Everything Was Going Great on 2009-12-07

At the age of eight I lived in Milwaukie, Oregon. My parents decided to move the family to Milwaukie from Oregon City, following a big promotion for my dad at his job. My two brothers were excited about the new place and my parents were the happiest I had seen them in a long time. Everything was goi...

The Beach House on 2009-11-23

My grandmother owns a beach house in Lincoln City, Oregon. My family has been staying there for vacation since I was born. It has always been my favourite place to go in the world. The house is very small and old. It was built sometime in the 50's and has undergone many repairs in the past. I person...

Living Enrichment Center 2 on 2009-11-19

This is my second story about the Living Enrichment Center, an abandoned worker rehabilitation center in Wilsonville, Oregon. I had some bizarre experiences there before, which I wrote about in my first story. It actually took a little nerve to come back a second time after what happened the first t...

Living Enrichment Center on 2009-11-19

As I have stated before, I live in Portland, Oregon. There is a town near the Portland area called Wilsonville. It's about a fifteen minute drive from where I currently live. When I was growing up I lived in Oregon City. I remember when I was ten or eleven one of my friends told me about a mental ho...

The Toybox on 2009-11-02

When I was ten years old I moved with my parents and two brothers from Milwaukie, Oregon to Portland. I was sad at first because I had grown fond of our old house. We were only able to stay in Milwaukie for two years because of... Complicated circumstances. Suffice to say it was a rough neighborhood...

Music From The Basement on 2009-10-26

When I was fifteen I didn't like hearing ghost stories. I liked to joke around with my friends about stuff like that but I was very rational, and still am. While unexplained phenomena can normally be explained rationally, to this day I have a difficult time understanding what happened that day. I am...

Check my other stories. I have posted a second LEC trip story to my profile. Thanks for reading.
Ghost story: Strange Noise
Date: 2010-05-22
Great story! I don't know if you would be constantly freaked out by living in that place, but if you want my opinion you should really do what makes you happy. I would assume that means living with your girlfriend. You should follow your heart and you should not let a spirit or entity push you around. I have heard many stories of people that submitted to their haunts only to have the entities grow stronger in their negative energy. Be strong and courageous and show those ghosts who's boss! Wink

Wow, creepy story. The whole shambling girl visual was enough to make me get up and lock my doors. Thanks for sharing.

Another fantastic tale! Thanks Haunted_cleaner. I would love to hear more if you have more to tell.
BTW: I think Scoops is on to something. You might consider taking some pictures of the house or leaving a small video camera on a tripod somewhere you see a lot of activity while you work. I think you might be hard-pressed not to for professional reasons, which is perfectly understandable as well. At the very least, can you take a picture of the ball for us? I'm sure we'd all like to see it!

Thanks for sharing!

Incredible story! It is unbelievable that you have managed to be so brave after all you've been through! Stay strong, I'm sure the ghosts mean you no harm. Reading next story... Smile

Great story Haunted Cleaner! I think it's fantastic that your husband got a taste of what you've been trying to show him for such a long time. I bet you couldn't stop smiling all day the first time he told you he had an encounter! Ha ha! Laugh
But seriously, have you tried to learn a bit more about the history of the property? I'm not sure if the owners would think that was strange or not but you might consider asking them about the presence (s) in the house. I'd be willing to bet they have some stories of their own to share with you.
I haven't seen any of your other stories so I am going to check them out right now! I can't wait to read about your other encounters!
Please check out my stories if you get the chance. Thanks for sharing!

