A Celebrity Visit Or Delusional Fangirls? on 2017-08-16

This follows on from a comment I made on someone else's story regarding their possible connection to the late Chester Bennington. It's about a famous dead musician and I'm not comfortable with mentioning their name because A) I don't want to seem deluded and B) Some of my fandom will recognise my us...

Vicky's Double on 2017-04-07

This isn't so much a ghost story, more a doppelganger story but it sort of counts. I had a school friend Vicky who was always chronically late. When I got home from school that day, my mum said, 'Oh I saw your mate Vicky walking along after I dropped you off.' 'Yeah she is always late,' I replied...

Active House Next Door on 2012-08-27

This is about my neighbours Cheryl and Dave and involves me and my mum as well. We were telling them about our experiences of corner of the eye phenomenon in our house. Sometimes we think we see a small dog or cat in the dining room that seems to jump off a chair and run away, usually when we are wa...

Stories - The Tree, The Man And The Mob Cap Woman on 2012-08-13

Here are a few short stories from people close to me. Last December my boyfriend and his mum were driving on the roads between Chelmsford and Ongar, in Essex. It was a dark winter evening and they were passing by a cluster of trees on the left. In the beam of the headlights, an apparition drifted...

The Presence, The Dream And The Coloured Lights on 2012-08-13

I used to live in a small flat in Harlow, Essex. When I was young, (under 7) I used to leave my bed in the dark and run to my mum's bed most nights. As I lay awake, little coloured dots used to fly around the room, up by the ceiling and then they would swirl around the bed. They would always start r...

A New Ghost? on 2011-08-24

This is a very recent story, one that has happened to my boyfriend, first in July, then a second incident two days ago. Background information first: He has lived in his home since 1981 and it was built in the 1970s. He has had no paranormal experiences in the house before this and to my knowledg...

Haunted Family Home on 2011-07-20

This is not really my story, but one of my family in general. It happened in a terraced house in Woodford which is in Essex/Greater London and was the home of several generations of my family from the early 1900s to 1970s. The house always seemed scary - it was cold, damp and depressing. From the...

Who Was Up Ahead? on 2011-07-05

This happened ten years ago, when I was a teenager, but I can remember it very clearly. I was walking to meet my friend Peter at his house and for some reason I was feeling a little uneasy (at this age I rarely went out alone, because we used to live in quite a rough part of town). As I got to th...

I live near there! Love it when something local pops up on YGS!
It was a strange time and it's nice to be believed. I hope one day he will come back!
I still feel weird for posting this story, but less so now other people have submitted their celebrity experiences!

I am glad that you got a sense of peace from him; that sounds really nice. I guess if you're in tune with someone, they can come through when they've died. As if they can spot fans who are a beacon for their spirit... If that makes sense.

I have a similar story about what I think could be a celebrity visitation. I've never been one to believe in these, after meeting several dodgy 'psychics', so I've rarely shared it with anyone, for fear of ridicule. But I might submit mine as soon as the submissions box is open again!

I also had something similar with a celebrity's possible visitation, but it's something I haven't really wanted to talk about for fear of sounding ridiculous and deluded.
I don't see why famous spirits can't drop by with a message - they were once people like anyone else.
Like Melda said, he could have come via the deceased co workers, as if to bridge the connection. I believe it happened to me because I was in a room with other fans at the time and it brought about a 'connection' between us and the deceased. Maybe the spirit picked up on us all and dropped by for a visit.

I am glad to know you had the bottles moving too when you felt the tremors, because then you know it wasn't you. Can you go back to the doctors one more time for a second opinion? I don't want to be alarmist, but my friend used to feel this, as if a large lorry was passing her building and making her shake. Doctors fobbed her off, but ultimately it turned out she has Multiple Sclerosis.

The first thing I thought of when I read your story, was an account by Edmund Lenthal-Swifte, who was once the custodian of the Jewel House in the Tower of London. I'd read it in a ghost book as a child and it had also puzzled me.
He also saw something cylindrical, with whatever it was made of 'rolling and mingling within the cylinder'. It wasn't metallic looking like your vision, but it sounded similar enough for me to instantly recall what I'd read. I found something about it online:

That is creepy, I have no answers or ideas. A similar thing happened to my cousin though - he and his mother had driven to Worcester from Hertford (takes 2.5 hours from his home), and he arrived for 10am. They went for a tour around his uni, then to some talks etc, which took until 1pm, then they left. They got home, taking the 2.5 hrs... And all the clocks in their house said 1:30. Impossible, and it freaked them out.

Thankfully nothing bad seems to have happened to Vicky in the 15 years that have passed!

I know this is an old post, but I am going to leave a comment anyway, because you never know who is reading old stories. I had almost the exact thing happen to me.
I was in my bed, excited for the tooth fairy (I was seven) I had my bedroom door ajar with the light streaming through the gap. As I was looking over to the door, a ball of light entered the dark room, not as big as a fist like your story, but slightly smaller. It was green, but sort of iridescent (I hadn't looked directly at the light bulb on the landing so it wasn't a blotch in my eyes).
I looked away and turned over, and like you, I worried she wouldn't take my tooth if I'd seen her! I peeked out though and saw the same ball near my face for a second, between me and the wall. I quickly shut my eyes tight!

The next day I was so excited to tell my mum I had seen the fairy and she of course had to play along. It was only later when I found out the tooth fairy isn't real that I started to wonder what the hell I'd seen. She thought I was lying, but I genuinely thought I'd witnessed a fairy! It was only years later that I learned about orbs. So I guess it was one of those.

This is amazing! I have heard of poltergeists doing this. There really is no rational explanation that I can think of.

The children are 9, 7 and 3. There is a lot of stress in the house and fighting so this could have attracted negative energy I suppose.
I do genuinely believe spirits can communicate through dreams, especially when it is a light sleep. I've had a few of these too and it has given me a peculiar kind of closure and feeling of peace.

I really liked this story. I know the roads well round there and it makes a story extra creepy if you are familiar with the place!

I've never actually seen a ghost, but I have had feelings before, like being touched by thin air, so maybe I am a 'sensitive'.
