I have also searched the Internet upon reading this story, and my oh my, you guys are right. Seems this spirit is a regular in the Ouija sessions of different people around the globe. It's really fascinating how this spirit can go around like this. Is it possible that other spirits are using its name? The spirit may be really powerful and other spirits may know that to be so and just might be using his name that's why it goes around pretty well. Well, whatever it is, hope it does not bother you too much again. And as I always say, its really not a good thing to mess around with Ouija boards. Not for fun, really.

You know the name you used for this Demon is so similar to Pazuzu, the Demon used fictionally as the antagonist for the movie The Exorcist. Pazuzu is often depicted as a combination of animal and human parts with its right hand pointing upwards and its left hand downwards. It has the body of a man, the head of a lion or dog, eagle-like taloned feet, two pairs of wings, a scorpion's tail, and a serpentine penis. But I think you use that Demon's name too much. You give him more power in your life just by recognizing his existence. I know of many Demons and their tribal like names. Demons are Angels and even the Angels who retain their white wings can be just as dangerous. They can kill people in the form in natural disasters and tornadoes all the time. It's time to start memorizing a good old Psalms 91 and say it often: (This has been known to divert tornadoes and hurricanes.)

Psalm 91
God's Umbrella of Protection

(91:1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (91:2) I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (91:3) Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. (91:4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. (91:5) Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; (91:6) [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. (91:7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. (91:8) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. (91:9) Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation; (91:10) There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. (91:11) For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (91:12) They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (91:13) Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. (91:14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. (91:15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. (91:16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

God Bless you and Protect your Family from all evil! ❤

Darren:

WHAT WERE YOU THINKING TO LET SMALL CHILDREN PLAY WITH OBVIOUSLY DEMONIC SPIRITS?!

I have GOT to know: why did you contact it so many time even after you were aware if it's malicious nature?!

No to be mean, but it just doesn't make much sense to me... Care to clarify?

Darren,

You are saying a lot more by your actions than you are saying with your words. Getting burned is most likely when one is playing with fire. Consider the audience here. Mostly young people I think.

Darren,

I am quite facinated by your encounter. I read that you have had more encounters with "ZOZO" I would really like to hear of the other incidents there have been. Also, before reading this story I was very tempted to use the Ouija and after reading this I am probably not ever going to. It is frightening and no one really realizes the dangers of it. I would enjoy talking to an old family member that passed, or a friend, but you really can't pick who you would like to talk to can you? If you could email me at vmoneyb7 [at] yahoo.com and tell me more about your experiences I would greatly appriciate it.

Thank you,
Valerie

I don't like that picture! That picture that you have with the story, it tastes terrible!
Ok, I know what you're thinking: this girl is a weirdo, she tastes pictures. Let me explain. I'm a synestisiest (I probably spelled that wrong) which means that my senses are crossed. People like me are scientificlly proven to have greater skills of association and memory. We also sometimes taste sights, like I look at a rose and taste butter. That picture tastes like dust, but somehow worse. It feels like fire. I know I'm being a bit dramatic, but seriously it does. It looks like one of the pictures is of a crab, and then one is a skull. It's utterly creepy. Oh, and the name (which I don't really want to type because that would make me taste it again) is this sick, dripping green color. It's nasty. You're honestly not kidding about this, are you? Wow, that must be freaky. You're brave to put up with that.

darren. Forever stop with oujai boards now oke?... Because if zozo chooses a target he stays with it until its tortured traumatised anouf... To keep it in its grip until the target dies. And he isn't afraid to show himself because he is a strong and mighty demon

Oh, WONDERFUL Darren!
I was SOOOO hoping!
You know, the Great (and sometimes unnerving) thing about music is that if it is a song that has lyrics, the BEST ones are ones written from experience. The instrumentals are FELT rather than "heard" (so to speak) so it IS in interpretation.
I will have to check out that blog.
It is a really interesting topic, I do not want to go TOO deep, but it would be interesting to get the overview.
Thanks! So glad that things are going much better!

