Okay, I was more than happy to let this die down so we could direct our attention to other stor-ies that may be asking for help. But apparently it isn't to be. Karen, when I repeat something you said, it will be in quotes so it's easier to identify. Copy/paste is a wonderful thing.

To begin, many of our members are aware I do apologize when I feel it is necessary. But I will not apologize if I don't feel I should.

I wasn't even going to bother sharing the inconsistencies I have found while reading your stor-y and the comments associated it. I figured our members who shared my hesitation would already have their reasons and those who don't, wouldn't care what I think. Just so you know, I did wonder if maybe I was letting my gut rule my head, which is why I reread everything from beginning to end. Again.

Before we go there, though, for the record, there are only 2 active mods. And in case you have trouble identifying us, we have (mod) beside our name. And just as a side note, I love when these same ole words show up: witch hunt, bullying, libel/slander/defamation of character. Never gets old. As for suing, I'm sure any attorney would be more than happy to take your money over your accusations of name calling. Yep, I'm sure the attorney would have nothing more pressing than that.

Now, I have to include this simply because it made me chuckle. "My Granda used to say "The people who mind don't matter. And the people who matter don't mind" I won't deny the possibility of your Granda saying this. I just think it's funny.

The next is in relation to your Granda's death. Normally I would stay away from something associated with a loved one's death but clarification is needed.

"My Granda, (my Mum's dad), passed away almost 3 years ago. All my other grandparents passed away when I was a child/teenager."

"My Granda passed away from Cancer almost 4 years ago."

"On Christmas Eve 3 years ago weeks after the passing of my Granda..." This comment was made in February, only 2 months after the anniversary of his death.

Concerning Maya and Justice's use of the Ouija board:
"My daughter had her best friend sleep over last night. I found out that about a year ago the two of them had been playing with a ouija board that my daughter's friend had bought from a toy store. It has never been in my house. Apparently they "talked" to someone... A teacher came in in the middle of their attempt and threw it in the garbage but they said it was working."

"...They said not once in any of the 3 sessions did they receive any contact from anything/anyone. That it 100% didn't work. My daughter's friend was the one asking all the questions except for Maya asking 3 questions on one occasion (what is your name, are you bad? Are you good?) "

This is one of your comments: "We live in a newly built house on the edge of a lake in the country. Construction was completed on the house in March 2014 and we moved in in May 2014. The property it was built on is a severed lot that was the gardens of the house beside us, about 4 large trees were cut down to build our house. We didn't build our house, we found it and bought it after it was completed so I'm almost positive there was no ceremony or honouring of the Earth before it was torn up to dig the foundation."

But in your original story, you said "She told me that she would never get better in that house because it had "bad energy", so we moved out and bought our own house, one that we had built for us, so new house, new energy and right by the water which is great energy for her."

Since you seem to have no hesitation of sharing things that occurred offsite, and you already brought up Maya's meds, in the picture of the prescription bottle dated 13 Mar 2016, the instructions say "Take 2 tablets at bedtime" and are 5mg, but in your email you state, "Maya takes 3 of the Abilify pills every night. 15 mg every night."

I have no doubt you will be able to offer explanations for all of these. As for not being hard to figure out who we are, if we were concerned, our names wouldn't be on our profiles, nor would our email addresses.

LOL! Now it changed "s.t.o.r.y" from clown to purple pants?, is this an "A.p.r.i.l's. F.o.o.l joke?

I really feel your concern and I don't doubt your story for a minute, I don't know if meds are the answer but I can understand your need to do something to help your daughter, I read you don't belong to any particular religion or church, may I suggest you find one?, a lot of people think that there is no need to go to church every Sunday (me included) but definitely there is power in congregation- I would look for a spiritual advisor to go along with the meds. If she was my child I would look for ALL and every option available.

Why it keeps changing the world "s.t.o.r.y" to clown?

As per the comments here - Yes, sometimes I wonder why people judge some stories so harshly while other stories they embrace Whole heartily, I know you can take it, you are an adult, but I have seen young people posting their stories to be ridiculed and dismissed, I can't but think how would that affect that young mind been treated like that.

Karen, thank you for coming back and standing up for yourself, your daughters and your situation. The fact that it turned into this instead of help and support saddens me but please know that myself and others have had, and still do have, 100% faith in you and your experiences and I really hope that you keep the positive connections that you have made with some from this site and continue moving forward. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I think the only comments that should be coming from moderators now should be an apology after those attacks...

This is the time for you guys to "man up" admit you have made a mistake, jumped to conclusions and started an unfair witch hunt.

As far as the temps go, I pulled them from the Weather Underground web site... Got the whole month of March for what I thought was the area you lived in... Added them together and then divided by 31 to find the average temp for the month... Perhaps I used the wrong area of Canada... If I did...whoops...sorry...

I'm not sure what's going on with the interjection of the word "clown" some sort of April fool prank with a hacker somewhere?

I just wanted to add for those who had questioned the power outage stuff. I had called the GM Renaissance Centre. Obviously they got pretty suspicious when I started asking questions about their building but I did get to talk to one guy who told me they do routine power downs to conserve energy. It was just the worlds biggest coincidence I guess that they did it when my girls approached the window. I can't explain the hotel wifi stuff or the banging other than high occupancy for March break? Or maybe... Just maybe... It was paranormal?

I did solve the mystery of having power during the ice storm though. It turns out that my house and 2 other houses in our end of our housing area are on a totally different power grid than the other houses. That's why they had no power and we did. The owners of one of those houses weren't home for March break or I would've seen their lights on.

And Rook I'm not sure where you got your weather forecast and temps from? It was a lot colder here than you said. I can provide proof of that too.

But to tell you the truth I'm sick and tired of this. I have more important things to do now, like take care of 2 little girls, one of whom is really struggling right now and that takes my focus because I'm a good mother, not a bad one like many of you have tried to label me.

To those of you on this site, be careful here. Be careful where you put your trust. Be careful sharing your stories. This seems like a safe place full of friends and almost like a family. Yes there are some very nice people like Frangelica and aussiedaz but there are also some very dark and nasty and judgemental people too.

Hello. This is Karen.

I had deleted my profile on this website after I was first attacked. But a good friend that I have made on YGS brought it to my attention that the YGS community had "turned on me" and I came back on the site and read the comments and they have prompted me to create a profile for the doke purpose of setting things straight and clearing my name.

