When you saw the boxes were there, do you think, had everything been 'normal' when you used the restroom, if the boxes would have been visible... Oh wait NO DOOR, man WOW!

Okay gotta throw this question out to anyone who may know. In cases of residuals are things like doors, furnishings and such manifested as well as individuals?!

I'm wondering if maybe you experienced a time slip that day. Like a window into another time frame perhaps. If so, shame it was a glimpse at the utterly mundane lol.

C2C, thank you, this is one of the more amusing experiences that I've had, although the thought of that kitchen still gives me goosebumps.
Mack, thank you for your comments. I've always been a bit reluctant to share my stories as I have had people think I imagined or made them up. This site seems a safe place to share and not be thought of as delusional. I've had many experiences over my lifetime but this one was one that has always stood out in my mind as one of my most memorable and funny ones. The old schoolhouse where this happened has not been in use as a school in my lifetime (I'm 56). For many years it sat abandoned until these ladies moved into it and opened the restaurant. The area it sits in is off the beaten path between my hometown and the next town over. It would be interesting to see what was on that property before the schoolhouse was there. Wonder if the schoolhouse was possibly a converted farmhouse? From the outside, it looks like it possibly could have been a farmhouse at some point. Still odd that a residual haunting would be of a ghost using the restroom. I've visited since this episode and I always make it a point to visit that restroom when I do, but I've not seen or heard anything else. The kitchen still creeps me out and I won't walk through it!

Hi Ceekat - thanks for sharing! You write very well and that certainly is a vivid recount. I loved the part about interrupting the ghost having a wee!

Sounds like a residual haunting to me, whereby an event is somehow "burned" onto the ether and is replayed to certain individuals under certain circumstances. I'm sure other posters have other theories as well.

People have theorized that often these events are recorded there because the intense emotional trauma (such as battle scenes, murders etc).

It's amusing (to me) that such an everyday, mundane event as going to the toilet would be recorded, unless it was a spirit who wasn't aware of her passing and continued to use the toilet. But that wouldn't explain the noise of the flushing and the water.
