I loved the story: any story that makes me do research lol is the best! I was wondering about the tee shirt. Those were considered underwear, where white until the 1950's and were not stretchy enough to pull over knees. The 30's clothing is so different from the 1980's. I'm curious as RedPhx is, has anyone heard of an old ghost wearing modern clothing? I imagine they can wear anything they want lol if they are intelligent like this one appears to be and wants the interaction. I wonder how many she scared off being naked and in high heels?

Cool story! Thanks for sharing ❤ ❤

Haha, I know this is totally un-realated to this story, but I just have to say it real fast.

Tomorrow, I'm going to the historic city of Charleston for a two day trip. In the evening, my family has decided to go on a ghost tour at the Old Exchange Building.

It is going to be really creepy beacause they have pirate robots in the dungeon. Apparently, the chains down in the dungeon will swing on their own, and the pirate robots will go off.

Here is a link:http://www.bulldogtours.com/charleston-sc-ghost-tour.html

Wish me luck!:)

Have to say I think this is both inteligent and residual she has been doing the same thing for years but also changing to fit the people she meets.
And on the uhOh side my friend spike (mentioned in storys) when he was born his mum dot was 51.
Thanks for posting this one lilwoody,

Miracles,
I would not doubt that many urban legends started from actual accounts. I have never tried to experience seeing one of these spirits that have become folklore, but I am sure that many start out from folks who really believe what they relate. I've provoked a few spirits in my time, but they all deserved it...hee,hee.
To be honest, although I have heard stories from where I grew up, they were only related by one person and there was no mass sightings involved. But when they are told credibly, as this account has, I certainly can't discredit such a vivid account.

As far as the work thing... Me too, me too.

It could be possible that others would have seen this young woman. It would be interesting if someone could research the area to see if any fitting that description was murdered or reported as missing. It would be nice if a group from here could help her find her way home... Just saying...

Woody,

Can you publish your father's detailed account of his experience? It would make for great reading.

Lou - my workload is so heavy right now I shouldn't be doing this, but I don't want to do anything work-related today! I just want to read some more stories!

Lou - here's a question. Urban Legends have to start somewhere, don't they? I've often wondered this. Someone somewhere experiences something and they tell someone else. And so on and so on. And the Legend is born. So, how do we know which is the real residual or intelligent haunt and which is the Legend? Other than when the story is obviously fake 😆

woody,
Uhoh's make the world go around. I have two of my own and would not know what to do without them.
Aiafaith, it wasn't the age difference I was commenting on, just that woody's dad was a bit long in the tooth when he was born:)

Guyinsane,
1. I have been touched and their touch felt very solid. But I have never tried to touch a spirit.
2. Yes, although it is a repetitive action, the fact that the spirit interacted with the living would make it intelligent.
3. It is all about energy. I have not experienced an occurrence like the one in this story, but I can't rule it out.

lilwoody - okay, I gave in and read your story when I should be working 😉. This is exactly the kind of story we needed to see on here. I love these stories!

Don't know that I want to experience a haunting like this, but this is incredible.

So, for all of us who've questioned whether or not residual hauntings can also be intelligent hauntings, what's this one? Obviously she's repeating the same scenario, but her appearance is changing. She interacts, but with the same questions and comments. Intelligent or residual?

guyinsane2008 - I can answer the question, atleast to the best of my ability, about if ghosts can keep themselves visible for a long time.

Ghosts have to use energy to manifest and make themselves visible, so the length of visibilty is going to depend on the amount of energy they have.

They can also draw this energy from people or electronics, or when it rains, etc. There are numerous things they can draw upon for this energy.

Also, I'm not sure about being able to touch them, but from what I have heard if a ghost is to touch/pass through you, then its suppose to feel cold, give you goosebumps, hairs on your arms and back of the neck stand up, etc.

Not sure if I gave the answers you were lookin for but that's what I think are the right answers.

Peace
JustCurious

Deposited this one right into my fav's! 😁 This has been the most interesting and quite chilling story I have read in the last week or so. I am amazed at how the girl was able to manifest and communicate with you as long as she did. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. 😊

that is very interesting story. I do like the story quite a bit. For a ghost though I wonder why she would change her appearance. Most ghosts that I am aware of don't change the way they are dressed. But everything is very possible I assume. To be honest this does sound like an urban myth but I really do want to give it the benefit of the doubt because I really really like the story.

My husbands grandpa had two UhOhs. My husband who just turned thirty has two uncles who are younger than him. One is 21 the other is 16. It is pretty funny.

I want to believe your story as it sounds really cool but I just wondering how come a ghost will spend such a considerable amount of time being seen...

Just a few questions:

1. Where she sat - was there an indentation on the seat to indicate that a person was there?

2. Did you or your friend touch her or her dress at any point?

For the experts out there:
1. Are there instances where ghosts can be touched or are solid?

2. Would this fall into the category of intelligent haunting?

3. Do ghost keep themselves visible for a considerable length of time?

So if this is a residual that happens over and over again, how did it get clothes on and end up missing her shoes if 50 years ago she didn't have clothes but had her shoes?

Oh, and LouSlips, just wanted to add. My step-dad is 56. My mom is 39. So, it isn't strange at all. 😆 We recently adopted a baby too.

Hey, this story was so cool! I loved it! I've heard a story like this but, where I'm from. The same story line, except the girl just asks for a ride, then disappears. This is going on my favorites! Thanks for sharing!

lilwoody - I haven't read your story yet, will do that when I get home from work 😉, but your comment caught my attention.

I have one of those UhOh's and let me tell you, he's one of the best things that ever happened in my life ❤. I was 36 when he was born. So, UhOh's aren't bad things at all 😆. They're gifts from God, same as those babies that are planned.

Can't wait to read your story.

Yup, my father was 50 when I was born, mom was 38. I have a Half brother tha's only 6 years younger than my mother and a brother 18 years older than I. Guess I was sort of a UhOh but here I am.

woody,
Very detailed account... If you had not done such a good job with description and the conversation, I would probably write this off as an urban legend, or I guess a rural legend in this case. It is pretty obvious this girl met her demise there.
I'm a bit suspicious about one point though. Presuming you and your dad had this experience at roughly the same age, that means your dad was fifty years old when you were born? Possible, I guess.

What color are YOUR eyes?

Lou
