Hi guys and thank for all the info presented. People ask how I keep so calm, and its easy for me because I'm a skeptic. I like the paranormal and it fascinates me, but I'm the kind of person who likes seriously concrete evidence of what is occurring, so right now I'm just taking the sleep paralysis at the moment as maybe just a simple "syndrome" before just jumping the gun and believing its an outright haunting or even if a ghost actually touched me. Because I didn't feel hands or anything, I just couldn't move. Oh and as far as finding myself off my bed and on my stomach I'm still thinking, as well as hoping, that it was me simply just having a bad dream and my body sleep walking and putting me there.

And I have taken notice of the cleansing posted, thank you by the way rookdygin, but I want to make sure if I do actually have something here that it is malevolent before I tried to do away with it. So yes to Mistyy I am very interested and not seriously considering any kind of cleansing before I know what is actually going on in my home. Because let's face it, if I do have a ghost and its more of a funny prankster or a "nice" ghost maybe, I'm cool with it hanging around. I don't know if that's a wrong way of thinking but ias long as I don't feel threatened I just don't feel the need to take action against something.

Whatever it may be its not damaging any of my belongings, doesn't trash any rooms, and other than the sleep paralysis instances which are very far and in between I have never felt a threat.

I also forgot to mention about the tapping and other noises when I'm in the room, granted its not a rodent or other animal in the walls, if I get annoyed enough I will pound on the wall and yell "shut up" and it goes away for the rest of that night. But that's just for the night. But in any case if it is a ghost of some sort it seems to know when it makes me mad and it simply stops. So if that kind of relationship is possible I don't see a reason why we couldn't co-exist as long as it knows I am the master of my home.

Im rather more interested and fascinated than I am truly scared. I have got pretty good nerves when it comes to things like this, working as a bouncer and security kind of prepares you in a way for this kind of thing as far as keeping a clear head in certain situations.

As far as my dogs, pretty much to me that's the only proof I got right now as it is pretty strange how they act in unison and the way the react towards other events I mentioned. My dogs are scared of no animal or person they have ever encountered, so I do take their reactions very seriously towards this.

But I will keep you guys informed as things progress about these instances and the info or constructive criticism you can provide is more than welcome as I feel anything helps.

I have thought about doing a recording and video at night, but how do I ask for permission as to not offend anything because if its not mad I sure as heck don't want to make it mad. Then when I do ask for permission how do I know what answer it gives me?

Because it has been mentioned... (To who it may concern... PLEASE feel free to copy and paste my cleansing method anytime you feel someone could benefit from it, just list me in the credits...😉)

Recipe for a Home Cleansing/Shielding... (allow for two or 3 days to complete)

Day one: Open all curtains window and doors with screens installed, let fresh air and sunshine into the home. Have all closets, cabinets and other 'dark spaces' open so that as much natural light as possible can enter those spaces. After 2-3 hours take a broom and 'sweep' out each room (this is symbolic and you do not have to really sweep) focus your thoughts on sweeping (pushing) out all negative energies / entities /thoughts. Close home up after completing each room of your home... Please do not forget your garage if you have one. (Optional) Light incense (sandalwood or Dragons-blood works well for me) and let aroma fill the home, and/or play a tape that contains your favorite Church/Positive, Upbeat (songs that give you good thoughts) songs before you begin sweeping.

Day two (or three): Once again open all curtains, windows and doors. Take a White candle (Optional) to the center most point of the home, sit on the floor and place candle in front of you. Light the candle (visualize a white ball of light) and then focus on the flame... Visualize the flame (white light) filled with positive thoughts, energy. (Say a prayer at this time if you so desire... Ask for cleansing positive energy to fill the candles flame/white light). Hold this 'image' in your mind and then visualize the flame (light) slowly expanding outward, visualize it filling the room your in, every corner and 'dark space'. Continue to visualize it expanding...it's outer edges pushing away (burning away) any and all negative energies/entities out and away from each room in your home. Once you have visualized this flame (light) filling your entire home, picture it expanding to your property lines. Hold this image in your mind for a few moments then visualize 'anchoring' this flame (light) where you are sitting which is the center most point of your home. Once you have done this. Take a deep breath, relax a few moments and then blow out the candle. (If you didn't use a candle just let yourself relax a moment or two.) "

Now you can create a shield for yourself using the 'home shield' technique but instead of focusing on your home visualize the 'flame' simply surrounding you instead of your home... Best time to do this is after a nice shower using a rosemary scented soap (rosemary is good for purification and protection.)

