I\'m interested in other people\'s experiences with the paranormal. My accounts have been reasonably mild and sometimes I can be a bit of a sceptic! But hey I love a good read.

Papa? on 2015-08-26

My story is brief, the reason for posting it is to see if this has happened to anyone else. This took place when I was around 12 or 13 years old. And really only just came to me now that I have been on this site reading many peoples' experiences. My parents and I went away every year at Christmas...

Basil Brush, Is That You? on 2015-08-19

This experience involved a number of people, but I will share my experience and my parents also. Roughly five years ago my dad and his best friend of 25+ years were out in the bay doing what they love, fishing. My dad's best friend was Basil, a practical joker with a love for rum! Whilst fishing ...

Toilet Paper on 2015-08-19

At the time when this night took place I lived in a small old seaside town outside of Brisbane. My partner had just lost his job and took on a casual job working night shift in the city until 12pm. The rental we were living in at the time is around 55-60 years old, one of the first homes in this sea...

Tweed- Silly me! I did not even think to pop it in my most recent story, Thank You

Miracles51031- In regards to your comment on the other post, Miracles your never b*tchy!X

Otteer - It never really scared me, just puzzled me! I never checked to see what my dad had been wearing but when I did see this "ghost" of my dad he was shirtless wearing the stubbies (pants) that my dad always wore and the same hat! Very interesting it was indeed.

Red- That was so interesting to read! I had no idea about the history of the dreamcatcher. I had never seen one in the shape of a triangle before until just the other day (when I bought it). It is handmade from a local girl down the beach and she makes them all herself. I had also noticed that in the middle (I guess it would be the "catcher") that there is a large hole in the middle... So hard to explain. When I get home I am going to take a photo of it and show you guys!

Rook- Yes, it is definitely not traditional at all. It was handmade by a local girl down at the beach. I will move it tonight and hang it up like another photo as you suggested and let you know the outcome. If nothing changes I will take it down and see what happens then. Good advice!

Rook,

I am a grown woman and know right from wrong, hence the apologies to the writer, and I did not ask for your opinion on my manners. I did say that I have googled this and came up with nothing. How are 2 old stories that are written on here years ago going to give me any answers? Mind you they don't even make any sense! Do people even look at the comments anymore? In regards to the email, I was not picking one particular person to talk to, I am trying to talk to all who come across this post in the hopes that someone may have an answer as I don't think anyone on YGS is the "go to" person when it comes to these things...

I hope there is no bad blood between us. I am very sincere when I say I am sorry and I'm not after anyone's "limelight". Maybe the site needs a forum?

Regards,

This is totally irrelevant to this writers story and I do apologise in advance but I am experiencing a few things since I have bought my first "Dreamcatcher". My question is for ANYONE who can give me a possible explanation. I bought a dreamcatcher 3 days ago from the markets. It's a handmade triangle style made with two small twigs (it's beautiful). I have hung it in the doorframe of mine and my husband's room. The last 2 nights I have not been able to sleep, tossing and turning and getting quite bad stomach cramps and sweaty... I've tried to google whether or not they can be bad luck or what not and have really come up with zilch. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
I did not feel the need to put this as a story as I would just like answers quick so I can get a good night's sleep. Of course I know there could be many logical reasons for me not sleeping but I've never had a worry until 2 nights ago.

Again I apologise if this was selfish of me, I just did not know where else I could ask... ā¤
Thanks for sharing Dreamer, I have been hoping you would post something! šŸ˜Š

Red: I agree with you there! This is so well written I feel like we should all be sitting around a campfire with torches held up to our faces. šŸ˜†

Shrush - I myself have had a similar experience also. I once seen what seemed like the spirit of my Dad. And oh boy did he look real. Iā€™m still not sure what this was but I have never experienced it again.
I hope you get the answers your looking for.

dreamer01- That is crazy! I have heard that people that sleepwalk do all sorts of things. My husbands brother used to get a slice of bread, go out the front door and stand on the end of their deck and take one bite out of the bread, always in the middle then drop it and walk back inside! He is a weird one though haha šŸ˜†

Tweed- Hahaha! Not a worry, I got what you meant šŸ˜Š

Hi All šŸ˜Š

Yes a very strange encounter. I have asked my mum if he had ever done anything like this before and she said no, not that she is aware of. I don't know if I will ever get the answer to this one! Never happened again though.
Thank you for all your comments ā¤

I really enjoyed reading this Ryan! You write very well.
I wonder why this woman seems to be in your sights everywhere you go. I myself cannot give any advice but I hope someone can give you some insight. I look forward to reading more of your stories, keep them coming! šŸ˜Š

So sorry to hear about your Aunt Saher. ā¤
By the sounds of it she is watching over her children and the rest of her family. You are very lucky to have such a beautiful angel by your side. ā¤

Tweed- Aren't these HOBS interesting little beings!