Hey RylieH20: That's pretty nuts that you guys got lots of SHHshing and other weird noises. I'm glad you didn't get bothered by the police. It's lucky that the LEC is pretty hard to drive into otherwise I think it would be tougher to avoid police patrols in the area. I have heard that cops patrol the area regularly near the new housing development due to the amount of rowdy kids messing around in the LEC on a regular basis. By the way, I think I know the room you are talking about when you said storage room or attic. The staircase leading up is wooden and painted white, right? When I went in there I did the same thing at first, just stood in the doorway and listened to the weird sounds coming out of the room. I was pretty freaked out about going in because it didn't look or sound very friendly. The room was full of heavy looking machines and big ventilation boxes. I could hear sounds like people sighing quietly and dripping water noises. The dripping sounds were freaky and unnatural sounding though, because they never had a rhythm, they just tapped on and on, sporadically. It sometimes sounded like fingernails clicking on metal. It was hard to be sure of what exactly I was hearing. Eventually I went in with my friend and at some point you can actually walk inside of the big metal ventilation boxes (or whatever they are, room-sized boxes made of metal) and the inside walls are covered with dusty grey fabric, like filters of some sort. It smelled a little dank and felt really unsettling inside. After about two minutes walking through the boxes I wanted OUTTA there. It was so creepy! There were all sorts of noises all over the place. It didn't help that any slight sound echoed and reverberated through the chamber. Let me know if you go back or have any good stories. Or you know, you could always post your findings! Thanks for the comment! Scared

Killtor: In Oregon if you are under 18 you have to be indoors before midnight. This is a law protecting kids from dangerous people that lurk around at night. It's usually not a big deal, though cops can harass kids sometimes if they look like they're up to no good. They usually check IDs and if necessary, drive kids home. Thanks for the compliment! Happy

Awesome stuff, Ibelievinghosts! I'm sure it wasn't awesome when you were a little girl but at least you turned out okay. And the recurring theme of the parents not believing you... Frustrating! I hope they learned to believe you later on! Excellent writing. Looking forward to part 3. Smile
Date: 2010-02-01
Hey what's happening, Ibelieveinghosts? I have been busy for the last month and haven't had a chance to visit the site. I was pleased to see you have found the time to post some new stories! Great writing, totally creepy. When I thought about how your parents reacted it made sense. It would have seemed awful convenient for the ghosts to freak you out early Christmas morning! Of course your parents wouldn't believe you... When I have kids, I am going to make sure I listen carefully if they ever tell me they saw or heard a ghost! Children are often dismissed because of their age but I think they are the most sensitive to these things. Good stuff! Can't wait to read part 2.

Thanks for reading, Ibelieveinghosts! It's creepy that you had similar experiences growing up. It is also crazy you had to live there for 10 years! How did you survive? Sounds like you have grown accustomed to the paranormal and have learned it seek it out a bit. I'm glad you had a chance to repost your old stories... Still waiting for the new ones! Don't be shy! Wink
Thanks again for the compliment. Happy

RylieH20: Thanks for reading/commenting! It makes me excited that someone else had the chance to go and check the place out, especially someone else on this website! When I was reading your story I got some serious chills, especially when you said you heard a "SHHH" sound. I heard that when I went into the tunnels for the first time... So scary. I can't believe you heard it too! Scared
Anyway yes, the outbuilding you saw in my pictures is the one where the tunnel surfaces. You were in the right place. There is an entrance in the main building. There is a room that is totally destroyed that looks like it might have once been a boiler or some kind of maintenance area. You'll know you're in the right place if the metal staircase warps and crashes underneath your feet as you enter. It's all bent outta shape and makes a lot of noise when you first come in. The entrance to the tunnel should be underneath the steps.
I had a chance to go back to the LEC a few weeks back (it might have been a month ago), hoping to see something new. Nothing really paranormal happened, unfortunately, but my friend and I went back into the tunnels. Where there is a "T" shape this time we hooked right, to the area we didn't go last time I was down there. This path points in the direction of the new housing development, where I think you started to go but turned back. It's really strange because most of the tunnel is dry and clean, but when we went down this direction it immediately started to smell foul. It kind of smelled like sewage or some type of fetid drainage. There were puddles of rusty-colored water all over the ground and the walls were cracked and dripping. The pipes along the walls were brown and wet-looking, and there were ACTUAL BATS (!) on the ceiling. One got stuck in my friend's hair! He freaked out and dropped his flashlight! I followed the bats' pathway to the end of the tunnel, which actually wasn't that far. It sadly leads to a dead end, where it looks like it was collapsed. It smells foul down there and looks really creepy. There were bats fluttering around in the end so we took off at that point. Not much to see otherwise. Thanks for the comment! Happy

cosmogal926: Thanks for the comment and compliment. I have thought the same thing since I learned about what happened to the guy. He must've had a serious grudge on the guy that left him behind. Thanks again!