With your given history you may find a Journal will help you sort out any 'sleepwalking/Sleep paralysis events from actual Paranormal events. Details should include time, place, weather, phase of the moon... All the details of what happened and your personal feelings concerning the event. Anything you can think of that may have 'bearing' on what you experienced.

Please keep us posted.

Respectfully,

Rook

Rookdygin has a cleansing method he has posted for other posters on this site, if you want to get rid of your problems. Couldn't hurt to try it anyway. You might have to do it a few times before the problems go away.

I am no expert either but all of these events sound quite unsettling to me. I have not had much personal experience with the paranormal but I love to read accounts from others. I agree with other commenters that the sure fire sign that something is not right is your dogs' reactions. It is certainly not just your house settling. Whether it is harmful or not is hard to say, anything that can pull you from your bed sounds quite troubling. I don't want to jump to any conclusions but every single account I have read/heard of demonic hauntings have had instances of sleep paralysis. Also the fact that you heard something "crawling or dragging" itself sounds like the paranormal phenomenon is not a human entity. I think you are very brave for not letting fear take over as those type of things feed off of it. I would not recommend any video taping, it may anger whatever is there and see it as a challenge. Stay safe and perhaps look into a house cleansing!

theDon,
I had a experience where I was dragged out of bed too. I don't know how you remained so calm. Well, at least that part of your experience is not sleep walking or sleep paralysis. I don't have either one of these problems ever, and I got dragged out of bed. Animals are very keen and more sensitive to the paranormal I believe. If your animals are acting odd, and your hearing, and experiencing these things too, then it could be real.

you say your not an expert... Don't worry because nobody is, how could they? But I do find that a good blast of metallica's "creeping death" played on a good sound system up to eleven, keeps all this nonsense away for a good ten months... Its my way of putting the fear into the fear, So to speak. Try it...

"I can hear something upstairs that is seemingly either crawling or dragging itself from room to room very quickly."
^^ OMG, this bought me out in goose bumps!

Sorry, not much help, TheDon, but I think you have a lot of guts to remain so calm. I know the presence of dogs can be a double edge sword as they can be comforting and protective but also their behaviour can sometimes be alarming. When they can obviously hear or see something that we cant.

Would you say you are more scared or more interested in the goings on at your house? Or is it about equal? You just seem so calm! Would you want to cleanse?

😁

Wow. Very creepy. Your dogs being spooked and finding yourself lying on the floor seems to suggest something paranormal for sure. You ought to do Rook's cleansing. I got to hand it to you, you seem to have nerves of steel!

Shlain - no, it shouldn't. The person submitting the story would have to provide an age that would put them in the "teenager/young adult" category. Whether or not that choice is deliberate or accidental is the question.

Miracles,

Sorry to hijack this thread, but if upon registration a member does not choose their age group will it go to "The author is a teenager/young adult' by defalt? I've read stories where the authors are married people and their profile shows their teens.

TheDon,

I agree with Narella. Your dogs are a great indication of spiritual activity. The fact that they both notice something at the same time should count as confirmation.

This sounds like a poltergeist. A very powerful one if it can drag you out of your bed. I'm proud that you stood up to it even if it was in your mind. You showed it you are in control. Keep doing it whenever you experience sleep paralysis.

As most of the experiences are sound related, could you perhaps have an all night recording done? With a camera or a tape recorder?

I really don't think you should communicate with it directly apart from telling it to leave you alone when it holds you down.

Try sprinkling some salt across the threshold of your bedroom door and do some sage smudgings. Get permission to do it first though.

I think the reaction of your dogs indicates something is going on. Have you thought of putting a camera in your room to see if you can catch someting on film?

TheDon I can't really give you much advice but reading the part when you woke up on the floor is quite scary, and also the fact your dogs wouldn't come near you is very worrying. If it is paranormal your dogs seem to be effected by it and if I was you I would try Rooks cleansing method as it might end up doing you some harm if it can drag you out of bed (if it is paranormal and not sleep walking) but I'm sure if it is not paranormal the cleansing won't do any harm. Keep us posted on any more you experience.
Stay safe and take care.