I heard of YGS for the very first time in my life when at my wits end with my 13 year old daughter, Maya claiming that there were shadow people in her bedroom, I googled "my daughter sees shadow people" one night. A story of a woman and her kid came up and it led me to YGS and I came to YGS hoping to find some answers. I had never heard of YGS before that. I have never even been on any websites LIKE YGS before. To accuse me of creating stories and fake profiles is absurd. I have NEVER done that. The email address I use to create my YGS profile is one I've had for a while. I don't know much about computers or ip addresses, if moderators are saying that my address is the same one used to create other stories on this website then they are lying. Plain and simple.

I emailed 3 of the moderators if this website with pictures of myself and my daughters. I had been talking to 2 of these moderators privately outside this website. They knew my name, and the names of my children, including our last name so I felt safe attaching a pic of my daughters med bottle for validation since they were accusing me of not being real.

Their reply was that the pictures of my girls were store bought pictures in store bought frames. That the psychiatric medication could be mine. The pictures and videos I attached of the robins in the trees outside my house (to validate for the people who said there was no way there could be robins in Ontario Canada in March) their reply was "there's no proof of date or location" so I RESENT them with the date AND location clearly displayed.

But that still wasn't enough. Instead I received a rude comment for sending a pic of my child's medication bottle.

I came to YGS as a mother worried SICK for the safety and sanity of my little girl and instead I have been absolutely attacked (their is no other word for it) by the vicious YGS community.

I have been called everything from "slimy" to a catfish to an unfit mother to a liar. The existence of my children has been questioned and several of you have called me mentally ill.

I will tell you all right now that my children are real and I am a wonderful mother. My children are EVERYTHING in the world to me and how DARE any of you question their existence or my treatment of them or my sanity.

This online treatment of me has headed into the region of online slander and libel and defamation of character. I have printed off all the comments. I have also written down the emails of those who have been slandering me and it has not been to hard to figure out who those people are in real life thanks to handy things like Facebook.

So unless you stop this online abuse of my daughters and I right now I will take legal action against this website and its moderators.

If I was a liar who was just in this to make up stupid stories I would have just faded off into life and you guys would've never heard of me again. I hope this proves that I am a furious and disgusted mother who can not believe that there are grow ups out there who pretend to be spiritually evolved individuals and act like this.

After reading all of the comments back & forth, I haven't been able to get this particular event out of my mind.

I believe in some cases, from the spirit realm, they tend to do things to confuse people, even make it seem like the person/persons may be going crazy.

Even make it seem to others this said person may be going out of their mind. When they tell their side of events. Because it happening all within a small time frame, it all being jumbled.

For what could be, to go undetected. Or even seem to not be doing what they are doing.

This is just my theory on this particular case.

I do believe "karen",is definitely going through a lot in all of this. And she is lost, in some way. Because dealing with the "other side of things",can get confusing, and dangerous.

Karen I honestly hope all is ok with You, and your children.

Ok, I know my friends away from here will think I'm doing a backflip on what I said earlier, but I do need to set the record straight... There is a lot more going on here with Karen than most of you realize... A lot more. Unfortunately without the authors approval I can't go into all the detail. What I will do, is answer some of her criticism here on her behalf... I think it were Mac or Rook, who questioned how is it possible in a short space of time, Karen could go from not knowing much at all about the paranormal, to all of a sudden, knowing more than enough, or something along those lines.

About three weeks ago, Karen had asked for my advise and I suggested to her, learn as much as you can... Knowledge is power, wisdom or something like that... She asked me If I would mentor her and I took up her request... Probably 2 to 3 hours a day and that's not including her own research, Karen has had a crash coarse on quantum mechanics, quantum entanglement,biocentrism,the holographic universe and many other theories and facts, with me explaining the paranormal from my own perspective... It actually amazed me how quick she took it all in and with in just three weeks from my view, she had expanded her consciousness to a point of which actually quite surprised me...that's why when she came back to YGS she seemed a little more knowledgeable and confident about her own accounts... However the thumb of rule when it comes to YGS... Have a good think about what you claim and make sure you have ruled out all other possibilities before doing so.

I think without going back and reading every word, Karen really does believe her children and her can cause power outages or what ever else she said, it's not a lie, if you believe it to be true and it was entice out of her by another member here which was fair enough. I don't think she really wanted to share it, but living in a universe based on probabilities that kind of suggest nothing is not mathematically impossible. Karen was game enough to put her thoughts down with sincere belief.

What I can vouch for in relation to the GM building, I was talking to her on the night of the black out, she actually sent me that picture directly from the location during that conversation so it was in mid march you don't need to doubt her on that any more... I think Dandk also made a good point about the GM building.

I don't like seeing someone being kicked in the guts when they don't deserve it... I understand the mods are very protective of the material published here. I lost a friend this morning over this, I am sorry I do believe you!

I have thought of Munchausen Syndrome and Munchausen by Proxy. Karen if that's her real name should be reported because this is a mental health issue and is harmful to the child who the parent is targeting.

I wonder if this started once the father was first out of the picture and the mother started to slip into depression and then Munhausen Syndome to try to get him back (if he's alive) when that didn't work she went into Munchausen Syndrome to get him back and when that didn't work used her daughter for Munchausen by Proxy. What father wouldn't do what he could for his daughter?

Now I'll go put my big shoes, red nose, squirting Daisey, and be the best ever clown.

I think it's time to let this go now. There are other accounts that need our attention. I truly thank all members who took the time out of their lives to assist. It proves what this community is all about.

Just like to make my last comment on this whole train wreck - although it turned out that in fact, many others also felt suspicious of "Karen's" story, I truly wrestled with what I felt was the best course of action when I decided to openly cast my personal doubts on her situation, as prior to that there seemed to be an overwhelming amount of support (including my own) for her and her daughters on this site from well-meaning, kind people.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for some people) this particular site is not the best choice for deliberate deception, as it is clearly frequented and monitored by psychics, sensitives and empaths etc, who have the gift of second sight, if you will, and not much slips past them.

I certainly mean no harm to anyone but I generally take a very dim view on deliberate deception; there's no place for it. If the deception is a genuine, but misguided cry for help, then that's very sad but I feel it's the completely wrong way to go about solving personal issues.

In my personal (non-psychiatrist and non-medical background) opinion, "Karen" does need help, and I believe she needs to research Munchausen Syndrome and Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. I honestly believe that's where her issues lie, somewhere in that field and that's a great place to start.

I'm not saying for a second "Karen" is harming her daughters (if they even exist - if they do "Maya" must be 15 or 16 now - she's a big girl) but it's more in the attention-seeking aspect of it that seems to fit here.

