As a child, I used to be terrified of almost everything. As I got older, I started experiencing the paranormal. Naturally, I was scared at first, but as I learned more about it, I became more interested and less scared of the things happening around me. I can assure that my stories are true, and I share them for the sake of... Of course, sharing:)

Flying Through The Night on 2015-08-10

Although being Filipina, I grew up in California. There came a time during my childhood when my parents decided to buy a house in the Philippines for them to live in when they retired. In 1998, at around six or seven years old, I lived in the Philippines for a few years. English was my first lan...

Turn It Off on 2015-08-04

Among my circle of friends and family, July has got to be the month with the most birthdays (I am a July baby myself). Last July 21st something odd happened. It was late morning and everyone was gone except my niece and I. My niece was upstairs, while I was downstairs making sure my nephew turne...

Forty Days on 2015-04-23

In 2006, my parents rented a house near the high school I was going to attend. Luckily, a friend of theirs knew someone renting out space. We were renting the front half of the house, and an old couple (landlord's parents) lived in the back half of the house. When you enter through the front doo...

Yellow Eyes on 2015-03-30

I was seven or eight years old at the time and even though I had my own room, I preferred to sleep in my parents' room. My parents had a queen-sized bed. My mom slept on the right side, and my dad slept on the left. I usually had a mattress on the floor on my mom's side. My dad was president of ...

Vacation House on 2015-03-23

If you have read my other story (Never Really Gone) then you already know about the kitchen. This time I'll be sharing some odd encounters that took place in the living room and guest room. This will be a bit lengthy, because I want to avoid posting multiple stories. Just to make things clear: In...

Never Really Gone on 2015-03-16

We have a two-story house; the family room and bedrooms are upstairs, while the living room, dining room, and clean kitchen (rarely used except for baking) is downstairs. There is a door in the clean kitchen that leads outside to the dirty kitchen. The dirty kitchen is considered the main kitchen wh...

Replica Hospital Room on 2015-03-16

In 2010, I went to the Philippines for college and took up nursing at a University. Our major nursing classes were usually held on the 5th floor, because that was where the nursing laboratories were located. It was a huge room; the classroom took one half of the room and the other half (which was se...

Third House on 2015-03-09

Sometime around early 2012, my sister and her family moved to their third house in California. I've always felt comfortable no matter where she lived. The city that they moved to had a good number of gated communities, extremely courteous people, beaches, and incredibly beautiful nature trails that ...

Unexplained Experience on 2012-11-12

This is my first time writing here and I would just like to give you a little background about myself. I am 20 years old and was born and raised in the United States. I would visit my home country (Philippines) at least once or twice each year for as long as I can remember. After my parents retired,...

jaderae & Shady4u. Thanks for reading! That's a good question jaderae! From what I heard from other people the aswang is usually found in secluded areas with trees. It seems more likely for an aswang to live in mountain provinces like where the two women came from. Now that I think about it this only happened when they were around the scratching and such. Even after they left I still heard the "kii kii" sounds but no more scratching or weird wind. So maybe the creature or whatever it is was drawn to them for some reason.

Shady4u I was around 8 or 9 years old 😊

Wardo. Thanks for reading! I look forward to reading your story 😊

chapulin1234. It was definitely scary especially as a child. I remember them telling me that there were multiple harmless spirits in our house. They were nice ladies but my parents told me that they alsoweren't doing their jobs.

AugustaM. Wow! Thank you for sharing that. It is truly a blessing to have our loved ones still look out for us 😆 great story! It gave me chills (in a good way)

Zander. 😊 I know it's not a unique experience but, I'm glad to know that there is someone else that experiences the same things as well 😊 I think it's quite an honor to be visited by relatives who are long gone. I mean of all the people in your family they choose you (unless they have something against you lol)

Tweed. That makes sense 😁 it's better than thinking that they're stuck here wandering around aimlessly. Thanks!

Hecate. That's very interesting. I always wonder what life after death is like. Is there really heaven or do we just... Hang around? Your story is a good example, I experience the same thing with my great grandparents who I never really got to spend time with yet I experience stuff on their birthdays every year. They've been gone for over 15 years. So, Let's say"heaven" is real, do they just have the freedom to visit their loved ones on earth once in a while, or have they just been wandering around us all these years. Truly mysterious.

Miracles51031. That's a good question. I didn't really think about paying attention to what was playing at the time. I just know that whatever was on wasn't what I was watching since I was watching anime that was in japanese, and the show playing was in english

Winipu4, Sam222. I truly admired how generous they were even when they didn't have much to spend for themselves. Thank you
for reading! 😁

Hecate0, lafido. I agree, I also believe that they don't really leave after the 40 days ceremony, but it's still kind of nice having friends and family over all together celebrating instead of mourning. I knew that there was no danger but I still couldn't help but freak out lol. Something that I forgot to mention in the story is that a few month later, the family discovered that the couple had a hidden stash of money meant for their grandchildren. After they found it it quieted down.

SaltnVinegarChips. It's nice to know that there are other people out there who do the same thing lol.

and no I didn't bother telling him, since I knew he would just shrug it off like all the other times I try to tell him when I experience weird stuff
Date: 2015-04-09
Sam222 it definitely was, I think it was after this incident that I became afraid of the dark and sleeping alone until now. I say the eyes were yellow because that was how I remember it, but maybe they were white and the moonlight caused them to look oddly yellow... Not sure. 😲

NeraDama. Thankfully, I haven't experienced anything like it since then. Although that doesn't mean I haven't been experience stuff. 😭 I just know when something is there. I either hear, smell, or see stuff move, but never see apparitions (which I hope stays that way).

Sam222. No worries, I understand your curiosity. I recently moved back to California and your question about tiles made me realize that I thought about the same thing when I visited the Philippines as a child. I was so used to having carpet everywhere, but then you start to appreciate tiles in a hot climate.

Miracles51031. Oh wow that's interesting, I never knew that 😲
Date: 2015-04-01
Sam222. Hi thanks for reading 😊 Nope no mistake, unlike U.S. Houses, Philippine homes usually have tile or wood floors.
It's not really common to have carpet because of a few reasons:
1. We live in a tropical climate (like Hawaii) so carpet would be too hot.
2. A lot of peeoople can't afford a vacuum cleaner
3. I haven't really seen a company that installs carpet
4. Whether we like it or not there will always be cockroaches, house lizards, and mice crawling around the house leaving droppings everywhere even if you lived in a house big or small they deal with this.

Yeah, you're definitely right it is scary, and I guess it is just little kiidss because that balcony is my dad's favorite smoking area. He would be there from early morning, and even really late at night but he never sees anything.
Nice storee 😊 as scary as it would be to see a speerit, sometimes you can't help but feel pity for them. 😢 Thanks fo sharing! And I guess YGS is pulling a good a.p.r.i.l f.o.o.l.s j.o.k.e. On us with lol I had to spell certain words weird. Definitely gave me a good laugh reading all the comments haha

Mito Takatori. I am a HE... I think? Lol just kidding I'm a girl 😊 I definitely have a lot more stories but I need to find the time to carefully write them.
Date: 2015-03-30
Mito Takatori. Hi! I'd rather not mention the exact name of the University since one of my stories took place in it, but it is somewhere in Pampanga. I don't go there anymore though I went back to California. Thank for reading, it really is creepy knowing that there's something in my house. Although I am aware that there a numerous spirits there but only a few like to "play around" sometimes lol 😊
