Ah, Taz.
Don't be a wet blanket... Your friends will show up eventually, as for your family...well, you didn't real choose them anyway. Chances are, most will not be lost... And 9 months from now, reinforcements will arrive, procreated from those who are finding ways to keep warm as we speak.

If I could find work in my chosen profession, I would not be adverse to living where I grew up. Factories are closed and farms are shuttered, so there is more of a white collar community then there used to be. But NY has taxes on taxes...don't mind paying my share, but geez.
Haven't been back in a year and a half. I owe some folks a visit, I guess... Have to did out my tank tops and camo pants.

No matter where you go... There you are. The more you compare how different places are, the more they seem the same.
I can't complain... I had it pretty easy growing up, by most standards.

My hometown is a great place to be from...

Left, I guess? Dead-center upstate NY... Cow country.
Ever see the documentary, "My Brother's Keeper"? Filmed fifteen minutes from where I grew up...scary. Beautiful country, but... Economically depressed, high drug and alcohol abuse, monster trucks and whitetail bucks...

Careful on your geography comments... Or at least tell me where to move to!

LOL Miracles, I haven't seen Tangled yet. I heard it was really cute. I don't think I have ever seen Deliverance. Lou, I tell you I would rather face a nasty ghostie any time then be in that bar again. I whispered to my friend..."There staring like they want to use us for spare parts" 😨 That's when we decided to take a couple of 6 packs to go and raced back to the house.

LOL at Lou's comment. "they can't keep two calves together" ROFL! That's blurb #2 πŸ˜†

Miracles,

Lou I know what you mean. A friend of mine has a house out in the stix of Pennsylvania and there is a bar in town. Cosmo,
Where I'm from, we have more critters than little toes (and teeth, I might add), so keeping firearms handy is a must.

Javelina,
Frig' political correctness. Let's get 'em while we can... These guys might not know what nuggies or wedgies are... And as far as games... We can teach them some twisted rendition of kick the can, while we are at it.
With regard to cattle in general, you are not a blonde, so I guess you could still be a good rancher... Even in heels.

Lou,
You do have a point. However, we can't go willy-nilly into these things, caution must be observed lest the laws of unintended consequences comes back to bite us in the rear end. For though we share a common language with these two, we differ greatly when it comes to slang. And one small misinterpretation, on any one's part could ignite an international incident. I may have gotten away with it this time, but who knows what could happen if we're not careful? 'Red Rover' may have a completely different translation across the pond. And I shudder to think of what the Aussies might make of it

PS~
And I'll thank you to leave my calves out of this conversation, sir. You've already got these people trying to pull my tail. Oh will this abuse never end?

Well I see there was some midnight madness going on again. LOL! So let's see we can add cow tipping, snipe hunting and cow chasing to our bucket list. Along with our drop bear investigation. Since I'm considered a Yankee/City Slicker I can't think of anything to add. 😒 I was never really good with animals, #1 I'm highly allergic to anything that sheds, #2 every time I went horseback riding it always ended with something happening to me that would make you wet your pants, and #3 I'm with taz on hating guns. I can't believe they had to dig the pellet out of your poor little toe, I think I would have passed out x_x

Nice, Javelina, Granny, Miracles... Corrupt our poor Aussie and Brit friends into fooling their friends (I'm jealous I did not think of it). Could be dangerous though...Taz's friends will be lost in the moors and stuck in a peat bog. Darkness's friends will be tempting the croc's. Those Aussie's are a tough lot though... At least the ones from the outback... Where men are men, and sheep are scared.

