ladyoflochnaw, After the dream that seemed to have some sort of interference, I had fully awaken and was aware that I was awake becuase had turned over to get more comfortable, with that being said I feel there was no way possible I was still in rem state because I was able to move and think clearly moments before I began to have unexplainable sensation through out my body followed by being held down, I would say paralyzed becuase I couldn't move but the wierd thing is I still had control of my muscles which isn't fully paralyzed it was like gravity it self had a much greater force than it normally is how is this explained? I know I was fully wake just before the struggle of the evil presence or what ever it was. Same thing happened to me. My husband get it all the time… and now I get it… I get so scared, I can’t go to bed without my husband there… and I also get very paranoid when sleeping by myself… my sister sent me a little pocket herb thingy that I hang around my bra strap and it has helped me a lot… I haven’t experience that heavy weight thing for a while now,…. But sometimes at night, I can actually feel something fiddling with my feet… grabbing a hold of my feet… and trying to take control of my body… I can feel the presence of something there on top of me… looking and waiting for me to fall asleep… I tried to convince myself that it is sleep paralysis… But now I am convinced… that it is not sleep paralysis because a few nights ago… while sleeping in bed I felt that strange presense right on my face and throughout my legs…. … my husband starting calling out my name… to wake him up… I gently shook him a little… and he woke up… we both knew what happened… and he said, he’ll tell me in the morning…

He said that he heard his mom’s voice calling for him… the voice, it came closer and closer and sounded more like the sound of a tv flashing, you know, when you switch to a channel that doesn’t work… well yeah… it sounded like that and whatever it was held my husband down to the bed… the freaky thing is… my sisternlaw experienced the same thing that very same night… except she heard someone say… “Gimme me some water!”

These last few weeks… my husband and I can both sense a presence leaning against us… we both can feel our body paralyze at the same time… I remember I read somewhere that those things were afraid of light… like really bright light… so for 2 nights now… I charge my cell phone on the top frame of my bed… I use it as an alarm to wake me up in the morning… so what I did was open the lcd of the screen and lay the cell phone in between my husband and I, where our pillows are… I haven’t sense anything dramactic and have been able to sleep through out the night.

Claire, The same thing happened to me last night except nobody was with me. It started in my dream like you said and it wasn't an unpleasnt dream either, but then I felt somthing was interfering in my dream what ever it was it wouldn't allow me to move it felt as if gravity around my body was 10 times the regular force that it normally is. After awakening from this dream I laid there for few seconds wondering if what I had just felt was actually an evil presence holding me down while I slept or if it was in fact just a dream, Just after pondering the expirience I began to feel an unexplainable sensatintion through out my body and then as I was awake I could not move some sort of force was taking place around my body I felt paralyzed but I still had control of my muscels, every muscel in my body was flexed to try and either sit up or get out of bed but I couln't, Iwas also trying my hardest to scream but all thet would come out was a faint wisper. After a few more minutes of fighting my hardest aginst this force it finally stopped, I don't know if it was an attemped for demon to try and posses me or what I usally don't believe this stuff but that was freaky. After this expirience I got online around 3 in the morning and found what Claire had posted it seemed identical to what had happened to me now I don't feel crazy.

Sounds like you were attacked by an Incubus.
This is an evil spirit that is after your sexual energy. Stories of these and the succubus (the female equivalent) abound, dating from Medieval times. A girl I know was attacked by an incubus once she related her story. That subject was touched on a few weeks ago in The Dresden Files, though they were a bit off the mark.
About 5 years ago I was the victim of an attack by a succubus. I didn't know what was happening at the time. One night I was lying face up on my bed, after just turning off the TV, about ready to go to sleep. I hadn't even turned the lights off yet. A great weight pressed upon me at the same time I was slugged in the right of my face, forcing my head left. I could not move my limbs or even my fingers, or move my head, or vocalize what-so-ever! I was like I was paralyzed. I was held strong and I could not even look to see what was happening. It scared the bejebees out of me and I started saying silent prayers to God for help. After a long time, the weight diminished so I could move. I looked at the clock and saw the time of this ordeal to be about 20 minutes. Weeks later, when I learned what happened, I realized it may have been related to my backing out of a business deal with a woman (who turned out to be a gypsy who practiced the Black Arts)! Seems she finally got what I was unwilling to give her. . .:(

I have these kind of dreams, they call it sleep paralysis and say that there is scientific explanations but I think that there is more to it, next time you have one of these dreams try not to struggle whilst the dream is occuring, see what happens, you will be amazed.