Zzsgranny: Thank you! To this day I am not sure why the footsteps didn't freak anyone in the family out. Maybe it was the residual buzz of moving to a great house overwhelming the thought of creepy ghosts. We all heard them but for some reason none of us made a big deal about it. I think if I heard footsteps in my hallway tonight I would crap myself. Weird right? It just never felt threatening in the old house, I suppose. Thanks for reading.

DARKNESS: Thanks for the compliment. I like the long ones too. Happy

Staris: I am glad you asked about the Lady incident. I was confused and disappointed as well when the historian was unable to find anything about a lady or anyone else dying on the property. I went to the library and checked local periodicals dating back to the building of the house (1955). Nothing, nobody died that I could find. I skimmed a lot though so I might have missed something. I should check again. And as far as my little bro, once when the whole family was eating dinner, he suddenly started laughing. It was a quiet moment when nobody was talking so we were kind of startled. He was looking at the door to the empty garage. He then said, "Stay in the garage!" really loudly. Nobody knew who he was talking to. The garage door was closed. Scared

Greenpondmike: That is a fantastic idea! I never thought of that. It is totally plausible. The getaway driver may have bailed on him but his death is his own fault. I have scolded myself in the past in the same manner. It totally makes sense. Thanks for the insight!
Not to be rude but I struggled to see anything in any of the pictures as well. Perhaps removing the yellow highlights might help? Just a suggestion. Confused
Ghost story: The Beach House
Date: 2009-12-06
Emma2008: It sounds like you have experienced something similar to what I had going on at the Beach House. You are probably right when you say that the old man's death was unrelated. It was still a pretty freaky coincidence. I have only experienced SP twice, including the time I wrote about in this story. Thanks for the comments.
TTraveler: Thanks so much for the helping hand. I appreciate that a lot. Luckily for me I don't have any SP going on these days. I have only had it twice. Happy

This is just a suggestion, but I have heard the sounds of lights turning on and off in my parents' house too. For awhile it freaked me out but once I was feeling particularly bold and decided to check it out. I had grown increasingly skeptical about the light switch sounds because lights never turned on when I heard them, sort of like what you said. One night I heard a loud *click* in the hall bathroom and went to see what it was. When I entered the bathroom the lights were still out. I put my hands on my hips and stood in the bathroom sleepily for a few moments, and just as I was turning to go back to bed the sound happened again, in the room! I found out that the furnace in the house turned on (and off) with a click that exactly resembled a light switch noise. It came out of various rooms with heating vents in the floor.
Just a suggestion though. Doesn't explain your other experiences! Good story, thanks for sharing.

Sounds very chilling. Glad to hear you are both okay. Sounds like your experience made a believer out of Ajay. Thanks for sharing.
Ghost story: The Tall Skinny Man
Date: 2009-12-05
Whoah you are dating yourself? Did you pay for dinner or did you stiff yourself with the bill? KIDDING. Laugh
Scary story man. I have a question, when you say African descent do you mean black? Or light brown? Sorry I am always trying to work out the details. Sounds like a scary experience. I would have to say if the dude has only appeared to you and never tried to scare you in any other way I think you can rule out hostility. The angry look may be the emotions he carried from his previous life. If he died feeling this way it could be what keeps him around, visible to you. He might just be mad all the time now, not specifically directed at you. There is a part of me that wonders, however, if your experience in New Orleans is related to this unknown man. He might be there more than you think.
Do you have a tripod? A basic video camera? You might consider setting a camera up next to your bed and leaving the tape running while you sleep. You might be shocked in the morning. If you don't capture anything you could also try filming your mom's backyard or even trying to capture an EVP there. Maybe you will find out a little more about the reason he's following you.
Good luck.

TTraveller: Thanks for the comment. It's really scary that you would see shadow people when experiencing SP. I luckily saw nothing while in my trance but the noises were chilling enough. The only thing I saw was the door of the room opening. Scared

No problem, Ibelieveinghosts. You are an awesome poster too. I can't wait to read your new stories. Happy