The past week or so has been really peaceful. I followed some advice from "ghost seer," and activity seems to have halted. I have been encouraged by the comments here. Take the time to read Jake Kotz's blog "Rant in Z minor." He also believes there is "something" up with Oz/Zo phenomena. The whole ideology behind this stuff makes for some fascinating reading. Who knows what secrets lie within?

Say, erin, I was just about to point you in the direction of THIS story as I caught an "old" comment of yours asking what a Ouija looked like.
I see you found it, though.

How are things, Darren? I am tempted to e-mail to get the answers!

I really enjoyed your story. I have always been afraid of the ouija don't no why, maybe its because I know of the power it holds whether its good or bad. I was once asked by a friend to use the ouija board, as her husband had just died I bluntly turned her down knowing of the dangers it posses. We can not know of the dangers until we start messing around with the board and I guess by then its to late. Its like a drugs it pulls you in and strips you of your true self. I hope your daughter, s okay now and you do indeed write a book as I would be the first to read. God bless ❤

Zozo Seems to be an reptoid who is the guardian of limbo! Also named "The destroyer" in christian dogma. Wow, reptoid! When I started my search on zozo, I did't think I was finding stories about the Annunaki!

Hey thanks for your comment on my "possession" story, although that was my first and only experience I have had with an Ouija board and being taken over, I have encountered ghosts/spirits/happenings before. Mainly in my teen years, however since my "possession" these experiences are now very rare, which is crazy to me because my experience made me even more of a believer. And you mentioned that your friend stayed very calm during his ordeal, I remained calm because although my body was changing in front of my eyes I didn't feel threatened or in danger in anyway, even down to being "tossed" around, I felt at peace in that moment, so if you can explain that haha. I'd love to hear more on this subject. Thank you!

So, Ghostseer,
Is THAT how he could know each and every time that he contacted an entity through the board that it WAS this same being?
That would REALLY make sense as it then had an "inner door" so to speak.
Thank you for jumping right in here and offering your services. How very selfless of you.

Ghostseer,

I have suspended all research into this subject for now. Last night something began to shake my bed. I'm hearing voices again, and I feel the more I researched this subject the more it has been showing itself.

Kat I have tried to email you through your website, but keep getting failure notices. Can you email me with a different address? I'm Darren at darrenteed [at] yahoo.com

I want to purge this thing once and for all if I can. I'm concerned for my little girl.

I see you have discussed this topic in great detail. I have read all the comments. You need to do an inner and outer cleanse as this "THING" has attached itself to you. This is why it is so easy to communicate with it. I was born with some very special gifts. My experiences with the Paranormal have brought me to some pretty awful places in the past 40 plus years. I see the other worldly, I hear and feel them, I experience their stories through visual, taste, smell and more. They seek me out, I have sent many of them on, but I am spiritually strong... Are you ready for the warfare?. We live in a world between good and evil. Some of us are beacons. If you don't know what you are doing, you can get really hurt. It doesn't stop with you!

This attachment? It will continue to trickle down onto your family members, attacking your friends (through sickness and more) IF you don't stop communicating with "it". Contact me if you would like some tips on blocking it from you and family (my profile page has my contact info). My story is there. It won't happen overnight, it takes a lot of strength on your part... To resist being drawn in. YOU know what I am talking about. I see behind the mask. Every person wears one. Reading your story, I got/saw what you have done.

I will not go into detail here, but you need to heed my warning. "It" is very dangerous. I have experienced evil in its purest form over the years, and I always feel terrible when someone PURPOSELY opens themselves to Paranormal taunting by evil beings. I appreciate your story, but now you need to turn things around. As you know, there are many levels of evil. Once invited in, YIKES!, you have opened up a can of "Oh-S**T!-What-Did-I-Do?".

