Ghost Stories from mellybarr

Hotel Guest on 2012-11-06

I was traveling to Montreal on business and was staying at the Loews Vogue hotel downtown for two nights. Just after check in, I head to my room to freshen up before heading out for dinner. The room was a suite actually. When you walk in the door you have a fairly large lounge with couch, desk, ...

The Brisk Walker on 2012-02-07

It was a calm, bright sunny August day when my husband and I decided to take a walk down a community walking path we've never been on before. We often get bored of walking around our neighborhood and like to drive somewhere new from time to time. This particular path started at the road then went...

Strong Spirit on 2011-08-29

This is my second story entry and I must admit that it belongs to my husband, but I feel the need to let you all in on it as it's pretty amazing! Years ago my husband lived in an old century home in Kingston with three other friends of his from Queens University. The rent was unusually cheap for...

Foot Fetish on 2011-05-16

This is my first time writing and I would like to quickly state how glad I am that I've found this web site! I've always had an interest in the paranormal as I've experienced many strange things in my 35 years and I look forward to sharing some of them with you. I'm going to start off with the m...

Not sure if I would have fearlessly started a dialogue with a total stranger/apparition sitting on my bed behind me late at night, but hey, that's me.

I'm wondering what you and your wife were expecting to see under the bed if, as you mentioned, it was pitch black.

Very nicely written story Tyler.

I have had the same experiences in my life of and on, but more connected to me rather than any particular dwelling.

I experienced the same thing where I would see the silhouette of the black cat rounding the corner and feeling it rub against my legs. Often it would be a simple sense that there was a cat in the room by my feet and sometimes as I would stand in front of the full length mirror applying my makeup I would hear it make a sound against the mirror. The kind of sound a cat makes when it rams head first before following through with a side swipe. Since I have a cat of my own I thought it was him and I would look down... Nothing.

I always thought it was my Shesha who died years ago.

Have you lost a cat that was close to you before this started? It also might be attached to the house.

Wow, this story is really confusing. The first sentence doesn't make much sense, but I'm assuming you mean to tell us that this had just happened to you mere minutes ago, but then you mention going back to sleep? I don't normally start getting ready in the morning and then go back to bed... After that it sounds like SP to me. Maybe your body was trying to wake you up and get you going for the day. 😕

Yes, she was very humorous as a matter of fact. She was an artist and we were very close since I inherited her talent. 😊

It's been over 15 years since she passed though. She was a strong, passionate woman and I admired her.

Audrone, I am originally from Montreal. I would suggest staying there or Hotel de la Montange. It's a short walk from the shops on St. Cathrine and a few steps away from Crescent st. If you like the pub and bar atmosphere.

Thanks for your comments. It was by far the most paranormal activity I've had in one night!

Hi Matthew.

What you've described in your story sounds almost identical to the experiences my husband had years ago before meeting me. Please read my story "strong spirit" and you'll see what I mean. The only thing that is different is that it wasn't necessarily a blue man, but it was something that entered and exited through an open door that was previously shut and it too was suffocating the sleeper whilst on the chest area. It also seemed to live in the basement.

I hope to God it's not the same thing in your case because this was an entity that ultimately drove my husband and his roommates out of the house for good.

Good luck Matthew!

I agree with zeta.

I am not a "ghostbuster", but am and have been intrigued by the unseen ever since I can remember. If I found a place that gave me that creepy feeling along with evidence of spirits lingering in the darkness I would be scared, but you can guarantee I'd be back the next weekend with my group to see what else we can find. It's like spicy food - damn painful to eat, but you'll keep coming back for more!

I find it interesting how your stepson didn't ask you who you were talking to when you asked her all sorts of questions. You wrote that he was playing right next to her so why wouldn't he look up at you and ask why you want to know his name, where he's from and where his parents were.

Ummm... Yeah (Mr. Lumbergh's voice)

I'm going to ask you to go ahead and not write any more posts about your dreams... Mmmkay?

Thanks.

haha! Now that you mention it, you did sound a little flustered.

No apologies required.

Are you referring to a search and rescue? Any news?

Jav - if you look at the other link I provided you'll see your man with the folder. I apologize if I misunderstood where you were referring to.

As I mentioned in my earlier comment, I think this is the pointy pyramid that you see atop the other pillars but the ball is covered by leaves which is why it looks like a face.

I don't see the silhouette. It could be someone actually in the house maybe.

Here is the smudge I see amplified. I'm pretty sure it's a rain smudge.

You?

What do you see Nickie?

I see what looks like a mist in the window, but I think it might be a drop on the lens. It seems to be overcast so I wouldn't rule it out.

haha, it's amazing what a night time pixellated image coupled with some shrubs can do to the eye!

That and sometimes I think my imagination is just a bit too wild 😳

I see what you're seeing now Mimi!

Check it out. It looks like two faces, but do you think that pillar has a ball on it like the rest that's just partially blocked by leaves and maybe that's what we're seeing as a head?

Interesting though...

Ok, it's time to show.

Man that I think Jav sees

Ok, I'll tell before I show then 😁

Have a look between the two pillars on the right. When I adjusted my levels I saw really clearly a little boy sitting on the wall leaning against the pillar closest to the gate. He his head is tilted to "our right" and you can see his left arm and leg going over. It's hard to see anything but his face in the original pic, but I can see it so you should be able to. He looks like he's looking at the camera in a kind of sad and angry way.

Give me the chills.

Don't forget, I've got the pic if you can't see it.

Good luck!

ok, I've done some adjusting and can see what you're referring to now!

I would really like to show what I've seen though.

Is it possible?
Date: 2012-05-03
I brought it into PhotoShop and fooled around with the levels and still couldn't see what you're seeing, but I saw something else instead that you might find pretty interesting. I'm not sure how to show you though unless you send me your email and I forward it to you?

Huh... I'm sure you're referring to the photo with the gate? Where do you see this guy's face? Is it close to the "folder"?