I found this page looking for an explanation to sumthin that happened to me last nite. I was in my bed and my boyfriend was lying next to me, I must have drifted off and the dream I was having wasn't unpleasant, but this overwhelming fear of another being came into my dream and started pushing and pulling me around in my dream, I could not see anything but felt its grip and the thought I had in my head of what it was, was something evil. I knew I was having a dream but I did not feel like the being was a part of my dream, but something interfering with my dream. I woke myself up and I could still feel being held down, I felt paralysed and couldn't move, I could see my boyfriend watching the television and I tried to shout on him but all I could do was faintly whisper. I was so terrfied as I was sure this was something evil. Finally I was able to shout on my boyfriend and I could see it startled him. I felt realeased from the grips of whatever it was and my boyfriend could see how scared I was, he looked scared at the horror of my own face. When I was released from the grips and was able to shout on my boyfriend I was lying in the same position as I had been when I felt this, that's what makes me feel like it was not a dream and I had thought I had awoken myself from the dream I had already been having. Anyway, once I had awoken my boyfriend was hugging me to comfort me, then I felt as though my arm was being poked, it scared me soo much, then I heard two growls from what sounded like an angry dog. My boyfriend did not hear this and swore to me he wasn't poking my arm. I do not know if what happened to me after this dream was hysteria from the overwhelming dream or whether it was in fact an evil being. I hope it was just a dream and hysteria as I barely slept the rest of the nite and I am terrified of going to sleep tonight. Could someone please explain to me what this was?

i was in kuwait, inside a warehouse sharing it with 50+ soldiers. I was on the bottom of a bunk bed. I don't know if I was sleeping or awake but it felt so real. Suddenly I couldn't move like I'm pinned down, and I could feel something cold like a breeze and I was getting goose bumps. I'm a pretty strong guy and I lift weights everyday but I couldn't move my arms and legs and I even tried to scream but nothing came out. I was struggling and fighting this thing for a good 30 sec, my sweat was cold. Finally, it was gone and I could move again. I thought to my self, what the f*ck was that? Was I dreaming, my eyes were open the whole time, I think. Even if I was dreaming, I woke up in the same exact position I were when I was struggling. I didn't sleep for a while after that thinking what it was. I thought of choking ghost stories back in hawaii but then I thought, no it couldn't have been cus this is desert. It was weird and ill never forget it.

It's very simple. Sometimes when a person is in REM sleep, the body tries to wake up. Because REM sleep is so deep and the body and the rest of the brain are alert there is a battle of sorts. You are aware something is happening, your trying to wake up and you can't fully do it. Finally, snap, all of your body is on the same page. I have had it happen many times.

i can tell you what it is ...its a sighn tellin you that you should get your soul saved ...because it happened to me last night ...a strang force attacts me and I can't move ...but with me its for like 10 minutes ...i try to yell and move but I can't ...i feel a dark presence ...sometimes shadows but I can't reall make out ...what it is ...it happent to me bout 10 times in my life ...im 20 now ...my preacher said I should get bapitized ...it happened som much now ...it really aint nothin ...but recently ...it scared the fu%$in piss outa me... When it happened last night ...it was stronger ...i turned the tv on at 3am... Thought it was safe ...turned it out ...BANG force is on my azz again ...n when I woke up from it ...my stupid fu$ [at] in cat was starin at me reallll f%$in weird ...so I through ot out the room ...n stayed up the rest of the night ...

