Also, the doll was 100% ON the ground beforehand. There was no way it could have gotten on my bed without being physically moved, because the bed was about a foot above it. If I'd knocked it over, it would have been on the ground.

It was very freaky, but the reason I wasn't screaming or running out of the room (at first) was because I've watched all those documentaries/tv shows/Japanese horror movies with the paranormal. I just felt that if I left, the thing would follow, and that the best thing to do was to use God's power to protect me.

I agree with you, Hobby, what is it about dolls that creeps us out? Especially the old ones made of porcelain? I think it has something to do with those old 70's movies with the voodoo dolls that if you broke their necklace it came to life! JEEZ!

Sakura, I have no idea how you kept your composure, I would have screamed at the top of my lungs and/or passed out. I agree with ghostreader, you should look into the home's history, but I don't know if I would worry about the doll so much. I also agree with Sylviessweeties, I think the spirit was using the doll to scare you, not that the doll was doing anything. Although it wouldn't hurt to look into the history of the doll either, just for giggles. Good luck and keep us posted! 😊

What is it about dolls? Seriously?

ANYWAY: This black mass. Could have been an object in the room that your eyes were trying to focus on. Sometimes when one wakes up, it takes a second to register what they're seeing.

And the doll was on your pillow? How close was it to your bed? If it was close enough, during your moment of panic (i.e jumping out of bed) it might have just "rolled" over onto your bed or fallen on it.

Well I can say that it might of not been friendly the spirit. Using the doll was its way of making you firghtened. I would find out as much as I cold about the house and about the doll. Did the spirit try to hurt you. But I am glad that you are ok. I am a mediam one who sees ghosts quite often. The fact that it happened on the last night is quite puzzling. I hope that you can find out as much as you can so you can come to a better understanding of what happened and why take care and God bless

I think it was a mean spirit using a doll with big eyes to lay the doll next to your pillow in the dark so when you turned on the lights there was the doll looking at you. The spirit making the doll look haunted doll and out to get you.
I ordered a precious moments, angel doll for my baby Anjeni tonight that prays in a childs voice, possibly the lords prayer, there's 1 left on e-bay, Wonder what would happen if you put a praying angel/religious doll next to the creepy looking doll?
