Granny, this story made me laugh!

Your ghost sounds strong-willed and a little stubborn. That's the same vibe I get from you while reading this story. No wonder her spirit bonded to you.

Keep up the good work! Now,i'm going to go read more of your stories...

😊 That sounds awesome Granny and yeh now I know what it looks like aswell is even better! Do you use it much at all? I like how you have made it, I believe being something like a pendulum, because your time and effort and energy have been used to contruct it, the results you will receive from it will be a lot clearer and more effective then say a bought one from a store! 😊

DARKNESS: The stone is a pentagon, with the point on the bottom, about an inch and a half long, an inch wide... I took a very long piece of leather strapping and wrapped it around, creating an X on both sides... Then threaded the ends through a few wooden beads and knotted them on...It's a lot heavier than a pendulum should be, but it works fine!

Thanks for reading, and you're such a sweetheart! ❀

Granny my friend I loved this account, I find it truly amazing the way the stone turns up when it wants and dissapears when it wants! Haha it does kind of resemble childish behaviour in a way lol! 😁
Im interested how you transformed this into a pendulum? I know your a crafty person! That is really interesting, is it pointed and have a chain attached to it?
Understandable that she didn't want to go to Alcatraz I think this is great, she seems to be comfortable around you and no doubt loves the attention you show her! Your a good person Granny! 😁 ❀ Thank you for sharing another great account I'm going to have to post another 1 up soon aswell I think.

DragonStorm: You know, it makes a lot of sense that she would be very uncomfortable around the element that floats around there... Great crackpot theory!...I'll give it some thought, but I bet you're very close... 😊 ❀

Aussie: You always know the right things to say, and give the very best advice... I don't know about wasting all that Foster's though... Do you think generic beer would work as well?...Thanks!...Just let me rouse my hubby from slumber and get to this banishing immidiately πŸ˜†...I'll tell him you told me to LOL

Love ya, mate... Miss you, too! ❀

Nysa: This cemetery is very small, and it's not marked... It sits on the side of the road, right beside a very well kept, very old farm house... I believe they make maple syrup, and when I remember the name I'll let you know... In the meantime, I found a couple of links:

You can see her new headstone

Also, this link doesn't relate directly their story though it mentions Ira Gardner, but I found it intreguing, as one of the men have the same surname as my maiden name LOL:

I can't seem to find any photos or images of her original headstone, but the replacement is a very good replica, except of course, it's marble and not slate... There are four cemeteries in Gustavus Twp.; East Gustavus, Logan, and two right across the street from each other: North View and Old Gustavus, both of them near the center of town... I believe we met the caretaker in North View...

This story sounds Demonic to me, I suggest you hand cuff your hubby to the bathroom door, fill your toilet up with fosters beer, play a rendition of slim dusty's (I'd like to have a beer with Duncan) listen carefully and when the demon burps slam the lid shut and flush three times as you throw salt over your shoulder πŸ˜† 😜 Sorry guys I shouldn't make fun of Demons and sorry Granny you did warn us not to go there, but I couldn't help myself... πŸ˜‰ on a serious note, I think your instincts on this one Granny are spot on... And what a decent and respectable thing it was to do, paying your respects on behalf of your family for something that happened such a long time ago... Cheers Granny your stories always cheer me up.

LOL Aussie

Hey Granny just a thought after reading your reply, I haven't looked up the story yet, but maybe alcatraz scared her because she was scared she would see your relative there OR that she would be spiritually attacked by the spirits there that were in the prison for similar or worse crimes?

Gustavus, way up in the northeast, I had to look that up. You know when I mapped it the only landmarks that came up on the map were two cemeteries. Well I am planing a trip to Akron / Canton before too long, it looks like it isn't too far from there. Thanks, I am always looking for a new cemetery to check out.

Thanks to all for reading and commenting!

Steph: Thanks so much!...I need all the good karma I can get πŸ˜†...There's a lot of info on pendulums on the WWW...They're pretty cool, really...

Cosmo: Yeah, I think I'll keep closer tabs on her from now on... My heart nearly broke, thinking I'd lost her for good... Thanks <3

The_seven: I actually have three grand-daughters, and three daughters who haven't been attacked, so I'm pretty sure that won't happen...

DragonStorm: It is sweet of her to be somehwere she could be found, even though I had looked there LOL... Maybe she was hiding LOL...Thanks! <3

Snoopy: LOL... Anyone who knows me can tell you I'm a real gemπŸ˜†...

Miracles: I believe she's here because she wants to be, and she knows I'd never keep her for my own purpose... I think you're right: She liked our family, and wanted to get away from there:D...

Taz: It's okay for you to "go there", I did it to you in your story about the Ouija, I think, LOL!...I feel it was meant to happen that way, as Miracles mentioned...

Yo Wardo!...How's it?...Nice to see you back 😊...Thanks for the advice, we all need it...I've gotten quite good at keeping my shields in place, thank you for your concern <3...I believe she is attached to me and my family; I think she feels loved...