I would be happy to talk to you about this, but will leave it up to you to contact me. Blessings, Ghostseer

Totally understood, My new friend. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that I was not trying to be nasty.
What an interesting set of facts you have discovered. Some of it I can see is BURIED in superstition. VERY interesting, as MANY a "church" (loosely translated, and NOT meant to describe any Biblical assembly) is just steeped in superstition.
On the other hand, it is also cemented in what, historically, WAS "fact" or "universal knowledge" at one point in time. The most interesting thing in THAT is that is usually how "doctrine" becomes... Worship (I know, that specific sentence was a bit vague. I have no clue how better word that).
A couple of thoughts on the ZOZO, NONO, 12 o'clock thing. Could (12) NOON also MEAN midnight? I realize that NOON would contain all of the necessary symbols, and MIDNIGHT does not. BUT, I always thought (even through the ancient texts) that NOON was a Holy Hour, and the Son of Light could only "stand" there. IF this ZOZO is purely evil, he/she would not be ABLE to stand on that hour.
Also, in MY Way of Life, a CROW (Blackbird, Raven, Blackbird...) means something drastically different. Crow is seen by some Native Americans as the left-handed guardian and keeper of the sacred law.
Raven is interpreted as the symbol of magic. Or others see him as the trickster and the mischievous one. Associated with battlefields and death they can also symbolise altered states, but not wholly. Many a Shape-shifter takes on the body of the Blackbird as Blackbird Majick is strong, creative, pays much attention to detail. There IS a great deal more, but I do not want to bore you.
I also got the name definition when I was looking it up. ZoZo means "To Live Twice"... In MY Way, to live twice is a BLESSING, and not a curse. To be blessed with a second life could mean various things (one meaning simply to reproduce) from a "second chance" to being reborn, to being reincarnated.
Also the "mirrors" are foreshadows of what is to come, and not something to fear. If we fear the future (our "reflected image") we can not live freely in the present (our "right" self) to obtain any of the necessary lessons of our life.
Make sense?
This is all VERY interesting to me, but we STILL have, as of yet, to discover WHO Zozo is/was. I am NOT asking to be swept away into the depths of darkness by immersing myself in the knowledge of how/why/HOW. What I AM wondering, and would like to know, is if he/she were a REAL person at one time, or if he/she was one of the first minions of hell (meaning those that never were of human form that BEGAN as purely evil presences).
There HAS to be a REASON for the specific haunting of the board. At times, knowledge is power, but sometimes there is too much power in knowledge. IF this being is truly ruler of the board, how is it that he/she can control things OFF the board? IF this being is the ruler IN the board...
How do we trap it WITHIN to destroy both the entity AND the board?
Thank you.

Whitebuffalo,

I didn't take your remarks as derogatory. If I sometimes seem defensive it's non-intentional and I am just used to having to stand guarded regarding the subject of Zozo. I have uncovered a lot of information about the term, and I am finding some very puzzling and interesting information regarding the different translations and definitions of the word it'self.

For instance, here is what one site has said about ZOZO. " Zozo is an ancient name,it's origins go to the beginning of time as one of the ancient gods." "The true name is quite secret, and it's legend will be forever sealed."

Zo supposedly means Spiritual Leader, with an African origin. Also of interest is it seems the letter Z was a hated letter in European history and was threatened by elimination. King Lear was quoted as making references to "The Whoreson Zed" which means Thou Unnecessary Letter." Roland Barthes has written an account of the old Balzaks novel "Sarrasine" which mentions a book called "S/Z." "The Z falls through a trap door... It cuts... It strikes out... It is the letter of defiance, the wound of lack." S and Z thus are in an inverted graphic relationship. "They are the same letter, seen from the other side of the mirror."

These old historical documents go on to read "The Z is mysterious, The Z is dangerous, the letter of the ZigZag. Source of Uncertainty, the Evil Double, Violence itself incribed within words, an exterminating eschatological letter."

In the book "memoirs of an excorcist" A "ZOZO" gun is used to battle poltergeists. The "ZOZO" bone gun is also used in the game "Final Fanatsy" and converts sex into a deadly energy to be pointed at enemies. This would seem to have Australian Aborigine origins?

There are many many African linguistic references as well. The term appears in a lot of old manuscripts and stories of Voodoo and ceremonial magic. In Zulu, Zozo means "Ulcer" or "Natal Sore", an intractable kind of spreading scourge forming on the feet and shins, etc. In coastal districts.

