Hi Fregi! Lekker om jo storie te lees!
Living is SA, have ever heard of something called
In afrikaans 'gool'? This is when a witchdoctor makes someone invisible to the human eye.
My grandmother told us many stories about her childhood, and things like this REALY happened.
This sometimes happens when a person goes to a sangoma (witchdoctor) to put a curse on someone.
Let me give you a quick story about this:
My granny knew a girl who lived on a farm with her mom and dad. The neighbours had a son who was in love with her. But she did not like him and she asked him to leave her alone when he began 'courting' her.
Some strange things started to happen in her house.
They would hear things breaking and pots and pans falling to the floor, and when they looked, there was nothing. Once the girl was warming milk on the stove. When it started to boil she went to put the stove off, and iso milk there was blood in the pan.
Then when se went to sleep at night, a cow would appear and start to lick her! This happened on a regular base. Where the cow licked her, sores appeared on her face and body and she got very sick.
Nothing worked to get rid of this cow. The farmer then got the advice that he must through the cow with boiling hot water next time it appeared. When he did, the neighbour's son layed there on the ground!
It got out he went to see a sangoma and with 'muti'
(magic) he could let this things happen to even make this guy invisible!
Of course a sangoma can also put a death curse on someone. This is very evil and very true. Only another sangoma can brake this curse again. This evil mother in law probably did something like this to this poor people...?!

A very interesting story. It reminds me of a story that runs in my family that involves my Great Great Grandpa coming into contact with a 'gorilla' like creature. It also had red eyes. Interesting how such similar stories come from all around the world!

Thank you for your comment Andrea. If you think that gorillas or monkeys live in this area, you have been, sadly, miss-informed. (Gorillas live many thosands of miles north of us, in Central Africa.)
I agree, at this point in my life, that IT could have been demonic. I had never met with a situation such as this before, so readily accepted the description given to me. Ignorance is bliss, sometimes! Lol 😉

Many people see spirits that take the form of primates; strange, considering that the 'monkey's is usually a benevolent spirit in mythology. I think it could be a demon imperfectly taking the shape of things that already live in the general area, kind of as disguise of sorts.
