Picture. If the PICTURE isn't attached to the story...
Where's my coffee assistant?

If the story isn't attached to the story when originally submitted, we can't attach it later. What you can do is upload it to a photo sharing site, photobucket works well, and put the link to the picture in a comment.

I have the picture. I have tried to post it a couple of times but it has not come through. I don't know if the sight has the function to post pics?

Any advice?

Wow, great story and very well written. This reminds me it's not the unknown we should fear it's people that create bad karma and negative energy that should be feared.

Thanks for sharing:)

Holy cow, this is one of the best stories I've read on this site, and I do believe it100% true. I don't consider much of a "ghost" story but it's definitely pretty scary and it belongs on site. No doubt. I mean this site is called "You GHOST Stories" but there are plenty of good stories on this site that are true scary and not ghost. But this is an amazing story. This hut must have been a religious maniac. >> (No offense to those of you who are religious, I do respect peoples religions, I'm not religious but I do believe most things in the bible.) <<. If you can't post your pictures because of what you explained in an early comment, I understand. But if your half way decent at drawing could you draw that narrow opening, the wooden door, the inside of the room, and maybe a quick drawing of the boiler room because am really intersted in this storie and I would be really interested in seeing what it looks like. Also is there any place on the internet I could find a newspaper article on this event like you described in the story, came out a few weeks after you reported it.?
- Thanks:D

FANTASTIC story! I felt as if I was there, and indeed very scary! There's nothing scarier than a psycho, not even the scariest, ugliest entity. What an experience that must have been for you. I could just picture every bit of it! Wonderfully told!

old_dude- GEEEZZZZ that's creepy. Glad I didn't miss this one! As you were describing the different rooms in the basement it seemed way out of place, until you found the "Sinner's Den". Could the other elaborate rooms have been used to lure unfortunate person to their deaths? And what the heck did he do to them? There have been movies made of this kind of craziness!
One would have to think that that kind of horror would leave impressions in the basement/dungeon. Great story, love your writing. Going to my favorites. Thanks

I have one of the pics I took. Other than that not much else. I didn't keep the clipiing, or if I did it is somewhere burried in boxes at my house, we are adding an addition and it is a mess. I have a name, address and I have the report and my managers discussions about the finding, but they are property of my work and I cannot share them. I wish I had thought about this website at the time. I would have gathered more proof. But I didn't. I have not heard anything since, nor have I specifically investigated or inquired. In my line of work it is best not to get too involved. Even submitting a report was putting my neck on the line.
The clipping would have had to have been from the Windsor Star... I think that is the only paper that circulates in Windsor.

And although having a dungeon in a house is not common, I have seen plenty of bizzar stuff on a daily bassis. I am alway entering a house (at least 2-3/wk) with guns, drugs, criminal content out in the open. I always thought Windor Ontario to be realativley safe... But I am astonished by the finding I come across, especially in bank claimed houses or abandoned houses.
As for my writing style I do not think it is storybook quality. I just write what my experiance was and try to relive it with as much detail as I can remember. I am blue collar though and though.

I had such a hard time reading this as anything but fiction because of how you write! That is not meant to be rude or offensive, just the imagery used was like reading a book (I think you could give Steven King a run for his money).

That is not something you expect to find on a normal day. I knew some families growing up that had bare "punishment" rooms that they would send their kids too, but nothing like that. It sounds like a BDSM/S&M dungeon (anyone reading, please don't google that if you are unsure what it is. I don't want to be responsible for a loss of innocence). That is the first thing that came to my head.

You say that he confessed and died.
Do you have any other information about the Doctor that you can throw our way? If it was in the paper, can you toss us a link or a name? That way you don't have to scan the clipping.

Old dude
A chilling story that I really enjoyed reading.
I know you felt a paranormal atmosphere down there. Maybe residual I don't know but how weird is it that the reality of certain peoples lives IS more scary and chilling than the unknown.
What the hell did that doctor get up to down there? 😢

Brilliantly written account Old Dude and welcome back!
What a horrific place. You have some nerve even going down there after the woman said what she did and the behaviour of the Doctor. I think you are right though and that you were meant to go down there and discover what you did. You had me on the edge of my seat there. I even abandoned my work to read the account!
Let's hope there is some sort of justice after death.

Absolutely fantastic story and great writing style old dude, in glad you made the police aware and hopefully some justice was served. To be honest I hope he rots in hell for his unforgivable crimes and he reminds me of jigsaw from saw with the life support machine. All the best to you

...I took 3 pictures 2 turned out. One of them was really dark, the other was good (because of the flash) I am looking for the picture. I sent it home, from my work phone. (so I have to find it because my work phone has been replaced and the pictures in it are gone.) I know work has a copy but I am hesitant to ask for it...
I need to give this a little more time for the topic to cool off.
THe paper clipping was small only about 3-4 inches long. I have to see if I can find it and let you know where it was from.
It did not lable the doctor in the heading it was somthing like abductor discovered after 40 yrs...
In the read it identified the man as a retired docotor... Surprisingly enough it did not make much news. I do not know any of the specifics of the crimes... Nor do I wish to. I do not think the police actually linked any victims to him... The article stated that they were looking into missing people from 40yrs ago.

Suprisingly I was not frightened or thereatened when I met him. Only after once his nurse (who I am not sure knew the details) refused to go downstairs. (I am sure that his older caretaker knew... Due to the way she treated me)

This happened last fall... End of october begining of november.
I will post the pic once I find it.

Old Dude, love the way you write and build up the suspense/horror. This story really gave me the creeps... Reminded me of this movie called The Human Centipede. I have not seen it, but read about it and it is about the horrible experiments done by a doctor. Similar stuff was apparently done during the Nazi time. Glad you escaped unhurt. I suspect the old caretaker/nurse was also a part of this cruel set-up.

Wow, that is even scarier than your asylum story, if that is possible. Well told, Old Dude!

Hey old dude, thank you for sharing this gripping account, I was seriously on the edge of my seat reading it (not sure if that is the reaction you wanted to elicit), just one question
What did the pictures turn out like?

You sure are a good writer, old_dude, your description of that Victorian house took me to the magnificent mansions on Niagara on the Lake... Such a beautiful place!

Could you be a little more specific about the news paper article? I spent some time on Google trying to find any info about this doctor (serial killer?) and came empty handed 😢. I understand that sometimes the Mounties do not make public sensitive information during a case still under investigation, but find it strange that there seems to be no mention of these abductions and, probably, murders.
And by finding nothing I do not mean lack of information, there is plenty to read about Paul Bernardo, Robert Pickton, the ongoing investigation on "The Highway of Tears" and many other cases, just nothing about this infamous doctor. 😕
I would think a case like this could not be kept a secret.

Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Hi old dude. You certainly kept your nerve no doubt about it.
There is always a different story behind the perfect look I always find.
Let's hope there is a special corner in hell for what this person did.other's knew and kept quiet. He was obviously frightened as he became closer to death himself by all the religious decor.
Guess several cold cases were solved.
You were lucky to leave youself.
Do you know who posted the newspaper article?
You were there for a reason. Thanks for a good read. Cheers J
