Did you try to access a private sound, but were not logged in?
Maybe the sound has been removed." 😒

I can't remember if it was automatic or not my dad said he thought he saw something at south eugene a light or something he doesn't know if it was a ghost I read people said that their names have been called and no one was there even my dad doesn't know if ghost exists or not how come a toilet would flush when no one is there it was not the stall I was using that flushed I had other stuff as I said before but I think most could be imagination

darkassassin - you have been told by your dad (and others in different comments) that it was automatic toilets, but you didn't believe your dad or them. You want to believe it was a ghost, so nothing anyone else tells you is going to change your mind 😐.

It has been brought to my attention that my original link to the EVP no longer works, so I uploaded it again for those of you who may want to hear it again. And for those who have never heard it before.

And a special thank you for letting me know the original link doesn't work 😊

Devious - clever did a reverse number look up and found out who the number is registered to. It didn't mean anything to me or anyone else in the group. I even tried to check and see if the person was an employee at Mansfield but, of course, that was a dead-end πŸ˜†

Since Dalton wants to go on a tour, I'd really like to take him. If we do go, I'm going to try and remember to drive by the house (if I don't get lost πŸ˜†).

Daz, due to my internet upgrade at home (and lack of internet as a result), I missed your comment until just now. Sorry about that.

You know, I think some of us were wondering about that: what affect, if any, the fact that the majority of us were from YGS would have on our trip. I've also been wondering if, since granny and I were in the Kidney Punch Room together, and the bond that we share, if that had anything to do with the EVPs that were picked up. And to further test that theory, it would have been very interesting to see what would have happened if cosmogal, granny and I'd been in a room together and done an EVP session since we've been on this "joyride" for 2 1/2 years now. Ah well, hindsight and all thatπŸ˜†

Daz, you ever make it over here...we'll wait on you 😊

It does seem Miracles you were tuning in prior to your tour probably why you were feeling as emphatic as you was, I do believe the fact that this group was all from YGS may have played a role in some of the interactions and audio you guys picked up during the excursion... Noodle - I listened to the EVP again, a couple of times actually, and at 8:03 I do hear a faint "yeah." Granny and Julie had been talking, but the "yeah" seems to be a bit too delayed to have been one of them. Still, it may have been. We'll have to ask granny to make sure.

Still, good catch on your part. I never would have caught that. Thank you 😊

Noodle - I don't think we did catch the "Yes," but I'll go back and listen again, and I'm sure granny will also when she gets a free minute. We'll also make sure it wasn't one of the four of us in the room at the time. I'll let you know what I find out on my end.

Thank you for taking time to listen to the EVP. Even I admit it was rather long, but I feel it was worth it. And, yes, evidence does help support a story. Even among friends. It also gives everyone the opportunity to help find things we might have missed, as you did.

And from one of the Loonies on the trip, you are welcome 😊

Hi Miracles. Just out of curiousity, did you or anyone else here hear a big "Yes" right after you asked "Were you an inmate here?"? I wasn't expecting to hear it and it completely surprised me. It's around 8 minutes in.

I enjoyed your account. Thank you to you and the rest of the Loonies for taking the time to make and post these recordings. I, too, find it frustrating when people say they have this evidence or that but then provide nothing πŸ€”

I checked my facts...it's not the 'ear buds' that allow for it. Please follow the link (s) provided...

Spider - Ouija boards and seances were strictly forbidden, so I'm assuming automatic writing would have been also. Although I have to admit the thought of trying to communicate that way never crossed my mind and I'm pretty sure no one else in the group thought about it either.

In another setting, where there aren't restrictions like that, maybe that would be something to consider. I've done automatic writing a few times, but I'd still be hesitant to do it in an unfamiliar place and not knowing who I might be trying to communicate with.

Thank you for reading my part of our trip, Spider😊

Spider,

They are beginning to manufacture headsets (ear buds) that 'amplify' the sounds being 'captured' on digital voice recorders... This is supposed to allow for a 'better' chance of a 'real time' conversation to be held with a spirit that may be attempting to 'speak' whether it be residual in nature or an intelligent 'haunt'.