We had Robins this year, early in February, in my part of the woods in the northwest. I saw a large flock - like at least 60-100. It was still cold. That night I saw temperatures in the low 20's. I hoped they were ok. I'm a bird lover (but not knowledgeable), so I notice these things and it was quite unusual to see this flock at that time compared to any other year I remember.

Also, if the GM building is cutting their lights at night in March, perhaps Bonshaw saw that and didn't know and made the assumption it was paranormal.

I'm admittedly naive when it comes to being able to spot BS, so it probably does no good to say that I didn't see more than the normal amount in these posts. I didn't get the impression that this was a purposeful fake.

I'm always being educated though, but still am not seeing what everyone is talking about yet. I hope that everything works out for Karen and her children.

I have been reading for years, although I have never posted a story myself. (I truly mean to, but honestly I just don't know where to begin... Anyway) I have only ever commented on one other story, and I have emailed with Rook. So it takes a lot to get me to jump in.

Anyway, usually when I sit down to read, I do it in sort of a marathon so I am used to extended periods of YGS. Triden, Rook and a few others, I read all their posts in one sitting. However, I spent about an hour or so reading the OS and comments from oldest to newest. I have never felt so betrayed on YGS before. Possibly it is because, I feel so many of the good people on here, gave so much to this post and the OP.

I completely agree that after the electrical incidents, it started to become clear that something was completely off... WOW is all... WOW!

I am confused and 'hurt' by this turn of events.

I would like to thank everyone here for keeping track, watching out and or 'swallowing' along with this one.

I started to wonder a day or two after my post... The one Karen 'validated' as possibly being her parents home. However I still felt this was a person in need... But somehow they went from someone who did not believe... Or did not want to believe to an individual that EVERYTHING had to be paranormal AND had to revolve around them.

I was sent the pictures as well... There is a time stamp on one of them... For 10:12 am but no 'DATE'. Conditions outside seem slushy rather than frozen and there are birds in the yard... One of them has a red breast... But I have no way of knowing what day, month or year the pictures were taken. I did review the Temperatures for the Month of March this year for the area in question and the average temp was 41*F (5*C) which makes for mild winter/early spring like conditions for the area. Concerning the pictures of the O/P and her girls... One of them appears to be a selfie and the other two are extremely zoomed in, one of which reminds me of the kind you find in 'ready to go' store bought picture frame. As for the picture of the medication bottle... 5mg was the dosage I could make out... The instructions saying take two... So a total of 10mg A DAY... My Son is ADHD... Just turned 17 and based on his body weight he is taking a 20mg for his condition... So please excuse me if I feel like 10mg is a very low dosage (it is also the basic 'introductory dosage' for the medication type). Another thing about the bottle... The last name on it is NOT Boneshaw.

I will go so far as to say this...Karen's original submission, at least to me, feels honest, having said that the 'reported' weird events during March Break feel less honest, more of a cry for attention.

My stomach hurts on this one... I am worried that the one who needs the most help is not getting it because she is masking her needs behind those of her daughter. Perhaps to the point of projecting some of her own symptoms onto (into) her daughters condition.

We may never know the truth.

Time to move on, let the dust settle and let's continue to try our best to help those asking for it.

Everyone doesn't see a story the same way, which is really a good thing for this site. Individual interpretations and opinions are very helpful because one person, or more, may be wrong in their assessment of the situation.

If you have seen me comment in the past, you would know I don't generally ever comment unless I really have something to add or am so moved/annoyed by the O/P/story that I have to absolutely tell them.

Boy, have I seen you and the rest of the gang continue to try and keep YGS clean (you know what I mean). I have at times wondered if we are all being harsh, but what I have come to realize is that, in the end your mostly always right about stories like this being sensationalized by the O/P!

I did not sense Rook ever question this story in his second comment, so I almost bought the story. I know from experience that you have a good radar about this kind of stuff and now with zzsgrany's two cents, its sealed. Thanks for keeping at it for the rest of us (by us I mean 'lazy person like me' who don't make much of an effort)

AlexZernov - you mentioned you didn't think the o/p would go to the extent of giving specific details. I checked your profile and it shows you opened your account earlier this month (March), but I don't know whether or not you've been a silent reader before that. Anyway, point of that is, if you haven't been around very long you may have missed more than one of our members who are repeat offenders of submitting stories under different profile names. And these offenders give very specific details. They fill up their story with fluff, or cotton candy if you will, and maybe no one will notice their story is full of holes, inconsistencies, blatant lies, etc. A form of distraction.

And thank you for your support in not thinking we (Macknorton, ladydarke, ladyglowe, babygoatpuller and I) are cyber bullies. I didn't think we were either, but that term has been tossed around for all the years I've been here.

There is one thing I want everyone to understand. In the case of this story, the decision to say something against the o/p wasn't made lightly in my case, and I'm sure in Ladydarke's and Mack's. I don't generally speak for other people, but in this case I feel I am right in what I'm saying. Most of us are parents and grandparents and a story about a child going through something, whether or not it is paranormal, is never taken lightly. We try our very best to help. I have a 14 year old son and 23 year old daughter so I understand how frightening a situation can be and how it feels to be helpless. So brushing aside the concerns that a child is going through is not something we do. As a matter of fact, it is the very last thing that we would do. Our comments and concerns about the story have nothing to do with the daughter and what she is experiencing. It's about the inconsistencies in the story reported by the o/p that have nothing to do with the daughter's experiences.

I think I'm through with my speech except for one last thing. Those of you who believe in the o/p's story, don't let us persuade you that it isn't real. That's not what this is about. If you have been corresponding with her, please, if you feel you have help and/or advice, continue offering it.

I am only trying to say that it could be real. Its the kind and compassionate person you are that you would like to hear that the kid is not in any problem. Thank you for that. I also would pray that the kid not be any problem and if she is already in one, then may the problem be resolved at the earliest.

Thanks Alex. I really don't yet know enough to claim real understanding of these things.
I'm really sorry if my post wasn't proper.

I hate the idea that someone would upset everyone by making up such an emotional story. But at the same time I hope it is fake because then the suffering of little Maya wouldn't be real.

I am still new in my research which I am undertaking to try and understand experiences I had when I am younger.
I have found so much inconsistent and contradictory information out there and I don't even know which stories and information are reliable.

I shouldn't have posted that comment because I don't know enough to judge. I was just so worried by the original story then when people were saying it was fake I was upset that someone would do that. But I am in no position to judge if it is real or not. I just don't know enough.

