Since you said it looked like cat scratches I'm still wondering if it could have been the cat. Even though Jerrica wouldn't let the cat in the room but maybe the cat snuck into the room while Jerrica was asleep. Maybe Jerrica was a sound sleeper and didn't wake up too easily. Maybe the cat was able to slip his paw under Jerrica's nightclothes and scratch her. You said the cat irritated her. Maybe the cat was also irritated (I'm not saying Jerrica did any thing wrong to the cat but for some reason they didn't get along). Did your daughter sleep with the door open or closed? Was the cat able to get in the room while Jerrica was asleep? Since this kept happening where ever you moved. When the scratching stoped did you still have the cat? Or maybe Jerrica was now sleeping with the door closed? Just a thought. I'm not saying this definitely happened. Just my debunking nature I guess.

p.s. You should get your daughter a red ruby neckless I know it sounds weird but it works from what I have herd.

I also constantly have cat like scratches that scab over (Sometimes the entire 4-5cm scratch is completely scabbed over) and remain for 2-3 weeks but mine can appear during the middle of the day even though I haven't even touched the area they appear in, rarely they itch eventually leading into a burning sensation but most of the time I don't even feel them at all and I know for a fact that I can't be causing them through scratching myself because it may sound stupid but I've dug my nails in and scratched as hard as I could and I never even get the slightest mark.

Strangely enough yesterday I was annoyed at this and asked this thing to scratch me just on the top side of my elbow to actually see if it would happen and to prove that it's paranormal, I looked in the area and didn't see anything at the time but a few hours later I looked back and it wasn't on top but it was on the inside of my elbow area, 2 small and a longer fresh looking scratch (Someone here related this to demons but this is the only time I've had 3 scratches, 95% of them are 1 long one) which must have happened within at least the last few hours, spaced out quite far from each other and those have scabbed over now too, they didn't hurt though but I might just have missed them when I looked earlier on because I don't remember looking there and it's hard to see that area from the place I was looking at, after that though I also told it to scratch my other arm which I checked completely this time but that didn't happen, no scratches elsewhere on my body from that either.

Oddly enough I very rarely experience the paranormal and neither does my family, I can recall 7-8 unexplained occurences in 14 years of living in this house.

Blue_raven80 - wow. That's terrible that your scratches are that permanent. My daughter's faded within time. My sympathies.

I've had a quite similar experience with your daughter. Mine was in the left arm and until now the marks are there. It can only be concealed by me wearing a watch or wearing a long sleeve blouse in the office or a jacket. Just sharing my story. God Bless.

Thanks, DeviousAngel. For all you of who have read that I keep a journal, since I've been posting our stories, I've also been keeping the comments from everyone; that way, if any of these situations happen to occur again, I can easily read everyone's suggestions and experience-related advice.
I never thought about video taping because...well, honestly, I didn't have a video camera! 😆 But that is great advice.

I would recommend to anyone who is experiencing this to video record themselves while they are sleeping to rule out any outside causes. It will be very difficult to rationalize away scratches that have no physical cause.

If one is experiencing these, it might also be a good idea to have them checked out by a doctor to see if there is any medical cause for them. There are some types of rashes that can itch, bleed, and appear to be scratches. If those are ruled out by a physician than it is definitely paranormal.

Sea salt, pure water, fresh soil, and herbs all help these situations and repel evil and demonic spirits. Prayer, if you are religious, I have heard also helps, and whether it's because of the deity or the psychological effects I can't say but either way, as long as it works, right on. 😊 I'm glad Jerrica isn't having to deal with this anymore.

You poor thing. I don't think Jerrica would have been able to handle it had it lasted any longer. I know I'd have been on the verge of freaking out. When these scratches were happening, I wasn't aware of this site and I had just been introduced to another site dedicated to "ghost stories" before we moved and the scratches stopped.

I have awaken from a nap with scratches on my back just as you have described. I was about 7 mo prego at the time. I did not feel a thing either until I woke up and moved around. I was at my mothers house napping on her couch at the time. Yeah the ol burning sensation, kind of stings and my sister said the same thing "looks like animal scratched you" well we are not blind to the third eye. My sister told me that I was being attacked. They prayed over me and burned sage in my moms house. For a long time I did not have an episode until I moved out. Whatever it is does travel and it will follow you. I live 300 miles away from where it began and it has followed me everywhere I go. Now it has recently started to attack me in my sleep. I just keep praying and Ihave to do another house cleansing because if I don't it will only get worse.

Hope4ever - yikes! That thought never even crossed my mind! I really didn't place a whole lot of importance on the number of scratches. I was more concerned with the fact that they happened and we couldn't figure out how she was getting them.
I'm relieved, as well, that they didn't continue. I did check with Jerrica before submitting her story, just to make sure she hadn't experienced any scratches lately and just hadn't said anything to me about it (although I couldn't imagine her not telling me).

Usually 3 scratches are the mocking of the trinity, usually done by demonic haunters. It is a good thing that it hasn't happened since, and you could have easily picked it up in the tralior and it decided to follow you. But for whatever reason it left, I am glad!