Miracles,

Love the journal format. Keep on Truckin...😁

Respectfully,

Rook

Thanks Miracles, great account.

I was just wondering, other than those retarded boards that people keep wanting to use, is there a safe way to try and communicate with spirits in real time.
Like so that you could have heard the "Cant you hear me" when you were actually there?
Pity you guys couldn't have had an auto-writer or someone like that with you hey? That would have been super, is there anyone on this site that does that?

clever - considering I was sitting near the entrance to the doorway to the room where you saw the shadow, I'd say that's definitely a possibility. We don't know how long he hung around after asking the question. He could have stayed the entire time we were there, trying to communicate. Or he could have left after asking the question. But, the fact that there is a male voice in other areas on the recording that we are unable to figure out what is being said? I'd bet he hung around πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I wonder who he was too. I do think he may have been the one that I saw walk into that room. The picture I took in there after that does have a rather large orb up in the corner of the room, which I found interesting. I didn't catch any others orbs when we were in the part of the building.

stephy - without headphones it is a lot harder to hear, that's for sure. And the speakers on my computer don't work, so I'm not able to hear what it would sound like without headphones πŸ˜†.

Yeah, the guy hit an emotional spot with me. I told Jerrica, even though it's highly likely this was an inmate, it still bothers me 😒. I've been running scenarios through my mind about him ever since hearing the EVP. Who was he? Does he do that with every group that comes through? Does anyone ever hear him at the time he's communicating? Is he who we heard, felt, saw in other places that night? Just so much stuff that I'll never know because we didn't hear him.

I realize there is nothing I can do about that and I have to just let it go. But it is a great EVP πŸ˜‰

spectae - we could sit here all day and do this, but I feel you, granny and I are wasting our time. We didn't set out to convince skeptics of anything. My entire family is like you: I could let them listen to this and they wouldn't hear anything. If, and that's a big IF, they did, they would tell me the same thing, "That could have been a cat outside." Okay, sure, it could have been a cat outside. And I wouldn't even waste my time explaining what floor we were on, how big the Reformatory is in MILES, nor would I explain how much I paid for that inexpensive little DVR I used. Nor the fact that, although it picks up sounds from the next room, when I use it in my home, I can barely hear my dogs outside my bedroom window. But, yeah, it could have been a cat outside.

I've learned not to try and prove anything to anyone who doesn't believe. And it's okay with me πŸ˜† I know what I believe and I know what I hear, see, feel, smell and taste.

The EVPs were put on here for our members who do believe, and our friends who weren't there with us. So they could hear what we heard on our DVRs. It's called sharing our experiences with our friends.

I could have just listed what granny and I heard on the DVR, but seriously? How many stories have been put on here and the o/p been asked if they could put the EVP on so others can listen. It's also evidence for people who don't know me and for those who do that wonder if I'm full of crapπŸ˜†

And I'm not going to go out and buy expensive equipment to prove anything to people who don't believe. I'm saving that money for the next trip πŸ˜†

The thing about the cat is, we were four floors up... I doubt seriously a tiny "meow" would have audible through closed windows...Yeah, you can hear the geese, but there was a ton of them and they were loud, noisy critters...

Jesus_soldier - the cat was the only thing I heard when I listened to it the first time and even I thought what is a cat doing in a prison? LOL But it was where the wardens lived, so it does explain why there would be a cat, doesn't it?

The little girl's voice and the guy asking, "Can't you hear me?" bother me more than anything. A little girl trapped in a Reformatory, whether residual or an intelligent haunting, is sad. And the guy trying to communicate with us, and us not being able to hear him at the time? Maybe if the circumstances had been different, if my back hadn't hurt to the point that I was holding onto things to get up and down. And those freaking geese! OMG! Anyway, if it had been a controlled environment, maybe one of us would have heard him.

When you get a chance to listen, let me know what you think. I'm interested.