Nysa: The cemetery is in Gustavus, Ohio, on Gardner-Barclay Rd...I've heard it called East Gustavus Cemetery, but I don't think it is... For a small, one horse town, there are (seems to me) a lot of cemeteries... One of the things that made this visit so special is that when we were searching for her grave, we'd gone into another very old cemetery where the caretaker just happened to be replanting grass on one of the graves... I told him who I was looking for, and we had a wonderful conversation that lasted about 30 minutes (we were in the wrong cemetery)...When I told him I was interested in seeing her original headstone, he got sad, and said that the Town Hall was locked... I must have looked very disappointed, as he soon offered me the key to the building, LOL, with the condition to return it when we were through... My kids were blown away, because they're not used to that kind of trust in strangers!...I think you may be able to find a picture of it if you Google her name, Frances Maria Buell, sometimes spelled "Buel"...My Grandmother's uncle's name was Ira West Gardner... Very sad story...

Zeta: Thank you for your kind words!...I do know a lot of the history surrounding her death, although, growing up we weren't clued in to the details... Ira West Gardner is the first, and only, person ever hung in Trumbull County, Ohio... We were told, as children, that he was a horse thief, but were told the truth when we got older...Yeah, not a pretty story...Again, Google her name and you can find the story... As far as her protecting me, I feel she does... But I think something scared her about Alcatraz, and when my story about that trip gets published I hope to shed some light on how negative that place is...

Again, thanks to all!...I love you guys... I would put a heart ther, but I'm out of emoticons LOL!

Hi granny:

I have read many of your comments however this is the first story I have read of yours. I will though try to catch up on some. Anyway, you sound like an amazing person who has had many awesome experiences, and maybe some scary I'm sure.

Just curious about the story that surrounds the little girl. Do you know much about the history and details that surrounded her death? Is the little girl at "peace" so to speak?

It seems as if the stone is attracted to you like a magnet. As I stated, I am going to catch up on some of your stories but do you find that the stone, or the girl, brings you good luck or helps to protect you in a way?

Thanks granny, zeta.

So what town in Ohio is this grave in? I am very interested in tombstones so I would love to see the one preserved in the town hall. I love that you made a pendulum from the stone, it is great when our tools can be made from meaningful objects. I am also glad you posted this now, it reminded me that I will have to tend my daughter's adopted grave for her this year on the Day of the Dead, since she is away at college.

Yo Gran,

Long time no type. So I'm curious. It almost seemed as though this object went from a stone to a "her" in your story. Are you referring to the stone as her or do you believe that the ghost is still attached to you? Either way, I know you know what you are doing, but remember to always provide that element of spiritual protection. Don't be lazy on that part!

granny have to say I loved this one!
So sweet that even when you think its gone for good the stone keeps comming back to you.
I know you said don't go there but I must😲
It was very nice of you to go and pay your respects on the familys behalf and yes you should have known better than to take the stone BUT! If you had not taken it maria might not have followed you home and you would not have had all the experiences with her that you have so in a way it was a good thing taking the stone, not that I would say to anyone else that it would be a good idea obviously.

granny - what a wonderful story 😊. The bond you and Maria have developed for each other is amazing and I believe with you is where she is meant to be.

Funny how she ended up back home, isn't it, when she was almost to Alcatraz. Seems like she had a change of heart at the last minute. Almost as if she wanted to go for your sake, but just couldn't bring herself to do it.

Great story, granny ❀ And yep, envious of the pendulum πŸ˜†

Hahahahaha oh dear. The_seven, I don't think watching horror movies has anything to do with real life ghosts or their shenanigans. If it did, I'm sure I'd be first in line for some Paranormal Activity (no pun intentionally intended). 😁

Granny ~ wow this is an awesome story! The respect you have shown her and the love and care you have shared with her is really amazing, you inspire me to extend myself a bit more with those around me to be honest. I guess she really didn't want to go to alcatraz! πŸ˜† But it's so sweet that she kept herself so close by that you would find her again soon.

The_seven ~ seriously? You base your whole ideology on what is in movies even though you know some one sat down wrote up the story and produced it purely in the aid of creating sensationalism that in turn produces money? What the?

Things are irritating me more than usual I better go get some lunch.

Great story granny! I am amazed at how that little stone keeps popping up again when you think you have lost it for good. That little girl is probably so happy that you take care of her grave and keep her close to the family. It does sound like she must have been scared to go to Alcatraz, and decided to stay home. Thanks for posting this granny, I just love how you have a way with ghosties. 😊 ❀

Wow granny! Interesting story!:-) Poor little girl. That was really good of you to visit her grave. That's the real kind of positive kharma. 😊 You know, I hadn't even heard of pendulums until this site. I'm going to have to do some looking into that. Thank you for sharing! Now that your story is finally up, perhaps there is hope that mine isn't in the void afterall! πŸ˜†