An Eastern reference is the synagogue of ZOZO in Tokyo. Seems to be some type of place of worship where large demonstrations have been held.

Zozo is also a term used in Creole French which literally means "Crow" or "Blackbird." Ann Savoy and Linda Ronstandt recorded as a duo as "The Zozo Sisters." Dartower Corporation is a "Zozo" based company. Whatever that means, it's unclear tome at this time. It appears the term ZoZO also has ancient Islamic references.

In African drum beats such as "salsa" and "rumba" zozo means "ghost." The references in Voodoo Magic are numerous. In one form of Voodou blood magic, a womans menstuation can be viewed as an offering for positive applications in a type of potion with warm leaves (ZOZO) or cold leaves (ZIZI)

Perhaps the strangest reference to the combination of letters may be in ZO/OZ Synchromystic phenomena. 77 is the numerical equivalent. "Symnchromysticism" as described by Jake Kotz is "The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical and esoteric significance." In Oliver Stones "World Trade Center" a plane heading for it's horrific destination cast a shadow on a "Zoolander" billboard in New York City. Aleister Crowleys "grid page" symbols converge in a Poster advertising "The Zodiac" and are found within the O in Zodiac. These and other "Synchromystical" insights with the ZO/OZ phenomena can be viewed within Katz's blog named "Rant in Z minor."

What interesting research can be found within a word! It seems ZOZO has more magical meanings than I ever possibly imagined. In the "Urban Dictionary" ZOZO means "A word used to awaken the wrath of Zoe." A greek translation is "To live Twice." In the movie "ZOZO" the boy focused in the movie has a spiritual guide in the form of a talking duck!

Lastly in an email sent to me from Jake Kotz, he points out that the Jimmy Page symbol used on the Zeppelin 4 album should be studied as Z and S are interchangeable. He says the ZOSO symbol is an "unmistakable affirmation of the OZ/ZO reversal." S and Z are often interchangebale, Oswald becomes OZ (just like in the TV show OZ) Australia becomes OZ...
Further tilt the Z 90 degrees and they can be Z's. Then ZOZO is NONO or maybe NOON (12 o clock)

"In words like ZOZO the letters OZ only repeat meaning boiled down it is simply OZ (77 in Gematria or Pan)."

"I would atribute any OZ significance and research as aplicable to your word ZOZO."

What secrets might be unlocked? Who knows, but it sure makes for interesting research into the unknown, the unforseen, and the un-imaginable.

Maybe I'll find me a talking duck along the way? Seems it would be less threatening than a Ouija board!

I do not know if you thought my comment was made in a derogatory sense (it was not, by the way), but if you and your spaces are that uncomfortable, and you are seeing a resurgence in the activity, why do you NOT try and locate someone in the area to help you rid your LIFE with the "problems"?
We have an interesting person here on site who seems to have gone through many "unbelievable" experiences that MAY be of assistance if asked. I have not spoken to her myself (that WOULD be up to you), but she appears to be rather knowledgeable and from what I read, would be better able to explain things like this that I could.
None of my board experiences ever had THESE kinds of results...
Just trying to help.
Thank you.

Raingrl,

I get that alot, people don't understand why I continued dabbling with boards. First of all, I don't have to have a Ouija board present to experience paranormal phenomena. I have had at least 3 houses become haunted with no Ouija board anywhere around. I can touch objects and they will begin to move like a centerpiece would. Things ranging from CD cases to dishes, to keys... Especially when I have a "feeling" that I am not alone. It has taken many years to become accustomed to this. It doesn't matter if I ignore the signs or not, I believe I am a magnet for incarnate beings if you will.

I think at times I was under the influence of these spirits. Maybe not possessed in a conventional sense, more of a "drawn" to these things. I knew better, but couldn't help to keep it going. I tried to stop altogether on more than one occasion, but boards would come to me, they always have. I actually received one in the mail one time. It had no return address. I stashed it with a few other boards in a garage.

I'm looking for a few pictures that a board drew one night. It looked like a man with a paper sack on its head. I had several drawings in an old notebook somewhere. If I can find it I will try to post it, as they are really weird. Thanks for your replies.

