Tweed & Goggzy
I just said that to Goggzy because there are a lot of stories where he mentions he is in a Paranormal Group. Lets face it if I mentioned I am a psychic/Medium in EVERY STORY I comment on it would get old fast and either one of you would say something to me. Also it makes others comments seem less credible when he mentions he is in a Paranormal Group. I feel if he wants to make a comment or ask a question that's all he should do, just like the rest of us. If he has any other questions or if the O/P has questions that is what e-mail is for.

I don't mean to be rude, but it seems inviting the ghost to freely roam the apartment was a poor way to repay the hospitality you were shown. People have the right to feel at ease in their own home. Not everyone is comfortable with ghosts.

Aliendewd,
I'm dieing here...
Like Rook, I too wonder how the girl who you all were rooming with felt about having the ghost invited to stay and roam about? Was she consulted about this? As you know some folks are just scared of ghosts, period. Wouldn't matter if it was Casper the friendly himself, just the idea creeps them out. Did you stay in touch with the girl who let you stay? Do you know how things went for her and the spirit?
Lol Sorry, I know I sound like a questionnaire or something. It's just, I'm really happy for the ghosty. Maybe she was always being shut up in that room as punishment. Whether she'd done something wrong or not. Guess we'll never know her story. But, as someone who has known restrictions from certain areas of a house, I can imagine how she felt being invited in, and to come and go as she pleased. Yet, I do feel concern for the girl whose flat you were staying at. Please tell me it all has a happy ending...

At this point I am going to refer back to my comment...

While I do agree that speaking with this 'spirit' and attempting to make 'her' comfortable is an admirable thing a very LARGE POINT is being missed...

(quote from one of Aliendewd's comments...)

"the girl who's flat this was was terrified whenever the Ghost was mentioned, my two friends began speaking to the Ghost shortly after I had. It became a daily ritual, making "her" feel like part of the household, even passing pleasantries like "Good Morning" or "Goodnight" with "her"."

I still question what was done here, not becasue it wasn't 'nice' or 'good' but was it done with the home owners (rentors) permission considering she was 'TERRIFIED' whenever the 'ghost' was mentioned... Then the 3 individuals 'making the spirit relaxed and comfortable' depart the FLAT leaving the 'TERRIFIED' individual to deal with this 'spirit'.

I like the IDEA of what was done, KUDO's for that but what were the reprecusions of their actions?

Respectfully,

Rook

Ok I understand this now, I do realise it could be found where this place is but everyone on our team never even knew of the "murder that rocked Scotland" as they don't teach this or ever mention it, this is most likely because the killers name was never told to the public.

Aliendewd:

Really nice story. And I think you did the right thing. You made her feel more comfortable, thus helping her a lot and easing her pain.

Goggzy - we're not debating this. If we allow this address to be published, then we would have to explain to others why the address in their story was eliminated. This falls under that little clause "discretion of the mods/editors".

I do understand your point, this farm village has been classed as missing since 1850 it wasn't even known that the land was this village until the owners looked up old 1820 maps. These are no longer available as the only existing map is owned by these new owners.

Goggzy - that doesn't eliminate the possibility that one or more of our members would know this location if the address was given.

This isn't a exact address as the new Dundonald village is not the same as the original where the murder took place, the only way to find where this house is being built is by a dirt track. The old farm village called Dundonald became abondaned and eventually knocked down after the murder.

I never thought to ask what she was wearing I just assumed it was older style, really should have asked. It isn't being built in the current Dundonald in Ayrshire the current village under this name is about 20 miles north east of the original 1800s village.

Aliendewd, I just want to hug you!

So many encounters on here have people pushing, no holding down the panic button. As if experiencing a ghost is the worst thing in the world that can happen to someone! That's not to say I wouldn't have crapped myself to see a lady huddled up on the floor, because I soo would have! BUT, like you, I would have tried to understand her, feel what she was feeling, and hopefully comfort her in some way. I absolutely love how you and and all involved handled this. Like Rook, I would love to know if anything developed after you left.
I'm really looking forward to reading more from you. Thank you for sharing!

Goggzy, sharing an exact address is a big no no on here, even if someone supplies an address it would be deleted by the mods. Ask if you can email people about things like that.

Red, about the whole Goggzy investigator stuff, I was going to speak up about this kind of treatment of people with disabilities throughout history. But Goggzy nailed it better than anything I could have offered. I think this knowledge from his work is very appropriate here. Also the group he belongs to do it for love not money. He's not exactly here to attract customers.

Oh! Which reminds me, Aliendewd, I meant to ask could you see what the lady was wearing? If so was it old fashioned or modern?

I have one statement to make concerning this experience...

What happened to the 'owner' of the flat after you and your friends departed? From the way you have related this experience you took it upon yourself to invite this spirit to roam the house freely, 'allowed' it to get comfortable and not feel so 'scared' (as she quite possibly did in life) and then you 'left'...

Did the girl you were rooming with give you permission to do what you did?