I had a similar experience a few years ago at a hotel while sleeping in bed. I was laying on my stomach and in the middle of my sleep, or perhaps I was semi-awake, I tried to move or turn over. There was a feeling that something very heavy was pinning me down although I could not actually feel anything on top of me. But I definitely could not move at all. With much difficulty I was able to push up to my elbows, but I could not physically get up from the bed. I tried screaming and absolutely nothing would come out. I kept trying to scream until finally I was able to force some guttural noise out of my mouth after 5-6 determined tries. I also had the feeling that some large presence was hovering over me while I was pinned down. I don't know how long it lasted, but shortly after I got the strained scream out, at some point I was just able to get up. I moved to the bed away from the window and stayed up the rest of the night with the tv and lights on. Everyone I've mentioned this to (not many!) said I'm crazy or I was dreaming, but it was too real. I felt consciously awake during the incident. Possibly the hotel has a spirit haunting its guests. In any event, I haven't slept on my stomach since.

hi, I am 15 years old and something like this has happened to me. My grama has been gone like 4 years now and I think about her all the time. Well last night I was sleeping and I have a picture of her under my pillow well I fell asleep. My room was geting cold so I woke up to get more blankets and I looked and saw her and started to cry and she asked and asked what was wrong but I could not talk I was scared. She told me she was always there when I was sleeping and I never new it. She sat there next to me and lifted my blankes up and said don't fall for anything no matter what happens, never knew what she ment. But now I do, when I saw her cry I started to cry, she said sleep well sweetheart I am here when you need me and I will protect you, and she disapered but I see her all the time in school, at friends houses, she fallows me... Good feeling if you think about it. Her and I was good friends and she see's whats going to happen to me so she worns me.. I know one day she attacked a boy that I was dating becasue he hit me. I never saw him again in my life. I have been creeped out by this more then ones. Nowing shes dead but I see her, people think I am crazy but I am not lieing I now her to well and she makes me cry to know shes there to watch me and sometimes I had a gualty feeling.. I know if she thinks I am scared she wont come around she will just talk so I can hear and some times I cant talk back because she wont let me.( one thing I know for shure there don't show if your scared to see them only if they have been murdered then thats the bad one..

When I first started work1970 my Forman show us some photos of which his mum took and they found a that camera on top of her wardrobe so they got them developed
And he was telling me she was a spirits and in one of the photo was faded face of a youngish man with a small beard. He says it was the ghost of his mum taking the camera up to heaven and photographing Jesus or someone

The haunted milk round

Many many moons ago when I was a relief milkman1970 .I stared as usual 4 am. I was told to cover a milkman round as he was on sick/holiday.
I knew the area well but did not know the round or people. So it took a bit of time to complete on the first day.
Tues arrived again at the first call while I was looking at the book to see who want milk I glance up and saw a elderly man struggling with his cycle I wave and I said in a soft voice as it was very early in the morning hung on I help you in a moment (as it was number 3 on my next call). I went across the road 1 pint for the first house jump over the fence 1 pint for the 2nd house. Then walking up the small driveway I notice he gone. . I even thought he done well for getting in to his house cycle and all. I could do with his help on my rounds.
Thursday come and I had to collect payment from that street so I knock on that house and an elderly woman answer and ask me where the old milkman was. And I reply and told her then said your husband was out early or late. I could do with him on my round. She looks puzzled. So I said you know a man with a cap with cycle clip in the bottom of his trousers with a cycle. She still looks puzzled so joking I said ok I wouldn’t tell any one about your secret man. She said hung on and fetches a photo and shows it to me it was a photo of a man. That him I said. She reply that my husband. I said I hope so. She said he been dead for 6 years

That rocking chair 1960 I sent you the woman who it belong to was a friend of my parents and her husband gas himself in the open and every time we visit her afterward there was always a smell of gas and the gas man could not find a leak

On visit to 1960/70 2 historic houses one in Suffolk the other one in Cornwall talk to a elderly lady and the next room was a dead end so I had to come back the same way and no where can that elderly lady been seen. I even ask some one coming up thee stair if they seen any way going down. And they said no