Notjustme- Thank you! And yes, one of my favourite lines šŸ˜

Saher- Thank you Saher šŸ˜ I will always try to make something humoral anyway I can!

RedWolf- Very odd indeed! And I am certainly glad it never happened again as it was not fun pulling it all out šŸ˜
I do believe she was a kind old soul who just wanted to check on her house, maybe even some company since at this time I was always alone. I do think she lived a very lonely life with her two loves (the poodles). I work 900m from this old home and I have thought about talking to the new people there about some things but I'm sure everyone would agree that I would look totally insane if I started mentioning an old lady ghost haha!
Yes I think we all have that one "creepy room" in our homes!
RedWolf- I never gave that a single thought actually! There is a great possibility that it could have been an upset family member or friend. I know it is something dad finds hard to live with (giving the ashes back) but I don't think it has crossed his mind to ask for them again, he may not be as much of a sceptic as I think! Thank you for your condolences šŸ˜Š šŸ˜Š

Valkricry- Thank you ā¤ It was very hard on my poor Dad and I don't think he has even forgiven himself, but we all know, and I'm sure Basil knows that he did whatever he could. I have heard a lot about people passing and being cremated and sent back to their loved ones and strange things have started happening. It is a very good chance that we had a mischievous spirit capitalizing on a death in our family.

Sorry to all the late replies on my stories, I have been enjoying a blissful weekend away at the beach but now it's back to work!

How horriable for you and your husband! I am glad to hear you have now moved out and are not having any strange things happen now. Is your husband still seeing the man (gist I got from another posters comment)? The best of luck to you and your husband. ā¤ ā¤ ā¤

Can anyone else see what looks like an orange or yellow face with eyes behing the whole 'snake' thing? Could just be a cushion though! šŸ˜œ

Wow! I cannot believe your friend T shared a similer experience to you! And maybe even the same ghost!

Fantastic writing, you kept me glued to my screen! šŸ˜Š
Thank you for your comments and condolence's. ā¤

Tweed- I know exactly where you are coming from, because touching someone in the shower isn't friendly, its creepy!
I never got that vibe ever from Basil, he was really like a best friend to me aswell, always joking with me and teaching me how to cook (he was a great cook). I do see where you are coming from though. Its something I do not think I will ever get the answer to. It could have been the negative engery in the house also like you said that someone thought it would be a good idea to play on that.

Chapulin1234- Yes we all think it had a lot to do with the ashes being in the home. I will never forget when I told my Oma when I was 13 that I would see my Great Papi on the end of my bed watching me sleep every thursday night for a month after he died, Oma who had his ashes in her home told me that every Thursday night she would here the shuffling noise he used to make whilst he would walk up the hallway. So I do believe ashes should be set free! I'm sorry to hear about your dad ā¤ It's very interesting to know that you had a similer experience with ashes being in your home also.

Wardo- Yep haha! Now when we talk about it we all think, yep there is no logical reason for that!

Samtillie- Thank you šŸ˜Š Yes it was horriable for my poor dad, it took him a while to get out in the boat again!

Tweed- What can I say, it's been a slow day at the office haha! šŸ˜‰ Fantastic and exciting stories, although I am sure they would not have been at the time for the writter.

Your stories are next Tweed! šŸ˜Š
Hi Buttongrass,

This may have already been suggested as I have only skimed over the comments, have you ever heard of a HOB? Google it, I have only recently discovered what this is and its very interesting! šŸ˜Š

Wow, this is so interesting.
I have had a similer experience with an older lady ghost, involving her almost clogging my toilet!
When I was frightened by this ghost I asked her not to frighten me and she was welcome to stay in our home.
I think you should try and commuicate with her. šŸ˜Š šŸ˜Š
