Taz, I wish we had cameras in our workplace because I swear we have a ghost. The building is about 50 years old, built adjacent to the site of a house fire which killed a woman, about 15 years earlier. I hate being there after dark, especially because my office is in the back. Last week I was sitting out at a desk in the main reception area, working on a special project, when I heard paper being crumpled in another room. No one was in the building at the time. We set traps for mice but nothing. It's not the first time I've heard odd noises. I sometimes hear typing coming from the front office, and we have no typewriters. Anyway, I wish I knew what was going on...

[at] rookgin sadly no we don't have anything to do with the tree (wish we did it looks tacky) but as always some great ideas and always think your "gut feelings" could be right thanks for the comment 😊
[at] peter1589 thanks but I don't think I will, he does not "feel" trapped here.
[at] palme780 thanks for the comment he is welcome here anytime and I look forward to his visits.
[at] miracles51031 thank you for the forgivness lol glad you enjoyed it and I hope the same as long as he is here.

[at] moravian will be honest he did scare the crap out of me the first time but happy to say I am happy to see him now.

[at] argette how interesting, and no need to ask for forgivness, if you don't think you have enough for a post then I'm happy you decided to add your experience on one of my posts.
[at] krystallia glad you enjoyed it that's all I hope for when I add a post.

I like the former chef theory, as my father was a chef. There is something I like about this entity, something I feel is benign, but perhaps temperamental as chefs can be.

After my father died, I went to a place he had worked as a young man, and I felt a presence. I thought it was his, but I later found out this establishment does have a ghost. I have not felt the ghost in its alleged turf, but I did feel something in a certain area, and later learned someone had captured something on film in this area. I have seen the photo and it is the best image I've ever seen of a purported ghost.

All this is totally irrelevant to Carl's story; please forgive me for that. I don't have enough for a story here, so I can only share what I have experienced when it seems appropriate.

Geez. I hate to be a pain in the butt, but there's a difference between jam and jelly LOL... Jelly is made strctly from the juice of the fruit and is like a spreadable jell-o; jam is made from the crushed fruit and is very similar to preserves... I prefer jam, because jell-o on a bagel just ain't right! 😆 ❤

Well written - enjoyed reading this. Btw, we also call jelly - jam here in my part of NY. We use both words. As for the ghost, huh... I've been a night watchman and I think that shadow man wouldve scared the crap out of me. I wouldn't trust it.

Lol, I like Lou's suggestion. Maybe they're not making his traditional favorites in the kitchen anymore? ❤

Taz, this is wonderful! I enjoyed reading every bit of this and am very glad you chose to hang onto this one for as long as you did.

Perhaps he was a cook and every year around this time he baked some holiday goodies? And since it is a rather busy time of year, maybe he had to stay late to keep vigil over the busy kitchen?

I'm glad that he found a companion in you. A belated Merry Christmas to you both! Happy New Year too! ❤

Carl,
I believe the ghost is that of a former chef... Trashing the kitchen after seeing his favorite dishes are no longer on the menu. He's taken a liking to you, either because he knows you see him, or just because you are available to him at the hours he chooses to be present... Either way, he definitely does seem to appreciate your authority after you spoke to him.

Good read,
Lou

taz - you are completely forgiven for keeping this one from us. I think it needed to be as up-to-date as possible anyway, and you did that by holding onto it the way you did.

I truly enjoyed it, taz, and whatever the reason "he" lingers, I hope you two are able to enjoy more holidays together until he moves on. ❤

Atleast the ghost isn't harming anyone. It looks like it just want you to know that it's there for Christmas. 😆

Dear Carl:

I would humbly suggest to you that you take along some holy water and sprinkle it on him and state, I baptise you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. He is a soul in purgatory who needs prayers to reach Heaven.

Taz here is a thought for you... Has Security ever been in charge of seting up and taking down the tree during the Christmas season for this store you work for? If so this may be a former Guard that who passed away in 2009 and may have enjoyed the season and setting up the tree so much he returns year after year to see that it is done correctly. Or maybe it is a former manager who really enjoyed the season, either way... The mess was simply to draw attention to the fact he was around and you gave him that so he now 'drops in' on you in the 'booth'...Just my 'gut feeling' on what you may be experienceing. Thanks for sharing

Respectfully,

Rook

To Mr Christmas,

I don't know your name, but I sure am glad that Carl has let us in on your existence. And not knowing the situation that has you visiting each Christmas, I can only be hopefully optimistic about you and Carl 's yearly visits. You obviously see in him what so many of us do. And yes, he is absolutely worth it!
Please keep a good eye on him while you are there.

Wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Jav ❤ ❤ ❤

~~PS~ Don't startle him too badly, his screams can be ear piercing ~~

Cool story I really enjoyed reading it and I think it might want people to know it's there at first but then it might have faded over time to become a christmas time ghost or something.

Taz, this is so intriguing. Truly the ghost of Christmas past! A lost soul who misses holiday preparations and the fellowship and joking that came with it? Seems he is lonely.

By the time I finished reading this, I felt sorry for him and was happy he had you to hang out with. Hi there, Mister Ghost, if you are reading this!

Taz, you have a nice way of telling a story!

Taz: 😆 I giggled through this whole story!...There has to be a reason he only shows up at Christmas time... It does help to be a Loonie, doesn't it? 😆...Thank you so much for this... I really don't know how you kept it secret for so long...

Have you ever done any research at all?...Maybe if you let him know you want to take his picture, he'll oblige you?...Maybe ask him?...You're runnin' short on time now, but it's worth a shot!

Faves bound, my friend! ❤
