I am so sorry for the loss of your son.
I don't remember if you read my story Outter Heaven where I had dinner with my grandparents in Heaven. But what you are describing in your visions IS Heaven. I believe your son is projecting to you that he is there by showing you what it looks like. Paradise. I wasn't on a bridge but I saw the glorious views of beautiful meadows and rivers before my grandfather came to bring me to his house. In fact we had to walk through a meadow to get there. So I think that even after all these years he thought you were ready to see where he was and wanted you to see what a beautiful place he has been all these years.
Big Hugs to you.

Miracles and Tweed, you betcha it's in the journal. As you know (think I've mentioned it a few times in comments) I've had what my mother termed 'prophetic' dreams most of my life, but this certainly had a different flavor to it.
Tweed, that's so weird about having one about a story on this sight. πŸ˜† But, as you say maybe it's like 'practice'. Still prefer it to the scary stuff though.

Tweed - lmao! I remember that πŸ˜† One night Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow appeared while I was meditating. I was like, "Holy Crap! And Oh yeah!" all at the same time LOL. (Lord, love that man πŸ˜‰) The next night I heard the word "Lily". Ummm okay? Thought it may have something to do with a niece who is pregnant but couldn't figure out how. They already had the baby's name picked out and it isn't Lily LOL. The next day I told my daughter about seeing Johnny Depp and hearing the word Lily. She said, "Mom, you do know Johnny Depp's daughter's name is Lily, right?" Uh no. Didn't even remember him having a daughter.

That morning when I got to work I Googled Johnny Depp and Lily. That was the morning after Lily made her modeling debut. Okay, that's great! But why did I need to know this? LOL I think at the time I was questioning whether or not I was still receiving visions, through meditation or otherwise.

hehe Someone's getting visions. πŸ˜‰ This is great! I know a stone wall is like 😐. But you know what, it sounds like a rather pretty wall. A bit of natural beauty and wonder in an urban jungle perhaps? I'd say the fact it's in an area you're not familiar with was probably 'the point', as Miracles says validation/confirmation, we all need it!
I have no idea what some visions mean. Sometimes I think it's just nothing, our abilities flexing to stay sharp for when we really *need* a vision. I even had one about a story on this site once, I mean what the heck?! I dreamed I was looking at and reading the words 'falling dowel pin', (or something like that) then not long after, or the next day (not sure), there was a story on here called 'Floating Dowel Pin' (I think). So my vision wasn't 100% but there was me going firstly 😲 and then 'WHY did I foresee this? What is the POINT of THAT?!'
Ah, at least it's amusing.

Well, here's a tiny update on the meditation thing. So, after I'd started this thread (about a week ago) I began having problems achieving that level. I get the tingling in my hands, the black into white gradient and then - nothing. Well, I never actually make it as far as the misty/foggy white. Things have happened to jar me back into this reality or I figured I might be trying too hard (and therefore not being truly relaxed.) Anyway on Friday, I did get an image, but it wasn't my valley. It was a stone wall with water falling down it. Sweet but...
On Saturday, I went shopping with a couple of friends, and they decided they wanted to have lunch at Red Robins. I'm not real familiar with the area only having been there once before a few years back. $12 for a hamburger and fries is a bit steep for me. We had a nice time and as we were leaving I looked across the street to see that wall.
Yeah, no big whoop or anything, I just thought "Well that's interesting."

Val (and Rook and everybody), I have been doing my happy dance since Rook so accurately described the friends' house. So yours is nicely adding to my glee. I just posted another tidbit confirming what he saw. OMG...

Tweed, my OBE was intentional. I had been trying forever. There were air vents in the ceiling that make a white-noise kind of sound. But it was not loud like the buzzing I heard. It felt to me like my body was straining with letting me out. Kind of selfish, I think. Kidding... 😜 I never pushed for it again. Just figured it wasn't my thing.

Right now I feel such a load off my shoulders. Thank you, Rook, for explaining E's continued touch sensations. We still have more salt and rosemary for the baths.

Yippee!

A better way to put it would be the 'hold' was broken... The 'touching' 'E' is feeling (see other experince... Be careful what you invite...) is 'it' trying to re-attach itself. Things is looking up though.