Hello,
I looked at the picture and was able to find 2 1/2 faces. The 2 full faces look like they are smiling and the 1/2 face looks like it is crying. Interesting picture and story. Why did you play with this spirit for so long if you knew it was causing that much trouble? Do you still contact it?

Darren, thanks for sharing your story. I hope that, despite the skepticism, you'll continue telling it because it needs to be told. You'll never truly know how many people you've helped because they heeded your warning and stayed away from the board. But believe me, you're doing the right thing in speaking out.

The problem with using the ouija board is that you don't always recognize that you've opened a portal to trouble until it becomes really obvious. We tend to dismiss little things -- things that, in hindsight, we can recognize as warning signs. We want to believe that the "Board Being" is what it claims to be. We want to believe it's truthful. We want to believe that contact is benign or amusing. We want to believe that we can "control" (what an illusion THAT is!) whatever comes through the board; that we are capable of recognizing evil -- even though it's a lot more manipulative and ingenious that we could ever dream of being. We are blinded by our HUBRIS, and it's that blindspot that evil is able to identify and hide in and take root in -- and we'll continue to dismiss it, until it has done some major damage in our lives.

Keep telling your story, my friend. People out there need to hear it.

Blessings,
A.

Wow, if you have all that activity starting up again, perhaps you should contact someone who can help you rid your home of the life impaired, that way you would not have to ship your child off.
There are lots of companies in Oklahoma (as I do not know your location, I can only suggest a few) Oklahoma City Ghost Club, Society of Paranormal Investigation, Oklahoma Ghost Hunters, Oklahoma Ghost Hounds. Be honest with them and tell them this whole story, perhaps they can help "clear the air".
Thank you.

I have also considered using available technology to capture evp's, temperature readings, and infrared video. I just can't bring myself to jump back into these sessions because honestly I don't feel like I am strong willed enough to start summoning spirits again, they have been far to hard to get rid of in the past. The last few days I have began to hear strange noises in the house. Someone or something knocked on my door yesterday and no one was there. A childs play ball rolled across the floor in front of me and a friend who stays with me yesterday as well. I have began some protective prayers just in case. In the past this is how hauntings have started. I have not played with any oracles, but I am still concerned that I may be a magnet for these peculiarities. I have a 14 month old baby girl whom I am VERY protective over. I will NOT expose her to this stuff, as I have already went through one very harrowing ordeal with my other daughter.

Who knows, if the manifestations continue to develop I will send my daughter to grandma's, break out the camera's and try to capture something. But no way will I break out another board. Won't make that mistake again!

I appreciate the frank and rapid response, Darren. I assure you, I myself am not calling this session into question. I have had my own seemingly unbelievable experiences with a board, and the questions I asked were BECAUSE of them.
I honestly never thought you were in this for monetary gain. I can not think of ONE ghost hunter that is living in a mansion in Beverly Hills as a direct result of the ghost hunting itself. As a matter of fact, they tend to be more like starving artists.
You are right, I googled Ouija Zozo and was brought to a lot of links to STORIES of persons who had supposed run in's with this Zoso... That does NOT tell me who Zozo IS, it tells me who people THINK he is. All of these people were relating their personal stories. I am looking for the history on why I should be fearful of this "entity" more so than others that I may encounter on the board.
Just my take on Porko. I personally would not have given an "offering" of coinage to a bank that a ghost asked me to donate to. An offering is an offering, no matter if it be pennies or souls. But then, that is just me.
Thank you.

Excellent story! If I remember correctly, I have read on another (now defunct) site a ouija board story involving a spirit going by the same name (and with the same results).

Although I agree with others that this board is a tool, it is one that I will never even try to use. I've heard too many negative things about them so why take any chances?

Thanks for sharing this story and send in more when you can!

