Immersion on 2016-06-06

This is another story happened in one of my community outreach activities (called IMMERSION) as a teacher with my freshmen college students in a Catholic school. It was February 2013. The event took place in a municipality in Camarines Sur, Philippines, near the foot of Mt. Isarog. I was with my B.S...

Tree Giant on 2016-05-17

The story occurred in year 2012, during on of my community outreach activities with my students called "immersion". The students have to stay for three days and two nights in one community/village with the host families assigned by the teacher and field coordinators. Host families were chosen by the...

Fly High on 2016-05-10

My hometown is rumored for witches, or in Filipino terms "aswang". Though my mother and brother said they have experiences of hearing and seeing "tiyanak", a newborn baby witch, I wasn't afraid and have second thoughts if they're really true. Because in my opinion, the very reason why my hometown is...

Tacloban City is often hit by typhoons. It's one of the most affected places in the Philippines every time a typhoon will hit Visayas area.

Personally I do not approve of taking a photo of the a dead man's body for a remembrance. Well, for investigation purposes, yes. Thanks, anyway. 😊

I guess the photo was taken at the crime scene for investigation purposes but I don't know why she saved it on her phone. Uh, some Filipinos really take photos of dead bodies. That's sad and unethical.

Hi STARRCHICC14! Thank you for your comment. God bless you and your mom. 😊 😊

Mazzmarach, hello! Thank you very much for reading my story.:-) Glad "it" didn't follow me back home. Haha.

Hello, roylynx! Thanks for the information.:-)

Sorry, typo-error. You're one of my favorites here in YGS!

Hi Tweed! You'll be a good author. Your storied really amaze me; not just by your experiences, but the way you write them.:-)
Nice story. Thanks for sharing this. It gave me goosebumps, during the part when you actually saw the shadow. Well-written! How I wish I could write English this good. Haha.

Oh. I hope he is harmless. Is "he" still around? Did Punky had any other encounter with Mr. Mike?
Date: 2016-06-08
Hi Lady-glow! Actually, I have shown the photo to some photography enthusiasts in our university (not to be mistaken as experts), but they can't tell how that shadow-like face was formed, or where it was coming from.

I personally don't believe in Kapres because I grew up in the middle of the farm; with a neighbor 250 meters away. Our house was surrounded by big trees, but never encountered such entity.

The one that appeared in the photo just looks like a tree giant, as it is described in books and TV shows. But I was thinking perhaps, what we encountered that night was a ghost, considering that "someone" was "following" us way back home.

Hi. Yes, I do have the photo. But I still have to ask permission from my former student/s.:-)

I wonder what would've happened if you opened the door. Thanks for sharing your experience, anyway. 😕
Nice story! I can relate 'cause I'm a Filipino.:-) Regards.

Hi Tweed. Oh, it was your guardian again! But you spent your earlier years in Australia, right? Then you moved to U.K? Does this mean that your guardian followed you from Australia to U.K?:-)

lady-glow, there are some other stories here about Manananggal. One that I read, the author even saw the other half of the body (lower part). I believe, manananggals have that special oil they apply on their body before splitting into two.
Date: 2016-06-04
Hello. It's also hard for me to believe, but it's true. There are people in our city who have experiences, particularly that caretaker whom I asked to be with me. A manananggal's wings are big enough to cover a whole car (for example). My mom's friend have seen one when she's pregnant and driving a motorcycle. It was covering her and she wondered why she hasn't seen any shadow of her on the road.

Of course, I'm aware of the changes during pregnancy. But there are things you can't explain "logically". One is fear and intuition. No animal has that kind of huge wings, flying just outside your window.

Tweed, as for the witch caught in a form of dog, I didn't ask anymore and haven't heard of that 'coz I don't have TV that time in my place. They said it was found in another municipality, and the dog turned out to be a woman. She was put behind the bars, but I don't know what happened after.

Thank you, everyone!
Wow. I searched about him. He has a Wikipedia page!:-D

If it happened to me, my mum would probably freak out and would always ask a priest to bless our house. Haha. Your mum is cool.
Date: 2016-06-04
Thank you, Mikado-Isha. I delivered my baby safely, with the guidance of God. After the experience, I was always cautious. Thank you.
Oh! Interesting! Are you related by blood? Has he been long dead before you were born?:-) How did your mum react? Just curious, you know. Haha. I only have very few paranormal experiences but most of the time, I couldn't see 'them'. But the people I'm with could see them following me. Haha. Sounds weird.

Re: my friend. He resembles to Justine Timberlake. Haha. And he's from 'Brizzle' (Bristol). He loves playing at the Victoria Rooms of Bristol Uni. But that was a long time ago. He's a beautiful part of my past.:-)
It still creeps me thinking that he's around and watching you most of the time. Well, we never know. Perhaps, everywhere you go, he's there. Did you ever wonder who he is? Perhaps you are related by blood?

And by the way, you reminded me of my Brit friend. Also a musician and loves playing the piano.:-)