Emma_Girl: I don't think it is a fake story. I believe there is some sort of paranormal activity involved. We can justify paranormal with a rational thinking. Things are beyond rational thinking and hence they are called paranormal. I really think these things are happening with Karen and her kids.

Rational thinking makes me feel that the whole story is made up (except for the child undergoing a problem).

At the same time, it could be that what Karen has written is true completely. May be these things are happening. May be there was a power outage and it was not reported. There are a lot of things which happen around us and won't be reported either because it was not brought to the notice or brought to the notice but not reported because it won't match the reporting agencies agenda. Calling someone a lair because something was not reported is absolute rubbish.

Lets say this story was made up... The O/P made so many of us hook to this story and follow up and constantly keep visiting the story to check for updates. That is quite a brilliant story writing. Isnt it. This says that the O/P is a very good writer and stroked the right chords amongst so many of us. She could have continued the same thing. If it was really a fake story or the O/P is a lair, she would not have gone to the extent of mentioning specific details of which building the power was off and the duration.

Some times rational thinking drives us to make wrong judgement.

I believe Karen's experiences are real and would love to hear back from her on the site.

Karen, there is no need for you to be upset. This site is full of information and people who are willing to help. Posters like Macknorton, ladydarke, miracles, ladyglowe and babygoatpuller are also very helpful people. I don't think they are jerks and definitely not online bullies.

It is bizarre. And its really difficult to believe with a rational mind. No one should be called a jerk or a bully because they think rationally.

Wow. I just read Karen's story. I was crying before I got half way through for poor Maya. I know what its like to be young and just so afraid.

Granny, about the ip address, is it possible the number was reassigned? I ask because I don't really know how that works, but did notice a couple of years ago when I was having router problems that my internet service provider had at some point unbeknownst to me changed their base address so that instead of having a 162 in it, it now has a 159. I'm not sure about those numbers because I've forgotten them, but you get the idea.

Okay. The IP address assigned to this poster also belongs to at least two others, and they have been inactive members for over 6 years although their profiles still exist. So here's the kicker. An IP address will only prove that the same internet connection is being used. If that's the case, the IP address of this particular poster would differ because she said this was a "new" house, and had only been there since the Spring of 2014.

Karen, I got your e-mail. I won't disclose to anyone the information on the pic of the prescription. But let me tell you something. I'm not easily duped. I'm conflicted, because I have to admit you had me hook, line and sinker and that's really rather admirable on your part. But I'm pissed because I hate to made to look like a fool. Finally...I couldn't figure out what everyone was reading that I wasn't, but I hesitated to voice my misgivings again on another popular story. I was feeling a little like I had entered the Twilight Zone! 😉

I really do hope everyone takes the time to form their own opinion for this story and I completely agree that everyone will believe what we choose to believe, however, I've been the culprit of jumping to conclusions based on the first comments I see whether they're negative or positive as I'm sure have others. On that note a couple of things from my afternoon searching to prove or disprove the inconsistencies, Detroit is part of the lights out or the safe passage program. Buildings are encouraged to turn their lights off at 11 pm until dawn from mid March until June to help migrating birds. GM is one of the biggest supporters of this program. Also according to Robin sighting maps they have been spotted in Ontario since late January.

longtimeguest - if it were only one fact that could be explainable. I'm sure all of us who have submitted stories have goofed. Unfortunately it isn't just one.

Because so many of our members, myself included, offered our advice, and because this seemed such a tragic situation, I really wanted it to be true. I set out this afternoon trying to disprove my theories and findings. Unfortunately, the more I read the more I found that supported my original misgivings. Like I said, I believe there is something going on with Maya, but I don't believe everything we have been told.

And you are completely right about it being disheartening for a member to have their story not believed. I have had that happen. And there are stories every day that we have to return because there is no evidence to support the claim of paranormal activity. It is frustrating for us as well.

The thing is, not everyone is going to believe that the facts don't support this story, just as everyone didn't believe the story was true. It's all what we choose to believe and what makes us feel better about our choice.

I completely understand and can be as cynical as the next. I have read my fair share of stories where half way through I just had to stop. But if one fact that seems inconsistent is a reason to discount their whole experience then why believe anyone's story? All I'm saying is when someone is encouraged to tell their story, and feels safe enough in this group to do so just to have their entire account discredited over one part of a comment, I can only imagine how disheartening that would be.

Notiice that I have not chimed in until now? Well that's because I don't usually comment on stories that give me that B/S vibe. You say she had a full physical but no mention of the psychiatrist ordering an E.E.G. (electroencephalograph) or M.R.I. Which would have been ordered whether or not anything showed up on the E.E.G... They would NOT have put her on any kind of medicine without of those tests AND a thorough complete blood workup. NO doctor worth his salt would be THAT quick to institutionalize a young child without these tests.

Then you hear about SLIders and all of a sudden your daughters can not only mess with street lights but they ALSO made several BUILDINGS lose power this month. AHEM no such thing happened, these buildings lost power in AUGUST because of some problem with an electrical sub station. I live in New York and it certainly would have made the news here if there was a power outage this month because Home Land Security would have investigated it to make sure it wasn't a terrorist attack. Yes they are THAT paranoid because they are afraid that would be a trial run for New York or another big city.

SLIders was brought to my attention when I mentioned that at one job making drill bits if I was mad at one of my bosses I would concentrate on a machine I was not using and that machine would break down. Without fail if I was mad I would concentrate on different machines and they would break down. Computers also messed up around me in stores but would work if I walked away.

I live on Long Island and we have a few Robins that live here year round BUT on bitter cold days you don't see any. There is NO WAY that at -3 degrees which I imagine is in the lower to mid 20's (I don't know the conversions) there wouldn't be ANY Robins much less 40 on a tree (what you counted?) or in bushes. Where I live we can and have had snowfall until the end of April so I imagine Canada can have snowfalls in May and dates on cameras can be changed easily and even if you had a newspaper to hold up with corresponding date how can anyone tell if you saved the paper to doctor the picture?

Sorry to be so harsh but I call them like I see them. Before I get hit with a bunch of negative votes please remember as I said I don't usually comment on stories that give me doubt and give me the B/S vibe which I got because of important missing medical tests. These tests would have to be done prior to a doctor even thinking of institutionalize a young child.

longtimeguest - if you have read stories on our site for years, you have seen more than one person submit a story, claiming it to be true when in fact it turned out to be complete and utter bunk. I'm not suggesting there isn't something going on with Bonshaw's daughter, but what I am stating is all the facts presented are not true. When someone deliberately makes comments that contradict each other, it's hard for me to have any faith in anything that is said. Jaded? Perhaps. Cynical? Definitely.