Also, when I began to notice ZOZO was becoming increasingly erratic during Ouija demonstrations me and my x-wife would place earth wind and fire by the board, as well as a bible. This seemed to backfire sometimes as this is when the physical demonstrations began to manifest. There was one board that was very old that if I remember correctly was the first time ZOZO appeared. I remember finding this strange board while demolishing a house that an old women had perished in. It was in an old dresser drawer. I used to search for older boards because they seemed to have more power. This was before the days of e-bay, and before the internet. You usually had to go to garage sales to find these. I have burned several boards and heard screams and even scary bolts of flames that hissed and popped out of the board which almost seemed to take human shape. During one burning church bells rang for no apparent reason as it was very late. Anyways, I have a tendency to ramble on about this stuff. I have many more stories... Alot of which are not scary, but still amazing, like when the board kept spelling "H.O.G." We were in an abandoned apartment building. We were about to give up when it quickly and abruptly spelled "A.T.T.I.C." I found the attic door, got a step ladder from the truck and almost jumped out of my skin when I peeked my head into the dark attic with a flashlight. Before my eyes was a huge antique ceramic piggy bank. This was no ordinary piggy bank. It's face was contorted, tongue hanging out, eyes crossed, still had the perforations on the bottom! Noone had ever put any money inside this piggy bank. I will never forget this piggy bank as it had a little barrel necklace that read it's name "PORKO" the Pig. I have searched for this pig on a lot of antique sites, and have never seen another one like it. It was a freaky looking pig, we pulled it out from the attic and placed it next to the Ouija board. I must say it was quite bewildering to be playing with a Ouija board with a huge red "Porko" the Pig sitting next to it. The Ouija board told us that the Apartment was inhabited by a small child who never got the chance to put money into the pig. It actually asked us to make a donation, and I remember everyone laughing, but digging change from their pockets to drop into the "haunted" piggy bank...lol. We put it back up in the Attic, but that didn't stop everyone from hearing footsteps, and actually seeing door knobs rattle before your eyes with nothing there. This place is in Enid Oklahoma, and I can take you there now to see this bizarre "Porko" the Pig!

One of the reasons I used to hold these Ouija board sessions was to "prove" to people the existence of spirits. Like I said previously, I was very reluctant to introduce my new partner to the Ouija phenomena. She pursued it until I eventually gave in. She then become entertained by the conversations and events that unfolded. I left her after she became very reclusive, and I have only had one session at a gravesite of a best friend who died recently. As far as how "ZOZO" came to be present almost everytime I was involved in these sessions is unknown to me. But not every session was terrifying, some were actually very entertaining from a paranormal aspect, trying to "trick" the board into guessing hidden words written by me on pieces of paper. I have even gotten spirits to draw pictures by placing pencils through the planchette hole. Once we asked the board who my best friend was going to marry, and it spelled "Mary." We asked it if it knew her phone number and it spelled "YES." It then scooted across a number to which we called and a woman answered. My friend Randy asked her her name and I swear she said "Mary!" We all freaked out, and there was several people present who say this happen. I realize people are not going to believe this but the people that were there know it happened.

If you google "Ouija ZOZO" or "ZOZO Ghost, or "ZOZO Spirit" you will see links to ghost sites where several people have written stories about this. Again people have claimed that this is some elaborate hoax, but I do not know ANY of these people. Stories from allover the USA as well as some in spanish. I know for certain that this cannot be mere coincedence. One particular site has a guy that has combined some of the stories together, and tons of people have made comments about this. I amnot the first person to notice this strange set of circumstances. I'm just one that has had this ZOZO contact me about 30 times in the last 2o years.

Yes the spirit became increasingly hateful, and it seems the more afraid of it I become the more powerful it became. Too many times no protection circles were drawn, and no closing ceremonies performed. I believed when I was younger that I was more powerful than a spirit.

As far as how much investigation I have put into this, I can honestly say that I make no claims to be an authority on this paranormal stuff, I just know the incredible things I have seen, and have made sure other people were around to experience it as well. At one time when I was younger I was rather obsessed with showing people the strange things that could come forth from the sessions. And I dismiss the claims from so called "experts" like "TheStraightDope.com" that Ouija boards simply work from the subconscious mind talking to the conscious. At many sessions Me and my x-wife would be blindfolded, and someone had to stand above the board because it would move so fast that the note taker had to abbreviate words. The board would also abbreviate terms, like it was being impatient. Several times the spirit would talk in foreign languages, or use cultural slang, for instance one spirit claimed to be from Australia and used terms like "mate" and you just KNEW whatever it was we were communicating with was "not from around these parts."

