It's obvious that you're very angry Cristine. Please reconsider the hostility in your posts.

What I have said below is based on knowledge derived from mythological books whereas the reality is that God is only one entity and he is the same for all human beings no matter whichever religion they belong to. There is no such thing as 2 or 3 or 100 Gods.

Yamraj is the God of Death and not the Devil. However the Devil was also a part of God's staff before he turned against God and God punished him throwing him into hell.

"Owning" a pair of Jinns? Slavery ergo.

Slavery of any sentient individual counts as evil in my book.

Dont think that I am after immortality or something... I just want to possess the power to help someone who needs it, just as my ancestors did...

I just wanted to give an impression to my foreign readers who don't know yamraj... You can't compare his vision to lord ganesha... He is the lord of death and the word devil suited my needs

Lord Yamaraj is the the brother of Saturn (Sri Sanaiscarya). Yamaraj is not only the Lord of Dharma, but also the Lord of Death. He is often referred to in Sastra as the officer you will meet after dieing, who will judge your life and grant your next placement.

Yamaraj "Yama" is considered the first human, the first to die, and therefore the lord and judge of the dead.

In the Vedas, Yamaraj (Yama) is said to be the first mortal who died and went to heaven, becoming its monarch. There is also a fake belief that yamaraj is the ruler of the hell.

However, in the Vedic times, the conception of hell had not fully developed. Yama is the god of death and holds charge of the several hells mentioned in the Puranas.

He is regent of the South, or Lower World. Yamaraj dewells in the infernal city of Yamapur or Yamalog, the place of departed souls.

Nothing to do with Satan!

Hey,

Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yama_ (Hinduism)

I have never read or hear anyone call Yama and Satan the same entities so far. If you feel it's the same, maybe you can enlighten us with few reference points. I would like to get this clarified. I am not pointing fingers but just asking for explanation.

Nice story man but if its real then don't do all these stuffs. You already got the power of believe in side you. You don't need any other powers or something which could give side effect to your life. So don't do this and be safe. Take care

You may call yamraj a god but as I said, you can't worship him its way too tough
And the catholics believe satan to be notorious and we don't with yamraj, but they are the same entity.

avikhaunted,

Goo story. I will have to agree with another poster that YamRaj is not the Devil, however he sure is considered a God (death) in Hinduism.

You know Wikipedia is built with many people's contribution, so you can send them a note and correct them if they have indeed stated that YamRaj is the Devil.

nishanthk13...we believe yamraj to be devil or satan in christian... I have consulted wikipedia of course before using the word:)
Sie...our family have practiced the arts for generations and not practicing it would mean dishonouring the family name... I guess I can't stay away even if I wanted to:)
And as far as I know, spirits cannot give such immense aura as my father described... Though I personally did not experience it, may be because I was too engrossed in the ceremony, so how come it can be my grandfather... I am not a person who would faint at the slightest happenings... I have had many paranormal encounters which I will share in the future... This one was indeed strange

dmcal: Please read the "Comments Guidelines" at the bottom of the page, and this paragragh in particular:

"This site offers discussions on the topic of ghost experiences, with people coming from various cultures, so please avoid proselytizing or preaching, unless the author of a story specifically asks to receive feedback from that religious perspective. This site is not about religious beliefs, it is about actual personal paranormal experiences and exploring reality with an open and investigative mind so we can actually learn more about the paranormal, with the same empirical mind set that made science so successful in other fields. Religions have a lot of wisdom to offer in terms of personal spirituality, but they can also limit our knowledge of the world with old superstitions and unproven dogmas. It's fine to share what your religion has to offer as a possible explanation, but everyone has their own, they certainly don't come here to be converted, so please, don't push it on others as irrefutable fact."

The longer you're on this site, you'll understand how many different religious backgrounds (if any) our posters represent... You don't have to agree with them, nor do you need to convert anyone who doesn't follow your beliefs...

Yamaraj is not the devil. Yamaraj is the eldest son of Surya (Sun God) and brother of Shani. Shani gives us the results of one's deeds through one's life through appropriate punishments and rewards; Yama grants the results of one's deeds after death i.e., either allowing the spirit to rise to heaven or cast down into hell.

Sorry, Wiccan. Seems I can't even check my own work any more for spelling errors. Terribly sorry.

dmcal; Not to be rude, but yes there is a differenc. I am a Pagan and Waccan and I practic in both Candle and Earth magicks to give me strength and ease my touble mind, taking energy from both Flame and Earth. These are lesser magicks and are the extent of my usual practices until time to clense my home. Black Magicks, unlike the small White Magicks I perform, are meant to harm.
Besides, it's rude to even insinuate that another's culture and beleafs are wrong. You may be Christian, but many are not. And just because you say we should do something doesn't mean we're going to walk down the path that is wrong for us.

Now then, I do not beleave it was any form of Demon or Devil that interupted you. Had it been, it would have likely waited until you were finnish and at that point eather killed you, or attached itself to you. The later would eventually end in your demise of some sort. I could easily beleave it to be your grandfather if he met his end with the creature he was trying to conjur. Do try to stay away from the Dark Magicks, friend. Best regards.

Correction: The information regarding the slave girl who was possessed can be found in ACTS 16:16-18). Although, the information in ACTS 19:19 regarding demonic beings reveals some good information as well.
