My Sweet Friend Della on 2014-02-04

I wanted to share this story for a while but I'm not sure if it is necessarily a ghost story, but I feel like this site would still appreciate it. For those who have not read some of my other posts, I work at a retirement home and have for eight years now. I love the residents there, I feel like...

Lucy on 2012-02-01

I have had one other experience that I really want to share. As I mentioned in another story, I work at a retirement home and although I work in the kitchen I am still able to get to know many of the residents. I have met some very sweet, loving, and interesting people and I love it. There was one...

Interesting Experiences At A Retirement Home on 2012-02-01

I have only had a few small scale paranormal encounters, or at the least unexplainable experiences, and they have occured at work. I work at a retirement home and recently have had three experiences that kind of took me by surprise. The first experience was back in September, it was Labor day we...

Spirit Visit? on 2011-06-29

This happened a few months back and it might not sound like much but it meant something to me. This past year I have been going to school for massage therapy and I had a great teacher, she has a real gift for teaching and introduced our class to a number of massage techniques as well as many differe...

Eerie Occurances, Any Advice? on 2011-01-05

I am writing this story on behalf of a friend of mine. It is kind of long, but I will try to keep it short and to the point -sometimes I tend to ramble, I apologize in advance. I'm really close friends with this guy, and back last May, I happened to get on Facebook and saw a status that he had p...

Ghostly Dream on 2010-11-23

This actually happened to a friend of mine; she said I could share it on here. It is not really scary but it is a little creepy. She is going to school to be an x-ray technician and this fall she just started doing her clinical at a different hospital than she was the semester before. That becomes k...

I have heard a theory that horror movies, books, stories, etc are doorways for the paranormal. Now, to be fair, I don't know how true that is It could just be a thing that my parents told me to try to discourage my love for anything horror or paranormal. Hah.

That being said, I do like that movie although it is very creepy! I'm glad nothing more serious happened to you or your friends. Be safe! =)

Interesting story, sassymomma. I also work in a retirement home and death comes in threes there as well and you are right it is pretty eerie hah 😨. I have heard of people knowing when they were about to pass and seeing some kind of apparition, but the man in the brown suit is different. I think someone else also said this but it would be interesting to find out how long people have reported seeing him there. Or researching if there have been othèr similar encounters with him anywhere else. Hmm, thanks for sharing! 😊
Most of what I thought about when reading your story everyone before me has already said. So I suppose I won't say the same things, but I do agree your husband should be treated for his anxiety/depression. One thing I have started to learn about is laws of attraction, where like attracts like. Your husband grew up in very negative situations. So it makes sense when you say or he said he has been followed his whole life. And now it sounds like there is a lot of tension in your lives as well as fear. Anything you can do to put some positiveness in your life like music you really like, I think the Bibles were a good idea, not showing fear -as hard as it maybe- would probably help. At least I hope so! I wish the best for you and your family.

Hey lcturner3, that is creepy! Haha, From what I have read, typically shadow people are not evil, but I would imagine that doesn't necessarily go for all shadow people. As long as it does not continue showing itself more boldly, I would think you are probably okay. I am by no means an expert or even have half the experience as other posters here, but I certainly hope its nothing more serious. But still very creepy especially to be home by yourself! Thanks for sharing!

This is sort of like when someone is questioning whether or not to use a ouija board. Sure there are three or four stories of positive experiences of someone using a board but majority of the stories are negative, frightening, and/or end up leading to darker things. With the boards you don't know who you are really talking with and it can tell you anything to gain your trust but is it really a good idea? Its kind of the same thing here; it may start out innocently enough but it could lead to darker things.

In your last comment you said part of you thinks it catches you at a low point and drags you down further, I feel like that could be you're intuition talking. Go with it. Just be careful whatever you decide.

wow this gave me chills reading it! Very creepy, I would like to hear some of the other experiences you had there or in general if you want to share.

Susan you made an interesting point about the suicide note and how someone could write out a 12 page long note and still go through with it. Usually suicide notes are short and somewhat vague. I just pray he has found peace where he is now. And I hope you do as well, and maybe some day you will get some answers to it all.

God Bless
Wow... Well... I think the best advice I can give you is what Madness already said: 'go back back to shore.' Its one thing to be curious and research, but continue being around them and recording what happens? That almost sounds like you want something to happen. I don't mean to offend but I do think you are playing with fire. Be careful.

Aw I love this story its so sad but so sweet! I had a cat like Tom, her name was Jelly hah. But she was sweet just like Tom and she actually would give hugs. I swear. But it always hurts when they leave us. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I certainly believe he came back to let you know he's in a better place and he will always be with you. Thanks for sharing:)

Wow, is it possible you were under the influence of this Zozo when you wrote all three of these? Kidding of course haha but really... Wow πŸ˜†
These are the kind of stories I love! Nothing extremely scary or potentially threatening but creepy still and interesting. It sounds like its more residual or energy that has hung around -like you said the house has seen a lot of faces. It's the kind of haunted house that would interest me to find out more about it. Thanks for sharing! 😊

Oh I love it too teenagewitch, it makes me feel like she is right there with me whenever I wear it. I understand what you mean completely, thanks for reading I appreciate it. 😊
Yeah! Kind of, its all relatively new to me. Actually I got a book by Michelle Belanger -I don't know if you're familiar with her but she is an "experienced energy worker" and she wrote a book called The Psychic Codex and its full of exercises to help you become more aware of the subtle senses and energy. I had been reading that and doing the exercises pretty regularly when I had these experiences. I need to start reading again, things have been hectic for a while but I would love to start that again because it was very fascinating in many ways. I feel like I'm rambling now hah, but yes in answer to your question, I can feel those types of things too. 😊

Thanks everyone! Argette, I really do love the residents, I think of them like family kind of. We may not always agree or even like each other but at the end of the day I can't picture not having them in my life.

Zzgranny, I love that! Haha, she sounds like a character. I love that though, she still loves her life and herself and has fun that's so great.:) You know I didn't really think about it at the time, but the bracelets and necklaces I picked were things that were beaded -not as sparkly and dressy as her other jewelry. But there was one necklace a large gold cross necklace, that really isn't my style and I can't honestly tell you why I picked it, it maybe like you suggested, perhaps it picked me?

Jav thanks again for you're nice comment, I surely hope I'm continuing her tradition:)
Thanks for that article Jav, that's so interesting to me. I've never really thought of myself as an empath but I suppose it's possible. I'm very open minded to pretty much anything. And to me it is fufilling, because I feel like I'm able to help the residents' or at the very least be able to relate to them. Sometimes that's all it takes to make them happy. At the same time it can be draining too, so I am very grateful you shared that article with me!:) Thanks.
Thanks Argette!:) That is an interesting thought, about reacting viscerally to their needs. That could be, I do feel like I am rather empathetic to the residents, I definetly have a place in my heart for them. I think it to have that ability to sense them even after they have passed would be so cool, so I will certainly continue researching energy and different ways to strengthen those senses.:)
Hah #6. If you are not married please do so -that makes it sound like its something you can do while you're out running errands...

Sorry to distract from the story, that just made me laugh a little.

I know I'm very behind on reading this story too but I am reading a book about the lady who owns the plantation now, and her experiences there. Its a very interesting place and has me completely fascinated with it right now ha ha. Thanks for sharing your experience there, it was very interesting!:)
I know I am a few years late on reading this but I just saw a documentary on the Winchester mansion and felt like researching it and reading people's experiences there. Its such a tragic but fascinating story, and a place I would love to go to at some point. Thanks for sharing your story!:)