Hi all, I've been reading stories on this site for years and haven't felt compelled to comment until now. I am so disappointed in everything that I've read in the comments the last couple of days. YGS has always seemed to me to be the best place for anyone to get advice from others who will listen to their situations and give advice without judgement but every now and then I see this, innocent questions to verify someone's story that quickly turn into a witch hunt. Unfortunately this time it seems it was enough to run off a person that sounds like they need, if nothing else, support and understanding and to know there was a community that would listen no matter how crazy it all sounded. Inconsistencies or not my thoughts will continue to be with Karen and her daughters and I really hope people learn how negative and saddening the judgement on this site can be.

Okay - I am one of the admins (mods) Bonshaw sent her proof pictures to, so to ensure some of our members don't think I am picking on Bonshaw or ignoring her request to help validate her story, I can tell you there are no dates/time/places on the pictures as Bonshaw had stated. Therefore, none of the pictures will stand as proof. Yes, there are a couple with birds in them but nothing to indicate when the pictures were taken.

There are far too many inconsistencies in the comments section and story that make me believe it to be real. If anyone has doubts about what Mack, Ladydarke and I have expressed, I strongly encourage you to reread everything.

I have emailed two administrators with photos of myself and my two daughters, including a photo of my daughter Maya's bottle of meds for her bi polar disorder with her name on them. I also emailed the pic of the GM Renaissance centre taken from our hotel suite room window (before it went dark), photos of all the robins in our tree AND video and a video of the weird lights in the sky outside our house.

Most people would just tell online bullies like macknorton, ladydarke, miracles, ladyglowe and babygoatpuller to go take a hike and then brush it off, BUT I was raised differently. Honesty to me is EVERYTHING. That is why I want to leave you all knowing that every word I ever spoke was the truth. A lot of wonderful people here have invested much time and prayer and thoughts and energy into myself and my little girls and I am in tears writing this and will be forever grateful. I can not be part of this group any longer though because there are some very mean and judgemental people here and I have enough struggles as it is without thinking that my words are being judged and that I'm being thought of as a liar or as miracles insinuated that I'm not even who I really am! That really hurts. If you guys met me you would know I'm the most gentle truthful honest person ever.

So thank you to all who helped and to those who hurt, I forgive you. Try to be kinder in the future.

First off. Go ahead. Call the GM Renaissance Centre and ask them if there was a power failure in March of this year, over March break.

They will say yes. Because there was.

If there was another one years ago I didn't know about it. I had never seen the GM Renaissance Centre OR heard of it until I checked into our hotel.

I spell it "mum" not "mom" because I was born in Cumbria England and raised there until I was almost 11 when my family moved to Canada.

I took pictures AND filmed the robins in the tree outside my house AND the lights outside my house with my phone. In the pictures you see the time, date and it says Centre Wellington. Which is where I live. If I could add them to this post I would, but I can't. Feel free to ask me for them though you rude, cold and judgemental bunch of cynical jerks.

I was absent from this site for so long because I have been going through HELL with my little girl. I am a single mother trying to hold it all together and stay strong and guide my daughter through this most difficult time. YGS felt like a family to me. Warm and welcoming and Rook, who kind of feels like the father of it all said to trust in it and share the weirdness of what had been happening, that this community was understanding and accepting. I logged in hoping to find answers and instead I am sitting here typing this in tears with shaking hands.

ladydarke and Mack - I've had my own reservations from the very beginning but was hoping this wasn't another one of "those" stories. I was holding off saying anything because I was hoping the o/p would say something that would make me feel better about the story. This latest comment was just too much for me to believe, even though I wanted to give her the benefit of a doubt. Even though some things have been changed so we don't immediately realize we recognize this style of writing, the familiarity was there.

And I, too, hope no one gets upset over believing this latest in a long line of fictional stories. It is actually a show of absolute faith in people and complete willingness to help strangers, which is what we are about 😊

Robins?

In Wellington County, Ontario? In MARCH? I suppose all 40 of them were frozen dead, except there's no way they could have got there in the first place.

First, consider the climate regarding bird migratory patterns. March is still deep winter in that region. That's why Canadians call it March Break rather than spring break. That's also why there are March ice storms. Furthermore, Wellington County is in the snow belt. Driving Highway 6 from Arthur past Fergus, you can go through white out conditions, revving your car to punch through snow drifts obstructing the road, snow as high as your car on either side of the road... Then come into Guelph, the roads are fine and the day is clear and cold.

Secondly, anyone who's lived in Ontario knows that the migration pathway for birds runs through Pelee Point. It is not a random influx, it follows a pattern. Therefore, Pelee Point has bird sanctuaries, bird watchers, and a Festival of the Birds which celebrates the migration... In MAY. I might expect to see the first lone lorn robin sometime toward mid-April in Wellington County... Certainly not before Easter. So this huge unseasonal early influx of robins is high strangeness and is going to peak crazy amounts of interest among the Pelee Point birders and sanctuaries, which the birds pass through... Nope, no hits, no mention of unusual migratory behavior.

Also as anyone who has actually lived in the Wellington County area knows, the local papers for the little towns are generally hard up for news and will write stories about the first robin sighting, because spring gets to be a looked-for event after a long winter. No hits for that either.

So where did this flock of 40 out-of-season winter robins come from, as they didn't follow the migratory path? How did they survive the temperatures long enough to make it all the way north to Wellington County?

Btw, -3C in February in Ontario is an amazingly warm day. It's the sort of winter day just below freezing where you'd be out enjoying the weather, and if you went to the slopes at Blue Mountain you'd likely see some Canadians skiing in shorts and t-shirts, because, yeah, that is what -3C in FEBRUARY is to Canadians. So anyone in Wellington County doing a cleanse that required opening windows ought to be quite glad for such a fine day rather than complaining about opening windows because it's so cold. That is not the perspective of anyone residing locally.

Also, regional usage is "mom" not "mum." Canadians view "mum" as a UK thing.

YGS members, this is a fake story. It has been replete with inconsistencies and irrationalities throughout. You can find them for yourselves if you read with a discerning eye. I should have called out the catfish long before so many became emotionally involved in the story.

Thank you for deciding to keep informing the YGS community on the progress of your daughters and yourself. I felt compelled to contact you directly a couple of days ago, I hope you didn't mind.

Your original heart-felt submission for assistance regarding your daughter generated (naturally) a lot of sympathy and compassion from well-meaning people here who genuinely wanted to help you. These same people offered a lot of their time with support and suggestions.

