From reading your original story and follow-up post, I get the feeling that you view the role that mental health facilities play (or played) is that of a torture prison. That insane asylums were places where people were sent off to be tortured to death by the "doctors" that worked there.

Electric chairs are used to execute people, not torture them (at least at the institutional level).

I walked away from reading your story thinking you were in an abandoned death camp that used to be run by torturers, not a Minnesota mental health facility from the 1900's. I am from Minnesota too, and I doubt if this MN mental facility had a dedicated torture staff when it was operational.

Maybe it is the way your story was written, but it made no sense to me.

when you talk about how I knew a guy died there in the room there was an old newspaper that had said that this guy was no longer alive. It was in the newspaper that's how I know yes this story is weird and might not make sense when I saw the childs room it did have pictures on the wall and the instruments I can't describe and the figure can't describe that and I didn't see anything or anyone next to my friend before he dissapeared!

you all don't have to believe me that you guys think it's fake I was about 14 when I expeirenced a little on the edge with the story bare with me on it the child was like maybe 10 years old but I can't explain the figure and my friend dissapearing it didn't make sense to me either I don't talk to him anymore and the old newspaper found on the ground was one of the people that was there bein tortured can't remember the instrument used there I meant to post as the sane asylum was in a rush to write it but it's all true but anyways its very hard to explain. The guy that was there was in there for murdering his family that's all I remember so ask questions

This reminds me of several low-budget horror movies that I love. Still, your story's filled with major plot-holes and the like.

On paragraph 4: how could you tell a certain guy had died in that room?

By "newspaper", do you mean a public news journal? The dead guy's name and room number would've had to be listed in the newspaper.
But why would the newspaper identify him to the public by room number?
To verify the room as his to anyone not familiar with his case beforehand, wouldn't the room number have to be visible somewhere in the room or on the room door as well as in the newspaper?
If that were so, wouldn't that info be a vital detail to include in this story?

I agree with Surya, needs to be more detailed to be beiliveable. But it's still a nice little 'horror' story to tell people in the pure dark! How old did the child look, how did the child's appearance seem? And where is this asylum specifically located? I'd like to try to search it up. Did it ever have a known name? Sorry for being sooo full of questions, but I'd like to know. How old were you all anyways? The disappearing while also being attacked while... Reappearing is kind of odd though. Do you stil stay in contact with your friend who got 'attacked'? Try asking him now if you havn't.

You found an old instrument that was used for the insane. What instruments were used for the insane? Why would finding a newspaper prove that a man had died in that specific room? You say your friend got attacked and disappeared, what was he attacked by and where did he go? You find another room with beds, it is a children's room, did you come to this judgment from the size of the beds or were there pictures on the wall? You say you saw a child who was tortured, what indicated that the child had been tortured? The all of a sudden you friends appears out of nowhere and he can't remember where he disappeared to. You walked through the tunnel and you had a strange figure following you. Description of figure, the shape size. 😕