I was wondering about those 'minute minutes', and if you took minutes about them in your journal, Tweed. πŸ˜‰ Geeze I do hope Hecate meant soaring not souring...
Hecate - I'd think we'd all have some kind of indicator that things are happening? Like the tingling with your energy healing. If you don't tingle you know you aren't going to be healing. Maybe it's different for everyone? Or perhaps it's a threshold/ learning curve thingy... Less noticeable as you become more attuned/practiced with what you do. *Sigh* This is sure turning into a huge meal for my mind. 😁

When you had the conscious OBE were you trying to, or was it unintentional? I know a lady who did the same thing and I *think* she said something about buzzing. But I remember her telling me about her ceiling fan, which was on, and that spooked her. So the buzzing could have been that. The only buzzing I've had is when I'm near my body. For some reason sometimes I get like a steady 'ddrrrrrr' noise which builds in volume. It used to happen A LOT when I first started, but now it hardly ever happens.

Also I must have missed something in the other story comments I didn't know the tart had gone! That's great news! 😁

Tweed, I think I just misspelled soaring. LOL Souring is great, though. So she is supposed to 'pickle' the valley. Sorry... I am so happy about having my son's attachment gone, I am rather distracted...

And your music/meditation distinction made perfect sense. Healing can also be exhilarating for me. People often ask if it drains me. It relaxes me, but I get healing, too. In some ways it's a little selfish. 😊 But I have made peace with that. Lol

I have only done one conscious OBE. Like 5 seconds close to the ceiling, I hear a buzzing sound and whoooosh, my fear send me zooming back into my body. I leave in sleep/dreams but have no control and no real knowledge until I remember the dream.

Hecate, meditation is different from my music zone. Meditation is relaxing/calming and the music zone is exhilarating/invigorating but both are rejuvenating. Hope that made sense.

I make a thing of having an OBE most days, so almost every day. But most days are like a practice run, even for just 30 seconds or a minute minutes. I do this only to keep my skills sharp. About two to three times a week I'll do something more purposeful and stay out much longer.

Oh yeah! I know it's auto corrector something but LOL at souring! I now have an image of Val looking down at a wondrous valley in contempt! πŸ˜†

Miracles, that is interesting that you need the forehead thing and the tingling to know you'll 'go'. As we talk here, I think I need to work more on my third eye.

Tweed, when you meditate, is it like your music 'zone'? And do you have OBEs often?

Val, I feel you souring out over your valley...

Wow! Lots of food for thought here. I always thought that my 3rd eye was open due to being able to see/hear spirits, and assorted other gifts (I tend to shy away from labeling myself). However, perhaps it has never been fully open? πŸ˜• It is comforting to know that the 'feelings' I get are somewhat common/normal. I just have to be patient and see where this all leads.

val - I understand the light pressure across your forehead. It feels, to me, almost as if my forehead is numb. My hands and feet also get tingly and levitate. I think this is all part of the process for me because most often, but not always, after that, I literally feel as if I step into a corridor or room. It's a dark gray sort of atmosphere until I start seeing/hearing things. The images typically come from the left and go to my right. Not sure if the audio follows that same path (need to check Journal). And yes, I believe the tingling feeling I experience also stops once the images come in. I really need to read my Journal before giving inaccurate info πŸ˜• I also have come to realize if my forehead doesn't get that numb feeling and there's no tingling sensation in hands/feet, nothing is going to happen. I'm pretty much wasting my time right then.

Tweed,

Ah, very well... The 'FOG' you describe may be what I refer to as 'THE VEIL'...It's what seperates the 'Physical Realm from the Spiritual/Astral Realm'.

Of course this is just my opinion and I am sure others have different terms for it.

I do agree the preasure, as its being described, could be that of the charkras 'opening'. It's something I felt when I first started and others have described the sensation in a simular manner.

This is really cool stuff! Love this Site!

Respectfully,

Rook

hehe I thought the same as Hecate about the healing ability with your hands tingling!

I experience the white fog type thing you describe Val. Sometimes when I meditate and nearly always when I astral project.
I'm going to use terminology I got from Rook. He thinks of astral projection as entering the astral realm (s). Where as an OBE he thinks of as pertaining to this physical realm; from floating above your body in the same room you're in, to floating around in your own house, or going to any location you can think of.

So the white fog, for me, is only experienced when I astral project/enter the astral realm (s). It's accompanied by a floating sensation to begin with too. Then I guess I get used to the floating sensation and no longer notice it.