Has she told you that the whole house is active now? If not can you ask her or does she even live there anymore? If not 'why'?

For those of us who can 'feel, see, hear' spirits we have a 'gift-ability-call it what you will' and if we can help others with it that is wonderful (but we do have a responsibility if we chose to 'use' it). It seems the girl you roomed with was 'slightly sensitive' at least enough so that the room made her uncomfortable and she chose not to sleep in it. You, Aliendewd, were able to feel and 'see' this spirit... More than that you communicated with it... And when you did you gave it an invitation... Was it a welcome invitation?

It sounds as if the 'spirit' felt comfortable around you... But what happened after you left?

Not bashing... Just wondering.

Respectfully,

Rook

There is a house being built in Dundonald in Ayrshire on the scene of the murder of James Young in 1848. The new owners who are building this has asked us to do some research as there is nothing on the land after 1848.

People should research there houses or at least the land there house is on as most of the new houses are built on top of old ones.

oh that's not good 😢... But yes I agree on the history especially in edinburgh but these days if someone is having paranormal things happen they don't think of checking the history of buildings straight away as there are a lot of new houses being built all over edinburgh and some peoples first reaction is that it can't be haunted its a new buliding but yeh edinburgh alone has a lot of spooky history

Most of the old parts of Scotland are, such long history that if you know any of it it adds to any feelings you have there has been 4 murders and a missing person about 300 metres from my back door.

I was just stating what used to happen this explains the fear the spirit had and why it was ok after they started talking to her.

That was a great story, but sad as well if your theory about the girl is true.

Aliendewd,
I believe the reason this girl was hunched is some parents step parents would put the children in spaces too small for them especially as they got older and they couldn't stand or lay down. Making them more deformed.
Also people who came over on ships the only way they would get vitamin c so they wouldn't get rickets was to eat limes because they stayed fresher longer. Hence the derogatory term for English people.Limey

Aliendewd,
I loved your story. A spirit that feels morose when the door is shut but is fine when the door was open. Great Story.

Will you PLEASE STOP narrating your adventures with your Paranormal Group? This site is for people to write about THEIR EXPERIENCES. Some people need help, some just want to converse and still others just read the comments but don't want YOUR or anyone elses experiences written in their time line. If you want to write your experiences please do so in a story form,

I don't know if you noticed or not but there are plenty of people who are psychics, mediums (or both),empaths, etc.on this site who have had their own experiences that can help. We even have a B.S. Blankie that we pull out if the thread gets ridiculous, if it gets too ridiculous Puff Byrum drives up a bus for us to get on to party.
I've been asked to join several paranormal groups but I have declined because some of them find ghosts wherever they go. I've also been asked to join psychic groups and declined them to because all they do is have psychic parties to get money and I refuse to ask people for money for what I can do.

What I should add is it was an old tennament block and if it means anything, top floor. I won't mention the Street name but it's close to a Church a Crossroads and a grave Yard.
Looking back to how the apparition approached me, she was hunched as though attempting to make herself smaller and moved in a shuffling manner. Now as Goggzy states, were she to be disabled either Physically or Mentally, this would make her movement toward me add up. She was certainly nervous as her hands were held to her mouth as if she may have been chewing her nails.
Biblio. This wasn't my first experience of Ghosts or Paranormal - i'll add more stories soon - but was one of my more recent experiences. I've found through time that many Hauntings are misunderstood, the girl who's flat this was was terrified whenever the Ghost was mentioned, my two friends began speaking to the Ghost shortly after I had. It became a daily ritual, making "her" feel like part of the household, even passing pleasantries like "Good Morning" or "Goodnight" with "her".

Bibliothecarius

The worst case I have researched was one in London where a kid had a facial dyformity and was locked up for 16 years she was only found because her parents sold the house with there daughter still inside the new owners found her kept her (even though there is no adoption records) we know she died at 40 and was buried by the man who found her, her obit had him down as adoptive father so we believe the records were either destroyed or misplaced as this was in the 1800s although we can't prove it either way.

Yeah there has been documented cases that any of the rich people who had kids in the uk, USA and almost the majority of Europe locked there daughters up when they were not needed to cook clean or do anything like this, also they didn't want to have the embaresment of people knowing they had disabled kids this includes autism etc.

I enjoyed reading your narrative, and I commend your calm presence of mind when deciding to converse with this distressed entity. I suspect no-one else had tried to allay her fears before.
"Well done, that man."

P.S.: Goggzy-
Are you sure about that? If so, it would go a long way to explaining Scottish history in general and Presbyterian guilt in particular...

Yeah I have seen a few times that street addresses are not aloud to stop trespassers etc. I did a investigation in leith a few years ago. These are so similar experiences and it was a young woman and. Man who had us in.

Hi I think my team has investigated here or near here as the experiences are more or less exactly the same as yours. I can't remember exactly but I think everyone came to the conclusion of this being a intelligent ghost scared of people being in her room. It was normal in Scotland years ago for girls and disabled kids to be locked up in rooms.