For 20 years I have told these stories, and people claim that I'm a liar, that I am just seeking attention, etc. That is one reason why I have felt compelled to prove the existence of spirits to these unbelievers sometimes just to shut them up, and let them see that there is INDEED a spirit world. I have more stories that I won't even go into here because of the ridiculousness that it comes across. For instance one time we asked the board if it could take over the body of my x-mother-in-laws pet dog. It proceeded to demonstrate it's power and the dog began to do things that would make your skin crawl. Again I won't go into great detail, but am saving a lot of these for my book project. I have never written a book, but have enough memories of these experiences to write on. I make good money, and am not driven by monetary gain like some "ghost hunters."

My experiences are all what "I" experienced, as well as others around me experienced. I enjoyed having a small crowd around when the planchette would levitate, or go flying across the room. Or get into cuss fights with someone in the room. I was young, fearless, and to be frank rather ignorant about the dangers involved.

One important lesson it did teach me is that there are forces at work that are either good, or evil. I will not preach to anyone because I believe spirituality is a personal experience. But these experiences led me to believe in what I do today. I have a wonderful fiance that forbids me to conduct these sessions. She has experienced some very strange phenomena with me concerning 2 hauntings that were NOT related to Ouija boards. A professional psychic told me that I have 3 spirits that follow me everywhere I go. One is good, and she said it was like a guardian type. The other two were evil, with ONE being particularly nasty. Maybe this is ZOZO, I just do not know. Things have been calm for 2 years now. I can only hope they remain that way.

I have not read the other comments.
First, you are right. They are NOT toys. They are TOOLS.
Second, this book project about demon possessions and Ouija experiences that you are working on... How extensive has your research been so far?
I am curious as to how you know for certain that each and every time you contacted a spirit, it was Zozo at first. You describe a steady (almost TOO steady) of a decline in the niceties of this spirit, never questioning that all personalities were one in the same.
It was a Ouija. Why would other ghosts NOT want to be heard? Through the core of this story you admit that persons heard the ghostly conversations as if they were coming through the walls. And I DO have to point out how extremely RARE it is for so many people to be witness to all of this commotion.
Your girlfriend bought a glow in the dark Ouija, much to YOUR dismay, and YET you "played the game" (You say that you were not a participant, and yet YOU wrote down things and told them to try and trick the board. You WERE a participant as YOU provided the questions). If you were THAT put off by it, why did you not suggest that she put it away, maybe even OUT of the house?
I looked up the name Zozo and I tell you, I only came up with some film (made in 2005), a few people's screen names, a man explaining that HIS name (being that it WAS Zozo meant "I live twice" when spoken in Greek. Those who speak Greek: Is that right?), a restaurant, and a South African dancer. I may be looking in the wrong place, but I looked for about an hour.

The most interesting thing about this picture for me, (besides the fact that I have been on LOTS of ghosts sites that hold photos and do not recall ever seeing this photo) is that the "mist" comes straight up from a central point, just off the board (coming up and OVER the final O and D in Goodbye). I can CLEARLY see the outer edge of the board, and the mist comes from an area BELOW it, and NOT out of the board itself. I personally do not see all the skulls that you refer to, but I do not have any real kind of photo shop to play with it either. BUT, I asked my life partner to light a cig and put it in an ashtray on the floor and I took a picture of the computer chair with this nifty camera that my brother gave my daughter for Christmas, and guess what? I got a really similar looking result.

Just an aside, there ARE other ways to prove the existence of ghosts. It is amazing that each and every time you tried to contact Zoso (yes, I DO realize that I used both spellings) it was right "on spot" for a communication. That rarely happens. Most generally you have about one contact to about five- seven "misses". Proving that ghosts do not "perform" for audiences.

Also, I HAVE been to seances that use a BIBLE in the stead of a board...
Food for thought.
Thank you.