I've never noticed the white fog during an OBE however. Only the weird floating sensation to begin with, before it becomes more normal.

The light pressure on your forehead, I had to think about this one. I can relate to it, but I think I don't notice it as much now. It sounds to me like your chakras are opening up during this process, particularly your third eye.

Val, I really had to think about my process more. I have always been good at relaxation. Free form meditation for me usually results in a really nice nap, though. So, the best I can do at free form is to focus on a particular thing, and let my mind wander around that. Free form with boundaries. So, I just usually focus on a body and do healing. Then, when done, I pick up anything else that might be useful about them. It was the tingly hands that alerted me to my healing abilities (hint hint).

After the healing focus, I often just form an image and put myself in it, either a spring meadow or a glass sided A-frame cabin high in the mountains (more detail here but you get the picture).

I really like your description of coming out of the fog, Val. 😊 Thank for sharing.

Tweed, so glad you could join us! Freeform meditation - I like the sound of that. I'm also envious that Miracles has been with the stars, and smaller than a grain of sand...*sigh* just imagine that!
I thought I might share some of the sensations I feel as I begin to meditate, and compare notes with you guys, if your game? Of course there's the floaty feeling, but prior to that I'll see varying shades of darkness into very translucent white that gives way to the images. Sort of like stepping out of a light fog. As this is happening, I'll often feel a light pressure or weight across my forehead, as if someone has their hand there, and my palms will get very tingly. Not always but sometimes my fingers and toes as well. But when I reach the image stage, these sensations either stop, or I'm no longer aware of them, I don't know which.
Does any of that sound familiar to you guys?

Miracles, I call it energy healing because I didn't pay the money to go to Reiki classes. Barbara Brennan has a book called "Hands of Light". A friend of mine shared his "secret" Reiki book with me, and, low and behold, it was essentially the same as Barbara Brennan. So, I cannot say yes, I do Reiki. But what I do is very similar.

Miracles, I love your stars to a grain of sand experiences. They sound very profound. When I heal, I use size change, I make myself very small and go inside people's knees or stomachs or whatever needs healing, and I mend things that way. Or, I make myself very large so I can move large amounts of energy through them. It is all in your imagery. I think I have to let my meditations be more freeform sometimes, as Tweed mentions.

Thanks for sharing...

😊 You guys are great. I'm too tired to think of anything more substantial to say right now. But I just thoroughly enjoyed reading all these comments.
Val, this is how I mostly meditate, with no agenda. Just wait and see what happens. For some reason the 'journey' is always more vivid for me, done this way. Maybe it's that our subconscious is far more in the driver's seat because we're not envisioning a specific thing. I don't understand it, but I love it.
You may be experiencing the astral realm sometimes when you do this. You could also be having an OBE. I would definitely play around with this sort of meditation, find out where it leads. 😊
It's so interesting how we *feel* what's happening to us, in meditation.
Miracles I love your stars and grain of sand experience!

val - I think I may understand how you feel, to a degree anyway. A couple of times while meditating I have been taken into the stars. It brings me to tears how beautiful it is there and there are absolutely no words to describe the feeling of utter peace and beauty.

Another time I was brought to the size of a grain of sand. I could literally feel myself shrinking until I was so small, I almost felt insignificant. Until I realized what I was being shown/taught. In the grand scheme of things, my worries at that time in particular weren't that bad, all things considered. It felt similar to the last scene in MIB (can't remember which one) where the earth is like a marble the aliens are playing with LOL

Val, absolutely. That is why I feel like you need to just lean out and feel what this has to offer. If it is not a major stressor in your life, then it seems to be an opportunity you have yet to realize is available to you. I feel very fortunate that I am here when you are moving into a new cool thing for you... This valley is fertile.

Hecate,
On edge? Nope. Just the usual money woes, that if you're breathing you probably have. πŸ˜‰ So, I'm not really stressed about anything currently.
Controlling it makes total sense to me, just like controlling one's dreams.
The cliff and other edges I find myself standing on (except for that bridge) there's nothing between me and the open air. I'm trying to find the words to explain how it makes me feel. I'm not afraid, quite the opposite, but exhilarated is too strong a word. I think being in awe might come close. And there's this huge bubble of happiness in my chest, if that makes sense. I absorb what the valley offers - the colours, the smells, the peace and freedom. It's almost like being very thirsty and getting a drink of cool water. It's almost...euphoric.
Does that help any?