Oh, and Miracles... Do you have an outfit to match the simile?;)

DARKNESS,
I come from a really small town and when I was growing up we had no cable TV as it wasn't yet invented. No vcr's or video games. Just get up and go play with your friends. And we had pretty good imaginations too. But the snipe hunt goes further back than our generation, I don't think anybody knows when or where it started, it just gets handed down to each generation. We had others too! But I'll keep those secret for now.
It would be funny to hear it started up in Aussie land! πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

As soon as you see you've got their attention you ask them if they've ever been snipe hunting and would they like to go too. Basically, you make it up as you go along, what they look like, how they only come out when it's really dark out because they are night creatures ans shy. Tell them they can just bring pillow cases for the bag and one flashlight each. Have them meet you in some remote area, we always had them meet us by the lake shore so you could chase the snipe toward the water because they hated water and it made it easier to corner them. They can carry a wooden pole or branch to shake the bushes and tall grass and scare them out of hiding, then scoop them up in the pillow case.

He's right, it's a prank that's played on the city slickers, only where I grew up the city folks were called "flat-landers".
Anyway, the prank works best if you give it a big build up. You know, you and a friend just casually shootin' the bull around the one/ones you want to prank and one of you mentions something like "Man, you should see the size of the snipe this year, I've never seen them this big before", then the the other friend replies back "We wo're not going to have to wait much longer, the season opens... (insert date of next new moon). I'm going out the first night, I'm not going make the same mistake I did last year. By the next new moon there were hardly any left". You reply,"Did you pick up extra batteries?" Friend replies "You bet I did! How about that new bag limit? I remember when there was no limit and we could hunt all night!" you say "Hey, at least they didn't outlaw flashlights. They tried though" Friend replies "It won't be long before they outlaw Snipe hunting altogether. You never know, this could be our last hunt"...
You go back and forth trying to reel the other people into the conversation, get them interested in going on what could be the 'last snipe hunt ever'.

Wow, taz - looks like he ruffled your feathers too, didn't he πŸ˜†

Like I've said before, and I'll say it again, people really should stop taking these comments so seriously. I'm sure there are people who don't believe in my stories and that's their prerogative, just as it's mine not to believe every story I read.

Thanks for stopping by taz πŸ˜‰

he he he. It is very common to think that people will bond based on their home land. In my opinion that would make someone have to live up to my expectations even more if they were to live in my great state of AZ. Don't make my state look a fool.

This was a fun read though... I dropped some popcorn down the seat. LOL

aljohn just one more point here (yep on one again) if you care to read my comment just before yours, IM THE ONE TAKING THE PISS!?!.
Its my comment that says ohio is not allowed to even try singing as they can't recall a song that don't include farming.
Now I understand your using the fact that lou put a few comments here and you twisted mine to suit your personal vendeta against him, well sorry but I'm sticking by my friends here yes lou and miracles are friends, hope you got some yourself to get back to as you blew that little spat out yourself

hang on there! When did I say lou had done anything like that? Has one of my (forgotten) comments be removed by the powers that be?
I don't think so!?!
Oh and lou sharing a homeland is as far as that goes.
What rubbish is this guy talking about?
A 2 year old would see they jokes in there and the other comments.
Sorry to say but if (and I doubt this very much) lou did say something like that he knows he would loose his little pink straight jacket and get the cold corner of the padded cell.

So to aljohn your agreeing to something that is not there sorry to disapoint

aiafaith - To be completely honest, the psychic part of my abilities I had shut down years before this story. I shut them down during the time my story "Ghost in the Orange T-Shirt" took place.

The abilities, or gifts, I shut down during this time were the abilities to see and hear ghosts.

Good to see you again 😊

aiafaith1,

Aren't we all? Psychic ability is not a unique trait, just an untapped resource.

Miracles, you're psychic? You said in your story that you "shut off" your abilities.

Nah, Lou - hadn't even looked Aljohn up. Thanks for pointing that out. Funny how people think that, don't they? If that was the case, I'd have been on the band wagon with that... Bleep bleep... Yesterday who "claimed" to be from Ohio and that just ain't the case. What a piece of work that one was. I'd just as soon be on my own little island πŸ˜†.

Miracles,
Haven't caught the connection yet? Our beloved Taz and Aljohn share a homeland. Apparently, he felt he would receive full acceptance from his countryman when he tossed the rabble from the colonies under the bus. Not sure what part of Taz's comments he agreed to either...

