Life Of The Party on 2014-05-06

My parents have lived in a rather large old farm house in Hamilton, Virginia for many years. The first section of the house was built in the 1960s and is where the modern kitchen and living area is. The second part of the house is the original farm house that was built around 1800. This section of t...

Edith Martin's Ghost on 2014-05-05

Many years ago we bought a house in south Richmond. The house was a rather grand brick house built on a small hill over looking Forest Hill Park in 1925 by Harvey and Edith Martin. Harvey and Edith lived a seemingly happy life in the house their entire married life, raised 5 sons and eventually died...

Betty's Ghost on 2014-05-05

When my wife and I were first married, we lived in a small house in Fairfax, Virginia with our 2-month-old Labrador puppy, Ben. I had/have never considered that. I obviously did notice the similarity in action, but never thought about an entity being connected to the family. I always just assumed that it was more a 'place' than a 'person'. I'll have to give some more thought to this. The only odd thing about it is that Edith seemed to have the run of the house. She didn't seem confined while the entity at my parent's farm definitely seems confined to the oldest section. We've never experienced anything anywhere else in the house. Definitely need to give that some thought, though. Thank you for the added perspective.

Valkricry, that's an interesting perspective. I never thought of it like that, like a favor. It always seemed more a 'chastisement', particularly given how loudly the door slammed.:o)

Thank you for the welcome. And, no, Ben was never hurt. From what the landlord told us, Betty's dogs were never allowed in the house, which was why there was a fairly large kennel in the back yard. But this...entity?...was definitely angry. There was always 'anger' associated with 'her' and everything she did and everything we felt. I feel bad for her, but am, like you, happy she found peace.
