Mad Ghost In The Closet on 2016-12-07

My son and I used to watch Ghost Adventures a lot and really enjoyed it. He became adventurous and bought an EVP recorder and a good camera and went on his own ghost adventures along with his fiance. They first went to the haunted Myrtles Plantation and got lots of wild pictures, some of orbs, esp...

The Thing By My Shed on 2016-11-29

One morning a couple of months ago I was working in my back yard and walked around the side of my shed near the back of my property. I had a wheelbarrow leaning up against the side wall and when I walked past the wheelbarrow, something on a concrete pad caught my eye. It was a light brown/creme colo...

Hey tweed,
Just checking back in and haven't seen whatever that was again. I check under and around the shed regularly and found nothing. Guess we can chalk it up to another of life's grand mysteries. Also,I love your stories and your input along with the other "regulars".

Loved the story and thanks a bunch for sharing. It's funny how your mind tries to instantly rationalize when you see something paranormal as if by instinct. I had an experience and later laughed at myself because for several minutes afterwards I was like "Wow that's unbelievable!",and my mind is saying "It's not possible.".

Hi E. Lynx and piyuprmr,
There is a statue in the cemetery of a Lorenzo de Zavala, a Mexican General during the Republic of Texas era who switched to Texas' side and became a politician and helped draftthe Constitution of the Republic of Texas.Anyway, something creeped me out while looking at it and it was broad daylight. I bet it really is spooky at night because it's deep in the woods.

Thanks for the advice Roy lynx and Bennie! I will tell him. That is why I won't go to the cemetery down the road.I've heard too many stories about people getting followed home after ghost hunting at cemeteries. There is one up north that is notorious for apparitions and one person mysteriously died after something followed him home.

LOL Tweed! I don't know but I wouldn't want to make her really mad! What's also funny is that the scientific community wants to tell people that EVP's are hogwash, but if they heard what I heard I bet they couldn't explain it!

I'm with you on that,Argette!I would have left the hotel running and never looked back!

Hi Sheld,
Thanks for sharing. Several things in this story jump out at me.First, black jaguars, or panthers, are pretty rare.Secondly, you're not going to see very many as pets due to the hassles encountered with permits. Then there is the tail wagging. There's a huge misconception with the public that an animal wagging it's tail is a good thing. Many times it is just the opposite, especially with large predators like jaguars.Anyway, anything is possible. Please let us know more. Were their other witnesses. If there were, how were they reacting to this big cat or whatever it was?

Thanks,Lady-glow!I will see if my son can send me the pics so I can post them.☺
Hi Enlightened,
I've heard EVP's that seem to indicate that sometimes the spirit knows and sometimes they dont. Like the ones where they say "Help me" or "I've been shot" and then those where they say they're dead or a loved one visitng in the night to say they love you. It's all a great mystery to me. Loved your story!
Hi Always wondering,
Loved your story and just wanted to say that I felt at first that the potato chip munching was a residual haunting, but then changed my mind because the chips were there at the time and not from something that may have happened long ago. Very puzzling to me. And I'm like you... I would have said "Go on eating those chips.Don't let me stop you.I'm just sitting here minding my own business!" right before I started praying.Lol!
As for the time being 3:30,some people try to downplay the 3-3:30 thing, but I kept having episodes several years ago where I kept waking in the night and would look at my clock and EVERY time it was 3:14.Sometimes it would happen 3 or 4 nights in a row. The odds of that happening randomly are surely astronomical. That went on for months and then suddenly stopped. I only wish I knew what the importance of that time was. Maybe somebody had died in the house at that certain time.Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Hi tweed!,
I can see the possibility of late night mowing, but with your hubby hearing the hammering makes me think of it as a residual haunting. Seems to me if it were a generator or mower, your husband would hear something besides a hammering. Enjoyed your story as always.
Hi agatha,
Thanks for sharing! We lived in a 100 year old house in the 90's and never experienced anything besides wood floors creaking. I did have a few VERY strange dreams, but can't pinpoint the reason behind those. The young couple that bought the house from us swear it was haunted. You know the funny thing is that legally, you have to tell potential home buyers that your house is haunted, but scientists and skeptics don't want to admit that ghosts exist. As far as you or myself not having experiences and others experiencing them, maybe spirits react differently to different people. As far as basements go, for some reason evil spirits tend to lurk in basements. Thank God we don't have basements in Texas because I would have to carry a Crucifix and a bazooka every time I went in it!

Hi corydoor,
I enjoyed reading your story and the recent story by Deciduous about shadow men. I hope I never run into one, much less a herd of them like you experienced.
Also, thank you for your service and your sacrifice, brother.God Bless you and wishing for the best Christmas ever for you.

Hi Sanchez and jaderae!,
Sanchez, I do live a couple of blocks from a river, so that is a possibility. Tweed mentioned eels also. Thanks a bunch! And jaderae, that is too funny! I'm thinking seriously about taking twelveam's advice about the security camera and maybe unraveling thus mystery.
Merry Christmas to all on YGS!

Thanks for the input. That's a pretty interesting theory. I say that because when it jumped it didn't seem to have any way of jumping or hopping like an animal using its legs to push. It somehow propelled itself through the air. I don't know it was just crazy. I guess you had to be there to experience it.Anyway,I've been reading your comments and those of others on here and I enjoy and respect what you have to say.

What I meant to say is that recurring nightmares are a sign that you're not getting enough deep sleep. Also, there are lots of truly good people on this site who can help you. Thanks for sharing your story.

Hi Deciduous,
I really can't help with the paranormal part but I do know a lot about the dreams. I think the newer dreams are from memories of your real encounters buried in your subconscious. Those dreams happen during REM sleep. This also tells me that you are not getting enough deep sleep, which everybody needs health wise. Things that can rob you of deep sleep are room temperature, bad pillows, excess outside light getting in your bedroom, etc.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on,Deciduous.Hope I helped in some way. Good luck and sweet dreams! 😁

Thanks for the idea, twelveam!I never thought of that.Enlightened1959,as I went over the event in my mind I remembered reading about rods but couldn't remember what they were called. The way this thing moved mechanically ruled out a snake and made me think of rods or something that we just don't know about. The object was lying straight, whereas snakes tend to coil up. The type of snake that jaderae mentioned aren't found anywhere near Texas and this didn't have rattles (and I really don't remember this thing even having eyes) and it was too light colored for a timber rattler or a diamondback.Jaderae,I bet your husband puckered up (if you know what I mean.LOL!) like I did when I first thought it was a snake! Thand to all of you for taking time to discuss this. You are all the greatest and God Bless all of you.

Thanks for your comments!DandK,I have 3 cats that must terrorize snakes because we haven't seen a snake on our property in 7 or 8 years. This thing was round on the ends, too.I thought about your idea,Rich73,but I haven't had a day off in awhile (I work 12 hour shifts). I should have time next week to do further investigation. And Tweed, you and I have exactly the same thoughts on my experience. I hadn't been around the shed in quite a while and whatever it was may have gotten accustomed to no humans being around.Plus,DandK mentioned cats, and there is nothing that would last a day in our yard with them around. They catch anything from bugs to moles to snakes and will toy with them before they finish them off. Whatever this was had no fear of them to be lying out in the open. And Tweed, I bet somebody would have laughed if they saw that thing and I both jump at the same time like we did! 😊