However...I read with interest your account of the GM Renaissance building (s) losing power in the March break. You intimated that possibly, somehow your daughters managed to completely "power down" that entire complex by their command over electricity.

I asked my Uncle (second name Google) about this power outage and he replied that yes there was in fact, a power outage at the GM Renaissance building but it was August 3rd, 2015. There was a LOT of coverage over this power outage (that lasted around 2 hours - 4pm to about 6:30pm in broad daylight) because there were some people trapped in elevators. The outage was caused by a downed sub station.

It was BIG news; footage of fire engines racing there etc, have look for yourself, it's all there. But NO mention what-so-ever of an apparent 5 hour power outage only mere weeks ago (assuming it was this year?)

Are you able to elaborate on a couple of other points?

You recently posted "I haven't read through many other accounts or profiles on here... I probably should." Well with all due respect Karen, I would have thought (maybe my judgement is off) that you would have absolutely PORED over this vast, informative site in order to really work out if your daughter (now daughters?) were / are experiencing paranormal phenomena, before taking the drastic step of medicating them?

Are you able to elaborate on your ability to blow street lights by walking under them? How long have you had this ability? If that had been me, by the 4th or 5th streetlight blowing, I would have put 2 and 2 together.

What about the "strange things" that you experienced as a child / teenager that your family ignored or were swept under the rug? If you were also experiencing paranormal happenings as a child, don't you think that detail would have been significant, to say the least, in putting your daughter (s) experiences into a meaningful context?

I, along with many others here, have followed your posts with avid interest, and to be honest, my feelings about your posts have swung from "Oh my God, this woman seriously needs our help!" to: "hang on a minute, are we actually being taken for a long ride here?"

Your last posts to me, seem to be someone who is possibly just now giving the audience what they want... And as the need for more information appears to be growing, so your responses appear to be more and more improbable and incredible.

We now have strange lights in the sky, wild animals behaving strangely, your daughters providing electricity to your house whilst neighboring properties are without power, you now have a power over electricity as well, your daughters powering down entire skyscrapers (yet to be actually verified) electrical systems by simply looking at them.

It just all seems a bit...well...Hollywood-ish now, sorry.

How has Maya been doing with all this new information? I've heard of the C.H.A.P.S group before. Can't place where but I think on tv. If I remember correctly, I was impressed with how they handled things.

Wow, ok that is quite a bit of information and much strangeness indeed.

Having said that 'gifts' can run in Families, however they are usually limited to One, perhaps Two things... For instance being a SLider AND being Empathic OR being a medium (someone who can channel spirits/entities and being a sensitive, someone who 'feels' spirit energy (and in MY BOOK they are NOT the same thing).

The variety and intensity MAY have something to do with the age of your daughters; its really hard to say without being there to 'experience' what you and your Family are experiencing. However, if it holds true that your daughters have really strong gifts the sooner they learn to control them the easier things will be for them (and you). Please ask any questions you may have, YGS is a GREAT RESOURCE for information and advice.

I do believe your gut instinct on the earlier Medium appointment is he right way to go. I also feel the paranormal group investigators and their associated Medium will be good for your family. I am glad that you are listening to and trusting your instincts as I have learned to do, also! Just wish the paranormal group would have been able to visit your home at the earlier date.

I have to say that I think the way you explained the paranormal activity to your two girls was beautiful. Perhaps the good spirits are happy that you shared that info with your children and now have quieted down their attempts to reach out and be noticed now that they are recognized.

Please keep adding any activities you notice to your journal since this info will be helpful to the paranormal investigators when they do come to investigate your home.

Good to hear from you and I am happy that things seemed to have at least 'leveled out' somewhat and that the feeling is less tense within your home.

The Cleansing/Shielding works great on 'negativity' but not so much on neutral or positive energies, spirits, entities... And these, if not understood or feared can be a case of 'heightened tension' within a home.

Speaking to the 'spirit', setting ground rules is a good thing to establish. Working both of your girls into it is helpful as well, at least they know you are listening to them, agree that something is happening and that you are proactively working towards a resolution all while including them with all the plans.

Hello all.

I checked in last night for the first time in weeks. I read all the messages and was so touched with everyone's concern and I feel absolutely horrible for worrying anyone!

Maya is no better or worse, I still have her home with me. I have not told CPRI yet that she won't be going, I'm waiting on the paranormal team to come through before I make my mind up 100% on that.

The paranormal team (C.H.A.P.S) was supposed to come through on Saturday night but this area was hit with a massive ice storm that left us with downed trees and widespread power outages so we are rescheduled for May now.

The reason I withdrew for a bit is because there were just too many events and too much activity to keep an update on. And to be blunt so much of what was going on was so bizarre that I didn't think anyone would believe me anyways. I won't even go into it now.

I have used Rook's cleanse 3 times now and my girls and I shield now and that seems to have dialled down the activity a bit now. It seems to be confined to the attic and roof at night time. I decided honesty was the best policy and without disclosing everything I gave my girls some insight into what was going on. In an age appropriate and non scary way. I approached it from a science perspective, that all matter is energy, when we die that energy is just released into another dimension. It doesn't die, it is our true self. I explained that the girls may be picking up on those energies and because of that those energies may be trying to be heard or get a message through. I said "what do you do when you REALLY want me to listen but I'm not listening... You get mad right? Well some of these energies are doing the same thing and aren't using their manners so we just need to say, ok I hear you, now pipe down."

I don't know. Maybe it worked? I'm a total amateur here just going with my gut but even though we still have whacky electrical disturbances and knocking and banging, that "threatening" feeling seems to have lifted. So that is a step in the right direction!

I decided to not go with that medium. I had the appointment for Maya booked but 2 days before it my gut said do not go! So I cancelled. The paranormal team is headed by a medium so he is going to do a reading with Maya when he comes over. My gut tells me he is a GOOD guy. Not that this woman was bad... Just not the right one for us.

Did anyone hear from Karen vie email or through any other means? Coming back to this story to check for her safety every day but no updates!: (

Already been doing that frangelica. She seemed to be getting pulled in so many directions and didn't know which way to go. I don't want to toot our own horns here but it seemed to me that she was getting some pretty solid advice from her "last resort".

I was hoping she would sit Maya down and explain and/or show her what you all have been advising and offering to help her deal with this. If Karen was worried about Maya's age and if she's mature enough to handle it, I think what she's been through would pretty much age any of us.

