Benicia Ii: Cloud Of Whispers Plus Past Errors on 2014-10-13

As I mentioned in my previous Benicia story, in August of 2011 I went on a ghost walk and encountered a really hostile entity. I then signed up for a paranormal chat and mini ghost hunt with one of the ghost walk guides, Donna. As usual with these things, I'm a trueborn skeptic. I wasn't expectin...

Benicia I: Ghost Walk Gets Real on 2014-10-13

This is part one of my two-part story on the ghosts of Benicia. In this first part I'll talk about a ghost walk my aunt and I went on, and in part two I'll talk about a scary personal experience I had the night after the ghost walk. This happened in August 2011. I was in Benicia (near San Francis...

Ghost Boy In Doorway on 2014-09-23

I always get the chills when I remember this experience because it was the first and only time I clearly saw an individual I could call a ghost (I usually only hear and feel them or see shadows or smoky figures). Not this time. I could clearly see every detail... I live in Barcelona. A few years ...

Ghost Kitty on 2014-09-22

A few months ago, my fiancΓ© and I were chatting on the kitchen balcony. It's particularly long, as it connects the kitchen to our bedroom. Just imagine a long narrow balcony with a sliding door at each end: one for the kitchen and one for the master bedroom. At that time we had three cats: a Siam...

Creature In The Corner? on 2013-02-04

I wanted to share something that happened about two years ago, and see if anyone has any idea what it was all about. But first, a little bit about myself (I'll keep it short): I've been seeing what I suppose are ghosts and different entities since I was about 7 or 8. The very first time, I was pl...

Hi Chickengirl. I would like to know more details about the things you say follow you around and make bad things happen. Before jumping to conclusions (like Ladyglow, I'm not too keen on the whole "an uncertified youth ghost hunter told me..." πŸ˜•), I would suggest carefully analyzing the situations you're in. There can be dozens of explanations, not all paranormal. If it has to be something paranormal, I would take your age into consideration and maybe suggest that the entity moving things around is yourself--a poltergeist.
How can you say that story is cute? That's a terrible heartbreaking story and if it's true I can only feel for the poor animal and all the suffering it went through!
Hi there!:-) The guides didn't ask us if we had had prior experiences or anything. They merely began the tour by explaining the history of the town.

To be honest, I truly doubt that the house was rigged in any way. For starters, the two other people who stood with me by the fence didn't hear or feel absolutely anything. If the barking, for example, had been through a speaker I'm pretty sure someone else would have heard it too. What's more, the negativity just spilled over the whole place. It's hard to explain to someone who hasn't experienced this sensation before (I honestly don't know if you have or not): it's a feeling of unease and you just KNOW that what you're hearing or seeing or feeling is not a regular everyday thing.
That's supposed to be a Roman numeral "two" in the title!;-) It looks like it says "Li, Jet Li."

Hi guys!
Yeah, I think he was puzzled and curious. Who knows, maybe there was some strange time-space warp in that house (lol). What if that boy lived there decades ago and one day he walked into his room and found a strange ghost woman (me)? 😁
Or maybe he was just a curious ghost who inhabited the house.
The possibilities are endless. But one thing is certain: I still get the creeps when I remember his little face right next to my bed, staring down at me. 😒

I'm going to go with Nectarvore on this one:
- Did it only appear that one time?
- Do you always have a negative vibe when in the area? (You have to distinguish between the fear you create reliving your memory, and an external negative vibe.)
Transient hauntings happen quite a lot, actually.

Ifihadyoux:-) Don't worry! I didn't think you were discrediting me or anything. I just wanted to make sure Emma understands the advice I'm trying to give her because it's clear that she's afraid and she needs to take control of her situation in order to improve it.
:-)

Hi ifihadyoux! About hurting you: my advice is merely based on personal experience and what has worked for me. I've had shadow men punch me and I can tell you that the punch feels quite real! However, that's about the extent of it (in my experience). The emotional damage is the most powerful part, and the part I believe Emma should definitely look out for.

I personally have had to face these things alone, so the advice in my previous post all derives from what I found helps calm me down. For me, the most important thing is to take charge of the situation. REFUSE to live in fear. Do you understand, Emma? Ghost hunters and pastors aside, YOU have to take charge of what's going on, and NEVER give power to these entities. How do they gain power? Through your fear. So don't be afraid. Easier said than done!:-) Even though you might be afraid, show strength and impose yourself. I wish you all the best.

Hi zzsgranny! That could be an explanation, but unfortunately it's not the case here because the apartment is brand new.
Hi ifihadyoux! I would also love to have a ghost kitty! So little maintenance, haha! However, I never saw the cat again... 😒

Hi Emma. I'm terribly sorry you're so afraid, and I completely understand your situation. I've been having similar experiences for years. Luckily, I'm 30 now and it seems that with age these things dissipate (at least for me!).
Let me give you some advice so you don't live in constant terror. When you feel choked with fear, do this:
1) Force yourself to take a deep breath. Breathe in and out. It might be hard at first, but you have to breathe slowly to force your heart rate down.
2) Rationalize your fear. This dark mass is terrifying, but can it really hurt you? It can't. It can't touch you. Convince yourself of that. It can't do any physical harm to you. The harm it does is mental and emotional, so take control of your emotions and calm down.
3) Focus your thoughts on something. In your story, you mention you were so scared you prayed. That's all right. I'm not a religious person, so I don't pray, but I do repeat phrases or chants to myself whenever I'm paralyzed by fear. Basically, I repeat things like "Relax. It's okay." or any line from a book or song that pops into my head. I find that the mere fact of having something to recite helps calm me down. I believe that if you focus your mind on something, you close it off to any entities that might be trying to pry their way in (to feed off of emotions or whatever it is they do).
4) When you go to bed with your son, do a simple exercise. Relax, cuddle with him, and imagine a protective bubble surrounding you both. Make the bubble stronger. Have it surround you and your bed. Expand it to your bedroom... To your entire house. The bubble is a protective shield keeping anything harmful away. Really concentrate on the shield, give it energy and calmly let it envelop you. This concentration exercise will help calm you and reassure you.

I hope this helps at least a little!

Hi BadJuuJuu and thanks for commenting!:-)
Your story is also cool. I know what you mean, and I think it might be an explanation for what we saw. There certainly is a ton of cat energy in our house! We currently have FOUR critters...

Shlain, no, she never did anything or believed in anything (as far as the family knows!). πŸ˜‰

Rookdygin, I also thought it could be part of her spirit--but only at first. Sure, it occupied the space right in front of her door, but it felt all wrong. And why would it show up two or three months after her death and not sooner? Still, that might be the most plausible explanation.

One night, several months after the "creature" vanished, my boyfriend was in bed watching TV. I was already asleep next to him. He says that he suddenly felt paralyzed and after a while a woman's voice whispered in his ear: "I'm okay. I'm okay." He's absolutely convinced it was Tomasa.

This is really strange... πŸ˜•

Thanks guys! Yeah, it's really strange. But why would clutter and closed spaces attract that type of creature, whatever it was? When I tried to make it leave, it had a strange sort of reaction: like a chuckle, a shake of the head as if it were saying "yeah, nice try". πŸ˜•