Another was at a haunted church 1970 while me and some friends was up in the bell tower my southern friend was that piece of thick rope unwinding and winding itself up
We don’t know no eerie feeling though as often went ghost hunting and feel an eerie sensation

When I live in Blackburn 1980 I often hear foot steps up and down the stair I spent many night staying up and talking to him but did not see anything. But I keep getting theses thought his name was jack and wanted me to go in the loft after a few weeks I did as I was still getting theses thought. So I thought I put down a wooden floor to make it into another room. While I was making sure there was nothing hiding in the fibreglass I come across a photo and I gave it back to the people who sold me the house who photo was his father name jack

The best one is a place called Holland head hall 1980 which is a ruin just a few miles out side chorley it say on the notice board at least 6 white figures have been seen
I often went there by myself and watch the orbs, as you know twinkling colour lights and crouching figures. It always felt like cowboys and Indian circling around me
On a certain night my northner1980 friends was talking about ghost and I mention this place so off we all went and again we saw the orbs saw the couching figures then Steve said what that glow over by the well. I was surprised there was a ghost there was no feet on it and was hovering. I started to walk close there was no eyes nose mouth. Every time I got a step closer so did it
About 15. /20 feet I got a shivering down my back and really felt scare so I back off so did the white glow then I and my friend closely by my side run like mad where in. It returned where we saw it and it was like it was guarding this well (which the water is a medicine for eyes) nice and sweet to. Oh and there a lion/ figure of stone in the cave as well. Got a photo of this figure3 somewhere
Also heard horses hoof aboot11 pm at night there. I hear water but a few years ago I come across a stream.
Even max my late German Shepard used to growl when I took them their for a walk during the day time
Oh Steve said he heard a scream once and we done some research and there was a murder there many many ago and the murder try to burn her body.
Not been ghost hunting for a while must be my age as I like my bed to much about 10.30
But I often see people while driving in the evening but when I look back in the mirror they gone vanish. They must know a short cut I guess

You might have heard of chilling hall it Lancashire haunted place in 1990-I visit it but as I was knocking on the door a notice said closed. Which I’m sure that notice was not there when I arrive anyway I took some photos and when I got developer them there a figure standing by the top window if was a real person she could have shouted we closed

One evening I went down stair here and I got to the kitchen and hear music I even went into the loo and made my self a coffee. There was still music. I went upstairs told Andy which we both went downstairs he hear music to. (In between wall there a narrow opening like another room) the kitchen join her bedroom and we took all the pots and stuff out of the kitchen to shine a light as we both were hearing music and rustling sound. And thought something was playing music there as it was coming from there . But just then there was a moan what up she said pulling away her cover from her bed revealing all the crisp packets with headphone in her ears with a little touch. She now knows as sleeping beauty. I’m cinders and Andy snow white as he always got a white paint bush in his hand and know 7 friends hey ho hey ho it off to work we go

well...im afraid thats a "hag" thingy... and happened to me once... during my affiliation in Cebu City... it was past midnight we were sleeping in our dormitory... I was awakened by something it was like two black hands trying to pin me down on my deck... I wanted to scream for but I couldn't, like slow-mo and I tried to say the name "christ" but words came out so slowly... then my classmate (who has this 3rd eye) who slept below my deck, told me not to sleep there... and so I slept beside my bestfriend's deck after that experience... by the way, that dorm is owned by our school...and that's where one of the administrator's son died...

i would so leave if I were you. Or maybe find out some information about the past of that house. This sounds if it came from a horror movie. I stills gots the chills.

I have been living here for almost 18years and have never had anything like that happen to me before. But over the years I have heard things like someone else is in the house and at the end of my hall way a few years ago saw something like a shadow. I do not know any thing about the house. It was built over 50 years ago.

I think you should find more about the past of your house because you might have a dangruous enity living in your house. I sugest asking around

Maybe like you said, you were dreaming and your cat probably wanted to have a little privacy. I know how dreams feel and they could feel so so real sometimes.