Yes, the lack of response back by Karen does have me worried. It is just so unusual since we all had almost daily discussions with her and we are all very invested in only the best outcome for her family! My mind also runs wild occasionally worrying what may have happened with her family to cause a lack of any communication back from her.

I am going to try and send more loving thoughts to her family and ask that all of us that care about her and her family do the same - though I am sure all of you are already doing so!

Do you think she would just go ahead and commit her? I hope not. I really thought she was making progress here with the whole situation.

I'm worried that the 'psychic' she 'engaged'...or the spiritual healer' what ever she 'CLAIMED TO BE'. Did not convince her that 'we' (YGS members) were Loonies (we are but that's not the point) and that 'she' was the only person that could 'help' her.

Hi Karen,

I think since you have a good feeling about the medium associated with the paranormal group I would definitely continue to meet with them when they can get to your place. Plus they are willing to do it at no charge which shows that they are good people concerned about your family. I feel really good about them for you!

I also took a look at the Medium you mentioned that you have the appointment with, plus the people she studied under that she mentioned on her website. They do seem to all have some medium and or psychic experience but I sensed they were more life coaches, medical intuitives, energy healers, etc. That may be good for your daughter, especially trying to help determine whether your daughter's issues are medical or due to paranormal influences, just don't have enough info on her to be 100% supportive of her at this time for your daughter - you need to use your own instinct on this! She appears to have intuitive ability to help determine what is affecting your daughter, but she posts she does not solely work as a medium or psychic. It seems based on people's reviews on her site that she was helping mainly adults that had blocks in their personal life or career based on a previous mental block or due to a past life issue - just not sure what her experiences are with children that are sensitive to energy. Why do you have to meet for a full 2 hours - would feel better if it was a shorter session for a lot less money so you can see if she connects with your family. I don't think she would be harmful to your family but am concerned that she would keep asking more money to work with your family. These are just my initial thoughts and feelings, but you need to continue to use your gut instinct with this.

In relation to asking about the price she is charging, something comes to mind are what my international known Medium instructor says about shysters charging $400 to clear a home of ghosts or bad entities and that makes a killing without really doing anything - she said the person has gotten rich off of people doing this and not really clearing the houses! My instructor is a strict Roman Catholic and a member of the Spiritualist church, which was important to me to make sure I learned from a true religious person that truly had good intentions. I mention this because I felt safe learning from her and my other instructor who was a Spiritualist minister also. So I understand how it can be concerning for you in trusting someone when you really do not know much about them.

I guess I would recommend if you are concerned that Maya is still being affected in your home and you don't want to wait for the paranormal group and medium, that you try to setup a shorter visit with the medium/healer/life coach for less money to see how the session goes and whether you feel comfortable with this person. You can always setup another appointment at a later time to continue?

Hopefully others can also provide their thoughts on this person for you!

When you meet her in person, Carol I mean, if she gives you ANY sort of 'bad vibe' DO NOT let her preform a cleansing... From the story she shared with you I get the impression that when she preforms one it's an 'EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE' must go...positive, helpful or guardian... They can not stay. Not a good thing, at least in my book.

You say the leader of the Paranormal Group is also a medium... Check her 'reading' of your home against his... Make sure neither of them are providing 'easy to research facts' coated is 'spirit' mumbo jumbo.

I'm not sure what the 2hr visit is going to entail. I didn't give her too much info, she just asked for the gist of things. I told her it all started around the time that we moved into the old farmhouse in Belwood. Then we moved to Fergus and things got worse there with Maya seeing and hearing things so we moved again back to Belwood to the Lake and things got even worse. She asked me for the address of the farmhouse, she said she wanted to do a background check on it and she asked to have some of Maya's drawings emailed to her, of the things Maya was seeing. Mainly of the shadow figures, Tesla and the girl with no eyes.

I've never heard of her before. Maya and I went into "The Bookery" to buy the supplies for the cleanse and the woman who worked there approached us and started asking us questions as if she knew something was up (even though we were acting totally fine). She asked if she could do Reiki on Maya and I thought "oh what the heck she's picking something up", so I told her s little of what was going on and she said that she had sensed it as soon as we had walked in. She told me to call this woman, Carol Balkans (the medium), that she was really good.

The Paranormal team that is coming out Easter wknd is also led by a medium. His name is David. He says he won't take any money from me because he has gone through this exact same thing with his own kids. The mental health thing and everything. I WILL give him $100 for gas though. He's driving 40 minutes to me with his team and there's just the warmest caring feeling from him and his team.

I was thinking about cancelling the appointment with Carol but it can't hurt right? The ONLY thing though... And I don't know why this keeps sticking with me... When we spoke on the phone she told me about a house cleansing she had done. An old farmhouse. And a child had lived there and the spirit had stuck to the family and was making one of the kids sick and she said she cleansed the whole house and was finished but could still feel something and then found the ghost hiding stuck against a wall in the big fireplace. She said she went at it aggressively and called it out and threw it out of there. She was laughing and said "I wasn't afraid of it". I felt really sad when she said that for some weird reason because all I could think of was the ghost of a child lost and trapped and if it still felt anything how it would feel even more scared if it was getting threatened and yelled at. Like I've said many times already, I'm new to this. Maybe that's not how this works? Maybe they don't "feel" anything? Or maybe you do have to be tough like that? I don't know. I'm going on so much of this stuff by intuition because my mind is trying to catch up still. My intuition just said "hmmmm, hang on a sec..." Does anyone else's?

I would have hoped the Medium would come to your house because of the things that have happened there so she can feel the effects herself. However the most important thing is that she connects with your families spirit guides and utilizes her own during your visit to get the info she needs to help guide your family. Since you mentioned 2 hours for the visit, is she going to teach you how to protect yourselves, also?

I can only discuss the cost like this. I just worked a psychic fair and typically the psychic fair host charges $30 for a 20 minute read that I do and I am just starting this and just have real experience from all my classes and practice readings I have done.

My internationally known evidential medium instructor charges a little over $150 for a reading, whether in person or by the phone. They typically last 45 minutes to over an hour because she specializes in parents that have lost their children. So if she is spending that amount of time with you and she is very experienced and comes recommended, then that may not be far off because of the time she is allotting you.

My main concern is that you know she was recommended by someone that has used her like the paranormal group? That is very important! Is she an evidential medium? That is important if you do not have a recommendation from someone you trust.

