House Hauntings Part 1 on 2015-09-16

I live in the west side of Singapore and my family has moved a total of 2 times. The first was moving from my grandparents' house to our own in a new estate at the time. I was a baby then so I don't remember the actual move. The second was when I was about 10 years old, we moved from that one to ano...

What's That In The Back Corner Of The Classroom? on 2015-09-08

It was during school choir camp when I was in Sec 1. My school was (and still is) located in the western side of Singapore and in that particular neighbourhood, the surrounding area is well-known to have weird happenings. By the time it got dark, the school did look creepy. There were 2 blocks, of w...

Whoa creepy. Whatever it was outside really wanted your attention. Glad you came out okay! And yeah I agree with some of the comments here. It could be attracted to whatever practices done by the people at the centre. Could be looking for more offerings or something.

I think the poster meant that she felt that something was up before the bowling event, maybe strange things had been happening but she only found out exactly why they happened until after T talked through her friend. Correct me if I'm wrong, Sammi575. Either way, your story is an interesting read and like others have said, be careful with these things that have taken a liking to you.

And LOL teletubbies:p

Yikes! Pretty creepy experience there. Your poor friend got the worse of it. Like the others commented, it might be a time slip or something. I think you probably crossed the path of an evil spirit there (the black-eyed man?) and it might have wanted to fool and trap you for its own amusement or to warn you to stay away next time. These things can be quite territorial. Did anything else happen after that night?

Thanks for reading, lakshiat-rattan:) Yeah just thinking about it again to describe the experiences in this post really creeped me out too.

Yeah I totally agree with that. People can be pretty cruel. Much love to you and take care!:)

That's a good creepy story! Aww man, I can only imagine what it feels like to hear those whispers.:/

I used to love collecting Barbie dolls growing up even though my parents weren't too happy about it. They never told me why exactly until I got older. Thankfully, nothing ever happened. The belief is that dolls attract "evil spirits". Dolls or anything that has a face (including photographs) are best not to be kept around the house. It's believed that these spirits would enter these dolls or photos for whatever purpose. And if you look at it in another way, people who wish to curse others through black magic or something can easily use photographs of their victim to do it. Interesting, right? Haha
[at] Tweed: Your experience was a very good read! Thanks for sharing. It's interesting how the thing was that intrigued by the pen. Haha I look forward to reading about your Dad's experience. The other glowing type of ghost story was undoubtedly creepy.:|

[at] sheetal: Thanks, sheetal!:) Bad history? Not that I know of. All I know is that it's in a well-known "dirty" town. The whole place used to be a rural outback with undeveloped areas occupied by forests, farmlands and factories. The school itself is near a park where visitors can get disturbed by strange sightings. The school too is notorious for weird noises and sightings. People living near it have complained before about random ringing of the school bell and the lights of one classroom suddenly switched on, both happened late at night.

[at] lady-glow: You have an... Interesting name:| lol Thanks for reading.:) Yeah schools everywhere have their fair share of ghost stories. Oh your poor principal! Haha these stories can get quite ridiculous. As for whether my experience was a prank, I'm not sure. Could be, who knows? And yeah, I do keep in touch with some of my former classmates but I've never talked to them about this story. It was only recently that I posted my story on my Facebook (inspired by an article) and one of them mentioned how she also heard footsteps that night.
Hi Tweed, thanks for reading. Do share your experiences. I'd love to hear them:)

This story happened 12 years ago so my memory of it may have exaggerated what actually happened. But I do believe that I saw it quite well because it's still so vivid in my mind. I'm not sure how big it actually was because I only took a quick look at it before hiding in my sleeping bag haha Though I did manage to see what looked like the bottom of a white dress. Sounds weird, I know. But it's the only thing that makes sense because I've seen something else that looked like that before (another story for another day lol)

When thinking back about this experience, my adult mind is trying to reason that it probably looked like it was glowing because it's white but it's probably nothing and the classroom was just really dark. I can't recall if there were lights on outside. But I believe the shutters were all closed. It could be my imagination running wild after listening to the stories at the time though but who knows? Haha

Hi there! That's really scary. I'm sorry it happened to you.:/ But glad to hear you have given birth to a baby boy!

I'd like to clarify though that this isn't a Muslim belief. This is a cultural belief and in this situation it's a Malay belief. But I think outside the Malay community, other societies might have their own version of the 'cik pon'.

But since the poster is Muslim, she tried to fight it with Quranic verses. In Islam, so-called evil spirits such as this are all, what we call, bad 'jinns'. Yup, all. No matter what you call it, it's actually of the same specie, 'jinn'. These things want nothing but to steer you away from God. The reason why it laughed was probably because it wanted to distract the poster so that she would stop praying (i.e. Say God's name) and give up.

That's the basic explanation of these things with regards to beliefs in culture and religion because they're not the same. I'm no expert but this is my understanding.

Take care all:)

Haha I've had a similar experience once, except that it was knocking on my apartment's ceiling. I was trying to watch TV one night some years ago. It wasn't very late, I think it was around 10pm. And suddenly there was constant knocking sounds coming from the ceiling. I didn't think it would be my neighbour upstairs. Plus, it's known as you'd hear weird sounds like that in HDB flats. I got irritated because it disturbed me while I was trying to relax and watch TV so I just told it to stop knocking. And it did. Now thinking back, I shouldn't have said or done anything even though nothing happened after that. It's just best to ignore.
Creepy. Do you feel like it's the same presence? Any other strange happenings after that?