Val, I should have added that our meditations can give us insights into things we are missing. But it is good to get used to controlling it all. Ask what it means. And you can make it go away, too. Meditation is yours. Does this make sense?

Hecate, I honestly don't know how I end up standing at the edge of things. I don't 'picture' myself there, it just happens. Just like I didn't knowingly create the valley, it's just there, and apparently my one constant. I guess I'l just have to wait and see what develops. But, I really am curious as to whether this is common with meditation, or as you put it, the beginning of an astral projection. How can I tell? Any ideas?

Val, I create such a place during my meditation where I go to get peaceful, minus the cliff edge. My first reaction to your story was "go there!". "Jump". I used to fly in my dreams. This could easily be the beginning of astral projection. Be sure to protect yourself. But I suggest you play with it big time. I am really anxious to hear what happens. I want to fly with you...

I have a question, that I'd like some feedback on concerning meditation. I'm placing this here, because I didn't want to take away from someone else's story.
Generally, I meditate before bed. Usually, I'll achieve a peaceful, somewhat floaty feeling, but lately I've also been seeing things without envisioning them. I seem to be somewhere high up; the edge of a cliff, or standing on a mountain ridge, a building's ledge, or at the top of a very, very long staircase. Always, as I look down there is the most glorious valley to view. I can even see a river, and large birds gliding in circles. It's just breath taking to see, and seems very real.
Last night I found myself on a wooden bridge, overlooking that valley. The railings of the bridge were covered with flowered vines. For the first time I was not alone, people were passing by me. They were of all shapes and sizes, both genders, some were even kids, I think. I didn't really see any faces, as I only saw them from my peripheral as they passed behind me, and there seemed to be a great many of them. Now, here's my question, have any of you experienced something similar while meditating?

notjustme,
On the subject of suicide so many thoughts tumble through my head. Of course it isn't something I'd recommend to anyone, threat of Hell or not, but for myself it is an emotionally charged subject. I've been on both sides of the coin as it were; the one wanting to do it, and the one left behind. Both sides suck.
We don't really know where life will take us, and I guess it's the same for death. Life and death are like two winding rivers, and we can't see around the bends. Could be anything. No one really KNOWS, we just have our own personal faith and beliefs to guide us. That's what makes it all such a grand adventure.

Trio,
I actually thought of posting a tissue warning with this one - lol.
I won't lie, that first year I saw my son everywhere. I really don't think it was his spirit initially, not now at least, except for those fleeting glances at the house, and even those I question. I think part of me was in denial, so my subconscious was projecting. I'd see him at the gas station, or the store, walking down the street - stuff like that. But of course as soon as I'd get close enough I'd realize it was just some other skinny boy who bore a resemblance in build and hair. But, the voice that night... It was SO definitely him, and something that will always be very special for me.

Yup, another favourite of family visits to add to my beloved collection.

Thanks Val for that touching story. Of course, I believe you heard what you heard. I can't tell you how heartbreaking it was to read about your son, I'm sorry for your loss. I also agree that suicide victims do not go to "hell". I actually read somewhere before that they can go to the light as long as they forgive themselves. It said only you can hold yourself back. That's just what I read and believe.

My theory, based on reading on things, of afterlife is we hang around only if there is something holding us back, whether it be an emotion, or an unfulfilled duty. I sincerely wish you and your family all the best, and God bless your son as well. ❀

Thank you for reading and the condolences. I believe that sometimes 'bad' things are blessings in disguise. kirovmom and lady-glow,
Thank you for reading and commenting. Simba coming back when he did, was definitely one for the books. When a cat that old goes missing for any real length of time, you just assume the worse. I often wished he could speak 'people' and tell me what adventures he'd had that year. He passed away peacefully in 2009, a very old and happy cat.

Val, every time I see your name on a story, I get excited because I know it will be written with heart, insight and details. I was not disappointed with this one. In fact, I was almost in tears.

I believe and trust that it is all possible.

I like what Elnoraemily said. Hugs, lady!

What a beautiful and sad story!
I'm glad that Simba joined you before it was too late, there are few things as comforting as hugging a cat during a stressful situation,
Your story made me cry, thanks for sharing.
