Drakelow Tunnels on 2013-06-10

My latest Ghost Hunt took part in a place known as Drakelow Tunnels. The tunnels are located in the Midlands area of the UK and were built initially as a shadow factory for Land Rover during World War 2. After the war the tunnels were taken over by the government who made changes to convert the ...

Spirit Games on 2013-05-14

I have just completed my third ghost hunt. Unfortunately this one didn't have the same level of activity as the first two but still had a few moments to take away and think about. The experience that left the biggest impression happened completely by accident. I had been doing a lone vigil in a s...

Hidden Room on 2013-05-08

In a past story I have briefly mentioned the house my grand-parents used to own. The House is a pre-war terrace in Birmingham. I'm not sure when it was built but the street in the same form as it is now shows on 1910 OS maps, so I would assume the house or variant of it was standing at the same time...

Second Ghost Hunt - Warwick Castle on 2013-04-16

The experiences of my first ghost hunt intrigued me enough to set out on a second hunt this time at Warwick Castle. What better place to spend a night in the dark. I will recite one of the most memorable experiences of the night. For those of you unfamiliar with Warwick Castle, it is a post-medie...

My First Ghosthunt on 2013-04-08

I took part in my first ghost hunt for Halloween last year. I will try to recite my experience as best I can but if you have any question feel free to ask. The location was at a hotel and bar that has a reputation for been active. The building still trades as a hotel so I will leave it unnamed. Suff...

Great Nan Visit on 2013-04-03

This happened to me when I was much younger and has been recounted back to me by family members who were present at the time. For some general background my Grandparents lived in a prewar two story house in Birmingham. My mom and I would stop at my grandparents house for the weekend, with my mom ...

It would of been good to capture this on camera, just to see what everyone else was seeing at the least.

Funny you should ask that Val. Through out the experience I was asked a number of times how I felt, but all the way through it I felt fine and myself.

Hi Aussiechick, I know exactly what you mean. If this had been my first ghost hunt I think I think a cleanup in the ails would of been needed. 😊

Swimsinfire, The energy building was new for me on this hunt, although I have done energy circles before The reason for it is that spirits are said to feed off of energy so by creating an energy circle we make for lack of a better word a buffet for them.
The part which was new to me was we were first asked to imagine roots growing from our feet into the ground anchoring us to rocks, and then to imagine been enveloped in white energy and to imagine passing it through our hands to the person on the left.
Ah Ok that makes more sense. Did think that putting a knife under a pillow seemed a bit dangerous, especially whilst sleeping.
Utopianchrist, Just a quick question, I've never heard of keeping a knife and matchbox under your pillow as a ward or charm. Do the items hold any significance?

Nikki12, that's a very creepy story. Seeing a figure during sleep paralysis isn't uncommon though. "Old hag syndrome" has people feeling or seeing an old woman with some cases saying the old women is sat on them pinning them down.
Some stories on YGS mention "The hat man" another figure seen felt during sleep paralysis.
Your description of the girl before she morphs reminds me of the girl from the ring.

Hi elfstone810, That is an interesting theory.

If I've understood it correctly you saying that. Positive and Negative actions can influence the energy in the area. Creating Positive and Negative energies.
Over time these energies run down making the residual haunting/feelings occur less often.

Now if we combine this with Rooks cleansing method which is a positive action used to create positive energy, you would be recharging the positive energy that exists. Essentially recharging the batteries.

Thank you for answering my question Akatsuki07.

It does sound like attention seeking to me. As in "Ha!, look at me." or Ha!, I'm here."

Id say the girl just wanted to be noticed.

HI Akatsuki07, thank you for sharing a very interesting story.

I'm more inclined to think that the sleeping area is been haunted by a young girl who is looking for attention. (Possibly lonely.) Hence asking if your sister is coming back.

The taking off of shoes for someone who has fallen asleep with them on is something that i'm sure most of us have done at sometime, so could be seen as helpful, and the pulling of the leg could be playful as you make no mention that the person was pulled off of what the were sleeping on.

Do you know what the girl was shouting into your Sisters ear?
Date: 2013-06-14
From your account the lady didn't seem to acknowledge your presence and walked straight past. From this I think you witnessed a residual haunting.

I can't help but picture the man as a high class Estate owner. I don't know if this will mean anything outside of the UK but imagine Downton Abbey. Top hat, tails and cane completely fit the image.

Just a theory but perhaps a stately home Abbey once stood on the grounds of Appleton Farm, and what you saw was the one time owner that wasn't to impressed that you had trespassed onto his land.

HI Aussiechick, thank you for sharing a fascinating story.

Since the spirit responded to your questions I think we can safely rule out a residual haunting.
As others have said it's difficult to say if the spirit himself is attached to the area or one of the Americans.
Perhaps he was someone who had got lost in the outback and succumb to exposure, hence been attracted to the fire.

Firstly welcome to YGS, and thank you for sharing.

Sounds to me like the women in the red dress is a resident spirit, and had no intention of frightening you hence the "Shh" motion.
Did your Step-Mom recognise the description of her?

I look forward to reading about any other encounters you might have.
Thank you Shady and Miracles. I can now safely say I have a better understanding of meditation. 😊

Miracles, I would love to hear about one of your meditation experiences if they aren't to personal to share.
(at) Shady4u. No Offence taken. My understanding of sleep paralysis is that it is caused by the mechanism that relaxes your muscles whilst in REM sleep continuing to persist whilst waking up. As meditation is a supposed to be a relaxed state I put two and two together and made a conclusion that perhaps it's possible for it happen in a meditative state.

After re-reading the story, I've learnt I firstly need to re-read stories before posting.
The O/P says the boy shook his head, well that rules out paralysis, and as you have said Shady no one else would of seen the white shadow.
Date: 2013-06-03
well that's a first on both counts for me.
I've never heard ghungaroo bells or the rattle of purcupine quills. They do sound very similar though.

I listened to the bells first and the first thing that came to mind was a field of insects.
It appears the O/P is describing the "Hat-Man" but the O/P describes "a fair, bearded man who wore a hat." If i'm correct in the Sleep paralysis stories the Hat-Man has only been seen as a shadow? And I don't think I've seen mention of him speaking? I'm happy to be corrected if i'm wrong.

I would say the boy has learned a form of meditation, the question here is can meditation bring on a form of Sleep paralysis?

Question to the O/P Did you actually hear the figure in the mirror speaking?
Very interesting story, sounds like Prasant had a very lucky escape.
I can't help but think that what you experienced was possibly two different entities.
The first trying to warn of coming accident and the second which pushed you. Although I can't think of any reason for the push.

Go for it Ari. I'm actually intrigued to find out what your theory on this is.

Hi Granny, I experienced SP a number of times but only ever at my parents home.
It would always start with buzzing in my ears and as you and Amihet have said the feeling of "here we go again."
I was a front Row forward for a Rugby team at the time and the feeling of been pinned down and helpless scared the hell out of me.
I never saw a shadow but always felt as though I wasn't alone in my room.

Luckily this stopped after moving into my own place.

How lucky is that bank holiday weekend in the UK say we have Monday off too.

Help yourself to the home brews there's plenty for everybody, and for the ladies, Home brewed Wine.

Now where have the samosas gone?
Date: 2013-05-24
Well if this BBQ is going to be a full weekender I'm coming along.

Val open the cooler i've got a few home brews to add to the mix. 😊

Sorry Val. I wasn't having a dig at the Mods. Although re-reading my comment I can see how it could be read that way.

I was mealy trying to say that the comment section had become an interesting read in it's own right. 😳
