I've had an encounter like this. I felt pinned down to my bed and I tryed yelling out to my mum but it came out in a whisper.
From things that I've read, this state your in, is between being awake, and being asleep, so you're not fully concious.
But seeing that you saw a black figure, could mean something else.

Pretty scary story!... I don't think that you are crazy! I think that you just incountered something that changed you life drastically! You ought to look up the history on the house... Have you do so yet?

Wow, this is extremely scary and I know how it is to feel like you're going crazy. You're not. My mom has had similar encounters also.

Sounds like you encounter a incubus but stop it from molesting you. You are lucky to be able to of stop it. I believe this whole story.