Hi zzsgranny,

No expectations. Just when striving to identify non human bodied voices, the better the quality of that presentation, the stronger the potential findings.

When presenting what may seem non bodied voices, then the clearer that is, the better.

Speaking for myself, I don't ask anyone here to prove anything to me, and the findings for what they are worth, are of interest as they stand. That said, when conclusions are draw about matters, be they sounds or images, the clearer and more obvious such are, the better.

Picking up a cat meowing could be a cat in the distance, who knows. Random sounds that seem to form a sentence are again, of interest but little more.

I think it would be interesting to place an onus on the "spirits" to communicate something "other worldly" in knowledge that can be verified. Otherwise, at best, they are just messing.

It's difficult to be rational and objective with just text, without sounding unappreciative or non-interested. I do think these things are all very real, but that said, I would question things just as much if I were the one recording such.

I don't record such for fear of actually picking something up... So you are already doing heaps more than I would ever consider doing myself! I have enough with my non-interested perspective, without seeking this stuff out... In any case, we will soon enough one day perhaps be on the other end... Though I'd have to practice my chain rattling and tap on the shoulder to make a "good" impression!;)

A friend of mine is all into this ghost hunting thingy... For me, I feel surrounded by em so like a person in a crowded room, I don't want for company.

I hope you guys do many more of these adventures, for you'll only get better at it and who knows, something unknown will be made known!

spectae: After reading the rest of your comment (sorry, I wanted to express my feelings on that particular voice 😊) I get the feeling you expected some more scientific evidence?...We're not scientists, physicists, audio engineers etc, nor do we consider ourselves "paranormal investigators"...Speaking for myself, I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone... I submitted my story for the enjoyment of others, and to share my experiences...So, yeah, if you want the empirical scientific approach, I guess you came to the wrong place, since most of what you'll get from this site is anectodal evidence...

spectae - this was a group of friends who met here, on YGS, getting together for the first time. Since YGS is a ghost stores site, we chose a haunted location to meet. Yes, we did EVP sessions, took pictures, did the whole amateur "ghost hunting" thing.

Were we looking at it from a scientific point of view? No. We were trying to see if we could capture some proof that Mansfield Reformatory is haunted? Absolutely πŸ˜† I think we did a great job.

spectae: One of the things I feel about this is place is that there is a lot of residual energy... That being said, I was thinking about why a woman would be saying those words... This was a prison... Not many women around, if you get my drift... I haven't done a lot of research on the Deputy Wardens, or the guards, but I don't think it's a very far stretch to think there could have been some hanky-panky goin' on in the kidney punch room πŸ˜† at some point...

Hi Miracles51031,

Thanks for the huge effort with marking what you think are non bodied human voices.

A lot there. I do hear something that might be interpreted as "Happy just to please you."

I have quality headphones and computer, with the sound near to max.

Granted there appears to be something like "Happy just to please you." The question becomes one of relevance.

If this sound is speech, attributed to a spirit, then what is the meaning? Is it part of a conversation, and we only get that sentence? The question as to what this is and means remains open, and without some anchor to a context, this is at best "random". Therefore no significance beyond that it wasn't an obvious person in the room.

If what is perceived to be "Happy just to please you." is accurate, then such sounds in servitude. Not something someone would casually say.

Perhaps with high quality audio recording equipment, and a single person speaking from a worked out script of questions, this could be developed... I would think this would benefit from an empirical approach.

Is this a fun time out, an adventure or something beyond casual and with a leaning to the scientific? At present it appears to be the former.

I would like to ask some questions that would not be readily know... Eg, tell me something I/we don't know and can verify.

Without something that affects us, it is all much like radio static... Ok it exists, but it doesn't impact my life per se.

Thanks again for sharing and I hope this doesn't appear critical as it is not meant as such, merely trying to be precise with what may or may not be there.

I have no doubt such things exist, and have experienced enough in my life, but short of being given the lotto numbers or some other significant information, all this is merely a curiosity thing.

I guess if you are having a fun time, and socializing with all of this, then that is the most important outcome.
