generalchaos: Living in Las Vegas, I can assure you that there are cameras watching the guards watching the cameras...Can't escape them 😆...I wonder how often that happens here, like at reputedly haunted hotels like the Luxor, Balley's or the Tropicana?...

We went to a taping of "Let's Make A Deal" when they were here at the Trop... We had to leave all of our things with security, including my hubby's and son's wallets...Well, my son misplaced his wallet and we went frantically searching where we thought we'd been (but weren't lol)...We ended up in the employees' "tunnel"...It's supposed to be haunted by Bugsy himself...Well, I didn't know that at the time, but as soon as we entered it, I felt really weird and we didn't go far before turning around 😆...

Cool story, thanks for posting!

Its a pity the tape was destroyed, it would have been good to see the tape. Something bad could have happened to the little girl. The experience would have been scary to be told that you are standing next to a ghost but you can't see it for yourself.

[at] geetha,
Oh don't I know it! Add to that the fact that more money is lost than won by customers and it pretty much seals the deal for me.

generalchaos,
I love this! From one ex-casino cashier to another...t
There just aren't enough 'WetNaps' on earth to keep a cashiers hands clean! Is money the most germ ridden, filthy, disgusting, and I hate to mention this (but I must), sweatiest stuff you've ever had to handle? YUCK! I hated it when people would run out of the cash they had allotted for themselves to spend and start dipping into their "stash" they had tucked away somewhere on their person. Then they'd hand you what they just pulled out of their sweaty shoe or brassiere, like it was no big deal! BLECHHH!
Sorry for going off track there...
Anyway, you just have to know these old gold mining towns are prime haunting grounds. The violence that had occurred there during the old gold rush days makes it nearly impossible to escape. Plus, the Rocky Mountains are just freakin' spooky. Anyone who's ever driven through them can tell you that. There's a loneliness about them that just hangs in the air. It brings to mind the description of the Misty Mountains from The Hobbit.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the experience the security guard described to you was true. Sad that it was a child spirit though. It obviously affected him.
I know it gives me the creeps.
I am also not surprised that the tape was taped over. These days it would draw business if you were rumored to be haunted. Not so just a few years ago.
Thanks for sharing!

Jav 😊

You probably figured this out but I think the haunts might be connected to the land and not the casinos. But it is still freaky to be standing beside a ghost not being able to see it. I would have loved to see that type but in the prospect of a business, I know where your former bosses are coming from. But that doesn't mean that I would delete such once in a life evidence.

Personally, I would have tried to get some evidence myself.

Someone always destroys the tape. 😢 Excellent story though. I have talked to a few security guards and they usually seem to see the most action when it comes to paranormal stuff. I would have had a fit if I were in the monitor room watching those cameras.