Ouija boards, by themselves, are not dangerous. They are an object. Something made out of physical materials to entertain humans - nothing more. What IS dangerous is the psyche of those who use them. It's a portal alright, but that portal opens in the individual, not with a collection of paper and plastic produced by Parker Brothers.

Magickal tools are the same way. They are means to an end, not the end itself. For instance when the Witch uses a chalice or athame, those tools are only symbols for much greater concepts that carry power. Eventually, a Witch discards the tools or gives them to someone else, because the symbol is no longer needed to connect to the power. A ouija board is also a tool, a communication one. But what is it really doing? By touching a planchette and letting it glide across an arcane arrangement of letters and numbers, it is blurring the line of our current reality, clearing all the distractions of modern life so our attention can be opened to different channels. That's it. It's a trick. There are actually many ways to do this, but ouija just happens to be the most popular of them.

I am not doubting this author's version of events, nor calling his honesty into question. I can fully believe he called forth some sort of evil, some kind of malevolence. But that "evil" didn't come from the board, or anywhere without. It came from him. It has likely always been in him, waiting to exit and be known. Hopefully he has learned how to at least control it.

One last thing: Why does ZOZO's name sound so close to the cover of one of Led Zeppelin's most famous albums?

I appreciate your reply, Darren, but you still haven't answered my question. WHY would you subject your new girlfriend to that if you believed in what happened to your daughter? If you love someone, you don't willingly put them in the path of harm just to prove a point.

And if the photograph that's up now is the one you're talking about, I'm sorry but I don't see anything other than what looks like either smoke or some sort of energy. It doesn't look evil to me in any way, just powerful.

Please understand that I'm not attacking you or trying to be rude. This just doesn't make sense to me.

Please show us this picture you are talking about. I have been to many paranormal sights and looked at hundreds of ghost pictures (often they all have the same ones) and I don't recall ever seeing one like you have described.

First of all this ZOZO spirit claimed it wanted to consume my then girlfriend and my daughter. Immediately afterward my daughter got violently ill, AND almost drowned. It wanted to take them to "paradise." A year later when I moved to Michigan it was with extreme reluctance that I played with another Ouija board. I had told my new girlfriend stories, and she wanted me to somehow "prove" to her the existence of spirits, which I did. As far as asking the spirit "petty" questions like shapes on a piece of paper, again I was attempting to "prove" the existence of spirits to a non-believer. When she saw that the board was knowing what I was writing, she began to believe what she was seeing was real. I regret messing with these things very much. And I DO WARN people about the dangers.

I agree with others here. After experiencing the effects Zozo supposedly inflicted on your family, why would you extend that to other innocent people? As for your daughter's accidents and health problems, that seems pretty normal to me. I don't see how that's something abnormal. The tongue swelling sounds like an allergic reaction. Perhaps a coincidence with the Iron Tongue thing, but I find it hard to believe that a demon attacked your daughter.

I also find myself skeptical of so-called "demonologists." I would like to see the photograph you're talking about. It just sounds like a multiplied reflection of the glare on the necklace to me, but I'm no photo professional.

I appreciate you sharing this story, but that's pretty much what it sounds like to me... A story. I suppose if it really happened, all I can say is best of luck to you and your family. Hopefully you've learned not to bother spirits with petty questions like what color you wrote on a piece of paper.

This is just another reason why people shouldnt play with ouija boards. I have heard a lot of oujia board stories, but yours is by far the most intresting. If its not too much to ask, can we see the pictures that you took? Thanks for the story!

hi there darren

Yup I believe in this because I almost had the same experience here in our country we use glass to play with the ouija board and after wards the rule is you should break the glass and in this case well when we asked the spirit for his name he said he is the devil; and then the glass flew up to the ceiling then fell on the table rolled on it until it fell down the floor right side up, kind of creepy, but after that I never played with a ouija board

Erm... Shouldn't you be warning people not to play with Ouija boards, you're opening a door, you're meddling, you invite it in and then upset when it stays?

Ok I am just curious here. Why, if you knew how dangerous this thing was, would you subject your new g/f, her children and her nieces to this?