You do not want to give her any detailed info about what is transpiring with Maya at your home because that could cause her to just repeat these things to you when you go there. That is why the evidential mediums I know do not want to hear anything about the person before the reading so we can bring proof of something only you and your departed loved one would know like a shared memory or them describing something you recently did where they were observing you - That is what is called evidential proof that they are really connecting to your loved ones via your and the Medium's spirit guides. She needs to start the session bringing forward evidence like this as proof of connection to your loved ones or something that happened to you or your girls that only you and them would know. We are taught to only allow answers back from our sitters like yes, no, I don't know or I can understand that, so as not to gain any info from the clients. You can open up discussion after the main reading is done.

Does she have a website? Maybe some of us can look at it and tell you what we think about the medium?

I don't want to get you nervous but it is real easy to give out too much detailed info before a reading or during the reading to the Medium that gives her enough info to expand on during the reading. It is okay if you have given her general info about the problems Maya has had, but no details - let her provide the details as proof of the living mind. She may be able to describe the layout of your home like Rook tries to do even though she has never been to your home. I have even had my Master Guide come through for me by someone reading me to give me a message during our training readings. My other instructor didn't like that (she was trained in England!), but it can happen!

Let me know if you have any questions. I know you had to give her some info about the problems Maya has been having but she will need to give back details to you that only could come from spirit as confirmation.

Sorry this is so long! Hopefully other mediums on YGS can give you their thoughts and feelings on this as well! I thought the electronic / technological chaos of lightbulbs, engines, microwaves, airport metal detectors, computers, elevators, security doors, video cameras, and telephones was a normal consequence of Edison's poorly-conceptualized and inefficient designs, unlike the elegant theories and practical applications of Nikola Tesla.

In every conversation I have ever had with a "Tech Support" person, within 20 minutes --without fail-- he or she has said, "it can't/shouldn't do that," "it's programmed not to do that," "I've never seen one do that," or "how did you make it do that?" I'm more surprised when technology works as advertised to accomplish the task I need it to do. (Of course, one of the useful map applications on this phone can't find a route between my hobby-supply store and my supermarket, despite my making that 8-minute drive every two weeks for the last year...)

That is great that you now have an appointment with the Medium you found. I also agree that you should try not to give her too much info until she can meet Maya and be in your house! She needs to tell you what she is seeing or feeling and then that can open up discussion where Maya can confirm or not what she is saying.

My first thoughts when you mentioned earlier that there was a village submerged in that lake was that there had been a lot of drownings in that lake, which is why I asked you then whether you knew if there were a lot of drownings in that lake. That was great that the Medium has already confirmed that was the case and it could explain the large amount of activity in your neighborhood.

Yes there are definitely people that have that affect on street lights and lights in general so you should read up on the links provided by zzsgranny.

I am very happy that Maya seems to be feeling a bit better and dreaming happy symbolic dreams now. Hopefully the Medium will be able to give you more info and answers to help her some more! Keep doing the cleansing you have been doing since it seems to be helping!

My advice to you re any Medium, is not to give them too much info at all; if they are genuine, they should be able to give you a lot of information that should validate your daughters, and your, experiences.

There a many genuine mediums around of varying ability and accuracy, but also a lot of charlatans, unfortunately.

Update.

The Medium who was recommended to us contacted me tonight. She was away visiting family up north and her visit was extended longer than planned because of our temperamental Canadian weather, but she is back in town now and we have a 2 hr appointment scheduled for next Monday at 1:00.

Ironically she said that she has worked with a few other people in our area before, and for similar reasons (children seeing things). Apparently this area (Wellington County) is a bit of a "hot spot" for "activity" (I don't know what the correct term is for seeing/hearing the spirits around you? Sixth sense stuff?)

There have been a LOT of drownings in this lake that we live on apparently.

Hopefully we can get some answers. I didn't really offer much info, the medium (Carol) just asked a whole bunch of questions that eerily all pertained to Maya. One in particular I found quite weird. Something I've always noticed but never thought much of. Never connected the dots with until now. At night, when we walk the dogs, or when we are in a parking lot and we walk underneath a streetlight, at least one streetlight turns off. Every single time, without fail. I always thought some of them were on motion sensers or something, I swear. Carol informed me tonight that they aren't. That it's to do with Maya's energy or something? (I can't remember exactly how she worded it). But the gist of it is they turn off because of Maya (or people like Maya).

Anyone else on here have that happen to you? I'm interested to hear about this one to see if it's true of if this woman is having me on.

The more recent experiences yes, and of course the ones you described in your recent comments... I think the 'happy dream' Maya had of being a Black cat in a hot air balloon lends itself to interpretation... As the energy and spirit/entity levels 'lighten up'...not as 'strong', less negativity around, not as many Maya's mood is 'lifting' and her own 'happy/positive' energy levels are growing... Additionally the spirits that want to help you, Your Grandfather, Spirit Guides and/or Spirit Animals are able to get closer. As for Family Guardians go, they have always been there, a silent strength helping to hold things together and even they will be able to work 'more freely' now that the negativity has begun to clear out.

What is strange is that I brought up the topic of spirit animals with her and she very calmly said that yes she knew exactly what I was talking about. But that hers is not a black cat. She just sees them a lot.

I asked her where she had read about spirit animals and she said she hadn't she had just always known they were there but didn't know WHY they were there so she had googled it and learned that they were called "totems". She says that we all have them. That hers is a raven, Maddy's is a doe and that I have 2, a hawk and a wolf.

It's very weird too because whenever I've had really hard days with Maya lately and I've gone for a long walk or a long drive and prayed for strength, several times I have seen Hawks. We live in the country so that's not unusual, but they have come really close to me which is.

On Christmas Eve 3 years ago weeks after the passing of my Granda I was driving into town and pulled over because there was a wolf standing at the treeline in a field at the side of the road. The Girls & I watched it and took about 10 photos of it. I made eye contact with it for about 10 seconds, it was a super spiritual experience. We have coyotes in this part of Ontario but no wolves this far south.

So maybe these experiences are more "spirit animal" in nature?

Cat's can act as a messengers in the spirit realm or energetic level. Black Cat's were once seen as 'good luck' and they can be very protective. My spirit animal happens to be a 'large cat'.

I still do not think I picked up on her dream as I did not feel anybody else's emotions... Just mine as I 'searched'. Mayhap the 'black cat she became... Or what she saw was a spirit Guardian or Guide to help Maya deal with the situation.

The cat I 'saw' was not a physical one, this was a cat on the spiritual plane.

I may have 'picked up' on her dream but I do not think so... I had the impression that the cat I saw 'embodied' some negative energies and was slowly making its way out and away from your Family.