Lou - one of these day's I'm so going to lose my internet privileges! OMG! And then I'm going to blame it on you, not me. Oh no! It's going to all be on you! Thank God the big boss is out right now!

And I love you too ❀. You know me, can't stand by and let someone "try" to pick a fight with one of my friends. Even when that friend can definitely take care of himself. πŸ˜‰

Aljohn - btw, and I hate speaking for someone else, but here I am. Taz, correct me if I'm wrong here, okay? I do not believe taz thought Lou was undermining me or making fun of me either. Taz gives just as good as Lou does. Most of my fun in the comments from my story has come from these 2, among others. So I do believe you have misread the intent behind taz's comments.

I just don't think you're getting the sense of humor either of them have. πŸ˜‰

Alright, Miracles. I will come clean. I do not believe your story. There is no way you can border Kentucky, the home of 7 million people with five last names, and have indoor plumbing in your home. I just 'aint buyin' it!

Aljohn34 - are you talking about my story here and that Lou is undermining it and that he is making fun of me? Before you get defensive (and I don't think it's on my behalf), you probably should go back and read all the comments here, as well as other stories Lou and I have commented on: his and mine among others.

There is not one comment in this story, nor any other, where Lou has ever offended me. And believe me, I've been offended πŸ˜†. I've even misread a comment or two and took them offensively when they weren't meant that way.

I would prefer you keep your personal vendetta against Lou off my stories. As well as having become a friend, I value this man's opinion, and wonderful sense of humor, and have asked for it many times (opinion and humor).

I'm asking for skepticism when I submit my stories, the same as everyone else does. If Lou doesn't believe something in my story, I hope to high Heaven he points it out to me. Not everything is paranormal, which is why I've asked for everyone's participation in this story.

I'm sorry if I've offended you, but if you'd been looking out for my best interests, I would have responded the same way but I'd have also said thank you. In this case, you were trying to prove Lou is out to disprove me, just like he was you. Sorry, not in this case.

Aljohn, Aljohn, Aljohn... You should be careful wading into dark waters when you don't know what lurks beneath. You really should not allow this repressed anger to get the best of you. You posted your story a month ago and I gave you my opinion; nobody said you had to accept it, nor was it condemnation. I simply stated some natural events that could have caused the occurrence, and then CLEARLY stated that I had no clue how the events actually took place because I was not there and have never seen your home.
With regards to my stories, I've never sought fans. If they had not happened to me, I would have a hard time believing them... Your opinions on my stories are just as valid as mine on yours... Sorry mine were met with reasonable acceptance and only four people commented on yours... Maybe you should buy another dog.

I agree with Taz, Louslips you have completely underminded her story and made fun of her personally, your not giving her story a remote chance but if I could point out your stories are not better, so perhaps you can stop being so sadistic and Just for the record I shall point out that you also underminded my story you just literally told me it was wrong but then again I would not expect someone as moronic as you to correctly analyse a story.

Taz,
I think that video is on Youtube already, sshhh! Don't tell Miracles, I don't think she remembers it... One of those nights, I guess. She's from Ohio, so I think it was some kind of Karaoke Corn Festival... Or something.

Miracles? You do not trust ME, to send appropriate materials to your place of work? I guess you do know me, a bit.

Loop away Carl,

I'll check it out and see what's going on with the soap. Gonna have to watch taz, though. He might get loopy if he watches it πŸ˜†

Working on that scissors-kick?

For soap to break like you described, its chemical composition would have to be altered significantly. Maybe the friction from your legs during your "puppy dreams" dried it out? No, not likely.

It is possible you knocked it out of the bed, but natural conditions and normal behavior could not alter the soap, unless your linen is made of some super-absorbent diaper-like materials... I think we have a few years before you need those.

It could be paranormal...'cause it certainly isn't normal.

Lou - when the bar of soap started out, it was in the center of the bed, which is where this one also currently is, near my knees.

Which is what my problem is about the original bar. Half of it still in the middle of the bed, the other half in the floor.
