Interesting story though I don't believe he was there as a guardian but could be wrong. I agree with the others who have said you should investigate the house's background.

You should understand one thing the more exciting the story doesn't always mean it's true. Since this site is for the posting of true events the members avoided making their stories overly exciting.

It helps the validity of the claim by giving the reader nothing more than the information they need to make a determination based on facts not fiction

[at] Miracles

Now I agree she should not insult anyone. But do not agree that she should have to wait a certain amount of time before critiquing the mods. Most mods on sites like this end up with a god complex due to their powers as a mod going to their heads

Not saying that's the case with you. But it is with many people who become mods.

Do the mods have a certain period of time they have to wait before insulting or critiquing those who submit stories? In the end mods like all others on this site myself included.

Should have to earn respect and not simply be given instant respect because of their ability to delete comments and reject submissions.

OK then, getting back to the story, I also have many dreams of hidden passageways. I wonder, if they're not meant to represent real places, but perhaps they represent places in your mind that you have yet to "unlock"? Perhaps you're shutting the door to the man standing there in the basement, which is why he's looking so bored. Maybe he's sending you these "hidden room" dreams as an invitation to let him in so he can explain why he is there? I think this is a situation where you have to feel ready, comfortable and willing to accept what you may find in the "hidden room".

Javelina - and here's where I choose not to play your game. Consider it a win if you'd like.

Miracles,
I had no idea their was a question of time involved in the criticism department, or that it was something one must earn. Is that a NEW rule? And yes, I got the, not so veiled threat you just threw at me.
Is that supposed to frighten me?

Javelina - My only intent when I made that comment was this: she hasn't been around long enough to earn the right to insult us. Funny how things can be interpreted. Isn't it? And, yeah, I can delete her comments. If I find them offensive... Same as I can delete anyone else's.

Alright, I can see how this may have pissed people off here. I didn't appreciate it either. But to threaten someone by saying they have to be careful about insulting the Mods is getting just a bit much. Miracles, just what the hell are you planning on doing to this person should she insult you with her own opinion or complaint? Delete her posts? Turn back another of her submissions? And all you members who echoed this threat, do you think the Mods are all powerful? So much so that they can't stand a little criticism now and again? Get real! You people have got to stop with the 'mean girls' thing. Try going it one on one for a change.

Hannah, a lot of us here happen to like this site and not all experiences are like the ones you see on TV or at the theater. As granny pointed out, here are plenty of other sites to go to if this one bores you.

FYI-It's never a good idea to insult the moderators. 😐

hannahorourkex,
I agree with Miracles in that you better watch what you say about the MODS because they have the deciding power to publish it not. Did you ever consider that they might have a legit reason for not publishing a story. If these stories are so boring then why are you here? Go and find another site to read interesting stories. Most people on this site have true stories to tell and ask for help with their problems. If you are not going to help then don't be come here. This site is for the telling of true stories and for seeking help from others who have experienced similar things.

With that being said, Shadow - VII sorry for going off like that. For your problem at hand, my theory is that the ghost you kept seeing was some sort of guard trying to keep you and your family from seeing and experiencing something fearful. As for the door where you see the ghost could have been there at one time but was changed before your family moved into the house. Physical changes in our world doesn't necessarily mean it has changed in the ghost's world or their plane. I hope you understand what I mean. My suggestion is going to be the same as the others, try to find out the history of the house and see if anything as been changed. I think the ghost you saw was a guard or some kind of protector (for what, I don't know). If you feel the need to bless your home, you can either call someone from your place of religious practice or follow Rook's cleansing method. I suggest Rook's cleansing method because you can adjust it according to your religious faith. If there are any bad entities in your house, then it might take a few tries before it's cleared and you might have to go back and do the cleansing once it awhile to keep it "clean".

I hope that helps.

hannahorourkex - maybe your story was a little too unbelievable? Sometimes the true stories are the ones that are "boring."

Oh, and I'd seriously reconsider criticizing the mods.

At Hannah- I would love to hear your story on the Ouija board even though I stay as far away from them as humanly possble... They still do fascinate me incredibly!
Please send me your story to allstarme1 [at] yahoo.com.
Thanks! 😁

hannahorourkex: Thank you for your honest opinion of those of us who publish the stories 😊, but I have to tell you, you don't have to read our boring site... There are plenty of sites out there looking for "exciting stories"...Why not try one of them?

Very eerie story! That would scare the crap out of me, but at least I'm glad you don't feel threatened by him.
I am assuming that he is hovering around the place as there is something that is his and is keeping him there... I think your job my friend is/was to find it and let him know you have it (whatever it might be)... I certainly don't think its malicious judging by what you have posted.
Very interesting, I would of loved to know what it could be... If anything!

My mom has dreams like that all the time, where there are secret passageways in houses. She calls them her "house" dreams. Because the house she dreams of is always somewhere she's been before. Once she had a dream about our current house, that she went down in this creepy room in our basement and there was a secret passage there. I thought it was interesting and investigated it myself since I've had experiences in my basement as well. Of course, there was no passage.

I honestly think that the dream is more symbolism than actually showing a real place. You should do research on the meanings of dreams. It might give you a clue as to why the man stood there or where he came from.

😲 I thought I was the only one who had dreams like that. Have you researched the back rounded of the house and place of where the house is? If not I think that would be a good idea, maybe someone got killed there or murdered have you tried talking to him?
