The New Years Ghost 2 on 2010-04-19

The holidays have come and past and our New Year's visitor has remained. While there were some lulls in the past few months, there has been some significant activity especially in the last few weeks. I am now convinced that our apparition is that of a young male teenager or adolescent. Several ti...

The New Years Ghost on 2010-01-13

The period before the holidays was extremely stressful for my family. My husband had a major surgery during this time and the usual demands of the holidays and our busy lives seemed to stretch us to the limit. Around this time, I began to see glimpses in the corner of my eye of an individual outside...

The Climbing Creature Or Childhood Imagination? on 2009-11-18

As I have mentioned in other submissions, I have experienced paranormal encounters most of my life from the time I was quite young. There is one experience / memory that still has me confused from a paranormal context and I can't decide whether it was actually paranormal or just a confused memory. ...

The Haunted Office on 2009-11-09

Twenty years ago I worked in a small agri-business in Salinas CA. The greenhouses and office were the first buildings on that site; no other structure had existed prior to its construction. The area had been mainly fields and ranch prior to the business being there. The location was very close to...

My Daughter's Experiences on 2009-11-03

My 16 year old daughter has experienced ghosts for some time now. The experiences have been with rather substantial beings, and generally she hasn't been freaked out by them. Most of them have been relatives that have passed. My mom who like my daughter was a dancer. This past summer though, the...

The Man In The Road on 2009-10-07

My siblings and I have always had the ability to hear and see spirits. Normally, I have seen fleeting images or more often, heard voices and noises about places. While I worked in an office where strange things happened due to a mischievous spirit, and experienced her turning on and off lights and s...

Do you know if there were any other buildings on that site prior to 1999? Any significant stories related to that area?
Boldylocks, yes that is remarkably similar to what I remember!

Except for my daughter seeing a figure in her room a week ago, its been fairly quiet as of late. I promise to submit a part two if things start to pick up again.

I grew up in Bergen County and moved to CA in my 20s. I feel a strong attraction to both places on the opposite sides of the country!:)

So I have a question and I'm not trying to be flippant either, but are you perimenopausal? I have heard similar experiences from others in that stage but without the supernatural overtones. Just curious.
I live close to the Brookdale lodge and have visited there frequently for concerts and brunches. Even without the ghosts about, it has a certain vibe which is hard to ignore. One of my friends from work used to waitress at the lodge and says the paranormal activity was rampant--glasses falling off tables, lights going on and off, cold spots in the middle of rooms and being "touched" on the neck or arms by spirits.

honey91, you have the right attitude about all this which shows a maturity about the gift you have. It does run in families, btw--most of the women on my mom's side have it to varying degrees going back several generations. It will grow and then go dormant at times, depending on your situation and your age. Mine went dormant for a few years when we lived in a fourplex that had too much activity and as a defense I started to block out my sensitivity to it. But since we moved and I'm in a safer situation, its coming back quite strong again. God bless. <3

You are not losing your mind. Since you seem to connect the well with the circumstances, I would see about getting it at least covered and place a hematite stone on the cover as an extra precaution.

IF things continue to escalate, I would get an expert involved. Its hard to determine whether your ghost is being aggressive or seeking out the only way it knows to alert you to something. Knowing the history of the house would definitely help here.

I'd bee interested to hear how you've dealt with the situation.

So when you said you tried to contact the spirit, what did you do? I've had this type of experience my whole life and I usually find the best way is a direct response, like "who are you? I can't understand what you are saying!".
The entity was definitely attached to that place because when we moved, the encounters stopped completely.

Very odd. I know the route you're talking about I drive that to Tahoe about 3x a year. Very creepy to be sure...
Its nice to know I'm not the only one. I've always had a feeling that it wasn't quite an imaginary friend experience because the details were so precise.
So I talked to my sister more about this tonight. She said she never saw the being, but if she leaned out the window and told it to "go away", I would calm down and say it was gone.

Now my sister is very, very psychic--she has had some really wild experiences and visions, including one with the Oujia board, which I should write up sometime. I don't doubt she could move spirits away by sheer force, lol.
I'd be interested in anything else you've read or heard!

I spent most of my formative years in NJ--I grew up in Wash Twp, near Westwood, btw.

Where in Hayward did you live? The Hayward Niles Canyon road always gave me the creeps when we drove down it, even during the day. I lived in Fremont for two years and spent a decent amount of time on the backroads of Fremont and Hayward.

When I have some time I will tell about some of the unusual experiences my husband and I have had while driving through Pacheco and other areas of this part of Ca. Thanks for all the positive feedback!

We always suspected he was either a field hand or rancher that still lurked the fields. The odd thing is he was very menacing, while our female ghost was just the opposite.

Salinas really has this odd feel to it from a paranormal standpoint. The Salinas High Bell tower is definitely haunted as is the Steinbeck house. There so much history there, and some of it rather violent and emotional, its not too surprising.

The whole area up from San Luis Obispo to Monterey, Santa Cruz and parts of Santa Clara have a high occurrence of paranormal activity. The famous Brookdale Lodge is not that far from where I live. We've seen some really odd things going through the Pacheco Pass at night coming back from So Cal.
Kids do not have the the filters we develop as adults. This is why the hardest audience for a magician is a group of kids; they take everything in and their powers of observation are much keener than ours are.

Your finance did the perfect thing by having your girl tell the spirits to go away. If she ends up being sensitive, its a skill that will serve her well later on and give her confidence to deal with the here and now.

Thanks for the kind words. She's been under a decent amount of work load at school so that may be attributing to it as well.
